Fun story about Encanto: Disney execs also didn’t think Luisa was cool or pretty and got kinda blindsided by the high demand for Luisa merch. They expected little girls to like Isabela way more (which they didn’t, because she was kinda prickly for a big part of the movie). The animators also had to fight to keep Luisa’s body type, because she was not deemed conventionally pretty enough. Instead she turned out to be one of the most beloved characters on the cast. That dude couldn’t be more wrong, actually :D
I honestly thought when they were talking about Luisa being fat, I was like "but she's not fat, she is strong and muscular?" Then the picture showed MIRABEL?! I was in genuine shock 😭

Yep, and at least they made sure she had tampons. Also, nobody had ever had a period in space before so they wouldn't have known if it effected the flow at all, and if any of the tampons had somehow ended up being unusable for whatever reason they couldn't have gotten any more. Yes, Im not from Bulgaria but from Hungary and we have a different kinda sexism here, where people DO belive women are made to be wives and mothers, but those proffessions are seen as respectable and difficult, while I get the impression that in the US sexists see women as bumbling idiots that are "only" good to be wives an mothers and they should be doing those things not because they are better at it than men, but because those are tiresome timewasting activities men are to valuable for. So people do respect women and mothers in that way here and if you badmouth women men tend to take it personally and it won't reflect on you favorably.

Honestly pictuters of the "What were you wearing" exhibitions are always haunting. Because they have everything. From a babys Pyjama, to party dresses, Wedding dresses, army uniforms and just plain everyday clothes. It just gives you a horrible feeling

Everyone needs to go look at the "What were you wearing?" exhibition! It's heartbreaking and absolutely destroys the "you shouldn't have been wearing that" argument. There's t-shirts & shorts, wedding dresses, night gowns, military uniforms, children's clothes, and diapers. Children's clothes. And diapers. It's never about what they're wearing.
There were even the clothes of an 80 years old grandma who was r-ped by a 20yo man.

I saw a video a while ago from a person talking about that exhibit but I don't remember who made that video. But when you saw all the children's clothes, my eyes started to water, then when you saw the diaper, my heart sank even more and I actually started to cry.

For the whole "Little Loopy after giving birth", that actually is a thing from what my mom said before, it's called Baby Blues, it because the mother doesn't feel as close to her baby after giving birth, since the baby isn't actually, part, of the mother, so the mother feels as if a piece of her went with the baby.

The entire time I was watching Encanto, my husband was excitedly pointing out how much Mirabel looked like me and I loved it.
Also, actual research shows that the shopping thing is the opposite of what that one person's diagram looked like, as women tend to go into grocery stores knowing exactly what they want and get out, while men tend to get easily distracted by sales and endcaps loaded with flashy products and come home with more than they intended to get. Me and my husband are both adhd so we both align with the latter though 😂
Regarding the exhibit of clothes worn by victims of sexual violence… the single most disturbing thing to me is the sheer number of children’s cloths in that exhibit. It incites a special kind of violent rage in me.

Funny story about polyamory, I have a neighbour (under 16) a cis straight guy, who tries so hard to be a playboy, and show off, be obnoxious, and rude, and one day when I was walking with him I ask “Would you ever date multiple women at once? Like they’re fully aware of each other and they consent?” And he replies “Yes” and that he likes the idea
So I ask “So, would that technically make you polyamorous?” And if he said a simple no, that would’ve been fine, but he pulls a disgusted face and says “Uh.. no.. I wouldn’t wanna be part of the LGBTQ… I’d get made fun of for that, and I’m not gay…no offence.. you understand, right?” he had to add no offence since I’m queer myself

And to pre-empt the people who equate promiscuity with AIDS; I knew people who had sex more than once a day who used condoms - therefore didn't get venereal diseases. I knew people who were monogamous (including a hetereosexual Orthodox Jewish Grandmother whose husband got HIV through a transfusion) who got AIDS. HIV is a virus not a divine judgement.
Even a "pure" virg1n can get HIV if they use dirty needles

When you put it into numbers like that, it... doesn't actually seem that crazy. Wild to someone who isn't interested in one-night-stands, sure, but that's essentially one new guy each weekend or one on a weekend and one to blow off some steam mid-week, with the occasional week off or with one of the previous guys instead of a brand new one. Absolutely infeasible for someone in the countryside but in a major metropolitan area, it shouldn't be that difficult to manage, especially with dating apps that allow you to specify that you're only looking for flings.

@@blaireshoe8738 We live longer than we realize. A month is a long time. A year is an era so long we don't even remember most of what happened during that time. Sometimes I imagine what it would be like to live for thousands or millions of years and I think I'd get lost in the middle somewhere and forget the vast majority of my past leading up to it. But then I realize I'm already there.
