Mercruiser 3.0 starter motor

I have 3.0L and also bolt the starter motor bolt. I had to drill it out what a pain. All fix now with a bolt and nut.

Is that starter rated for marine use? It looks like it is for an auto. They should be spark proof. Just asking?
