I have one exactly the same, it's Powertech branded. Reliable unit. Been running for 12 months. Few little issues. They drop down to about 90% before they start charging again, they don't compensate load with solar and they charge at about 13.8 on lithium mode which is too low. But hey it keeps going and nothing's caught on fire yet
Yours is underperforming according to spec. The manual says 14.4v for LIon mode.
Really appreciate this informative video, there's not a lot out thre about these. I'm looking at the Comp. Did you compare these against the Trek marlin and Merida, Cube, Fluid etc before buying? You dcided this is better value? Do you still have it? any issues with it after some ownerhip? Cheers!
I've bought one of these facias and im having some clearance issues with the gear shifter plastic trim. Unsure how to fit it in as the only way it fits in is if i put the facia first. just need some tips on how to prevent thanks
Hi mate by memory I think I had to put the gear stick plastic cover in last?
From new i Had issues with the front disc brake and wheel being out of shape.
Same, managed to fix it tho
Same
Both of mine snapped , how to get to them out
Have the broken in the bloke or are they sticking out a little
As I cut a groove/line in the broken bolt and used a flat blade screw driver and backed them out
@@jdbourke75 How do you get to the other one without taking the engine out?
@@jdbourke75 You don't get it do ?
@@chrispretorius5999 only one I’ve mine broke so I was able to remove it, if you can’t make a slot in the top of the broken bolt you will need to remove the engine mate
Love the video, cheers. I'm about to do the installation with the same facia and head unit on my BF - just waiting on the harness from Mavs. Thanks for the extra tips at end, very helpful. 👍
Just came across your channel,revently brought a 05 ba mk2 sedan,can i swap out the ICC,for a XR6 ICC???.
Yeah but you can’t swap bcm’s
It’s kind of a bit redundant though. All you’ve done is add a Bluetooth connection, really. I have a Territory with the same level ICC and all I did was add a 12v Bluetooth adapter, the car already has an aux input, so all I do is switch it to aux, my phone connects, and everything else on my phone is voice driven, and if I want the FM radio, which is almost never, I switch back to FM.
How many spare fuses are there for future proofing? Cheers, r
I did this with a Pioneer head unit on an older model BA but bypassed the ICC. The common way to connect a head unit to the older ICCs was to go through a hidden aux port behind the fuse box, but from what I can tell that's not designed for line-level output from the head unit, so the audio ends up being too quiet and the quality really suffers. Wiring the new head unit directly to the speakers does mean the steering wheel controls no longer work, but I honestly don't miss them.
would hooking up an amp to the aftermarket headunit and running speaker wires from the amp let you keep the steering wheel buttons? or is the audio controlled from the factory icc when put in aux?
Your son has good taste in this generation’s music
90th sub🎉
I found the same power box on Amazon US--B0B12MKZT7
Have a link Aust please?
COULD'T FIND ONE ON AMAZON IN US. CAN YOU HELP?
Did you have to loosen or remove your factory fascia to fit this one? I've tried putting mine in, but it simply won't work.
Just needed to take off the side mouldings and gear lever plate send me a pic of where your up to?
If you’re talking about the metal railings that it sits on, you will need to trim them as they are too long, and hit the ducting for the air con.
It's a pity ford make us do this lol. Thanks for the video though, I'll probably get around to fitting mine in a couple days
That is CRAP!!! It is okay if you only want to play music via bluetooth, but it's no good for making and receiving calls while you have the FM radio going 🙄 it means you have to go to AUX every time, and that is a massive pain in the ass 😥 it's shit.
Yeah alright pal and what videos have you posted to help anyone else? Just another keyboard warrior mouthing off about someone posting a helpful video what they did… take what you want out of it or don’t! 🍆
It's 1 button to change to aux, 1 button to answer a call..
Talk to much
Righto why don’t you post a DIY video to try and help someone else?
OK, mine has both broken off , how do you get to the other one ?
Would u know how to wire the starter by chance having trouble please n thanks
I have 3.0L and also bolt the starter motor bolt. I had to drill it out what a pain. All fix now with a bolt and nut.
Under stearing is blue plug build by factory to conect aftemarket stereo with three wires constant power yellow, red assesory and black neutral. Also next to that blue plug is audio plug conection for factory sound withouth cutting any wires everytning will work when you press AM control. This is more easy exsplanation how to conect aftemarket stereo on all Ford Falcons which is easy information for everyone. I have used exstra wireless antena for aftermarket stereo ,because true factory antena for aftermarker stereo i have had isue with low signal.
About to buy one of these (blue ones), so your vid came really handy.
Great set of grips really secure and haven’t moved an inch gives me confidence while on the tracks 👍
Mate, I'm 6foot tall. Is this going to be perfect for me, or do I have to go for 29 inches?
Mate I sold the bike the very next week and went to 99bikes and purchased a 29r and I’m only 5’10 so I don’t think it’s the right bike for you, check out my other Vid on my silverback MTB best budget bike from all my research mate.
Don't buy this bike, made of steel and weighs a metric ton! put the extra bit of cash in a and get a nice entry level bike from a reputable brand. my suggestion for your height would be get a L frame with 29" wheels perfect for hitting the trials. only a suggestion but my mate owns this bike and were trying to get him to sell it off already!
@@physcofreaks what bike are you talking about the eurobike? If so I agree but the Silverback is a great entry level bike to hit the tracks!
@@jdbourke75 i meant the eurobike, sorry i wasn't to clear in my response haha! The silverback is a great entry level choice, Never get the eurobike though, wouldn't trust those dodgy welds down a hill xD
Where did you get it from?
bikescootercity.com.au/
Thank you for the shout out much appreciated!! 🙏
DO NOT<<<<DON"T use different bolts on YOUR starter!!!! You'll be pulling the motor to replace the flywheel if you do.. Starter bolts are special and fit tightly into the starter holes to keep the motor in perfect alignment. You can buy new ones at any auto parts store. He means well but he has no idea what he's doing on this topic. Google search starter bolts and take a look.
Have been in there for 3years mate they are the correct grade of bolt and haven’t had any issues!
Would you mind doing a video on how to connect the USB port to the car?
Hey mate you just piggy back it onto the cig socket👍
@@jdbourke75 mind going into a bit more detail for the slow ones in the back haha (me)
@@george.bel92 can find it on google and other youtube vids. Just do a quick search 👍
USB port two wires plus and minus you can conect true factory blue plug under stearing or you can conect separate true Piggy fuse where is fuse box and make sure use assesory wire fuse not fuse which has constant power battery.
Cool Video. Thanks for sharing #SilverbackBikes
Thanks for the vid. you clearly know about the different models. Apart from the 1x crank, are there any key differences with the Trek Marlin 5? Are they all made from the same frame factory? I just want something to keep up wtih my kid when we go to the convenience store.... I doubt it will see an off road track.... This or Marlin 5? Thanks. I like the Marlin cosmetics better. Geometry looks similar.
does it come on n 27.5 inch tires and is it good on the trails
No it only comes on 29 but you can get different size frames it is good on trails. I have since upgraded to the comp version which has the lockout forks lockable derailer and an extra gear in the rear.
How do you think about the deluxe version?
i got this bike recently and have had loads of problems with chain slips, chain coming clean off, and my fork compression is messed up. Are you having the same problem?
i got this bike like 3 weeks ago it shift great chain hasent fallen my fork is great and i have been riding it hard on trails
Front is not straight when i tried to ride if handle turned right tires turned left not balanced what do u think what might be the problem?? Plzz let me know do u think they send me damaged one
It sounds to me that the the bikes stem isn’t grabbing onto the forks make sure that it’s tightened up with the Allen key on top otherwise yes you may need to go back to the supplier
I might be getting this bike it looks epic!
Yeah awesome bike I’ve since upgraded to the stride comp version as it comes with the lockout forks, extra rear gears and lockable deraileur
@@jdbourke75 hey I am leaning now towards the stride Delight 650$ at 99 bikes would u suggest The Silverback Stride Delight for a first rider?
@@rexxty4270 No I would stick with the stride sport or the stride comp as they are both 1x I got mine from 99 bikes ask the question on price I got the stride sport for $699
I’m kinda on a budget, and the delight has perfect reviews. why do you not suggest the delight?!
@@rexxty4270 All depends what you want it for do you want it for commuting just riding around the streets? Or do you want to take it on Mt bike tracks if that’s the case it’s not for the tracks, But would suit riding around the streets.
How do you make the suspension lower. Please let me know!
are the wheels V-shaped? I have a bike with V-shaped rim and I can't find a tube with long enough stem (approx 51cm)
The mag, v shaped, should probably be the same as a spoked rim
Can it pick up speed with the 32t crankset on flat paths?
Yes I can pick up exceptional speed on the flat path’s no I’ve since bought the silverback in the comp version and put on a narrow wide 32tooth chain ring
Hi mate what size of this bike I saw ur other video as well. I want to buy one but coz of lockdown can’t visit store So need to order online. So this will be my first bike so I don’t have any idea what size will good for me. As i am 172cm tall. 99 bikes advanced me md size but i want to make sure with some one who already have it. Then i watched ur video Could u pls tell me what is the size of ur bike and how tall you are?so according to that i can choose bike size for me Thanks a lot
available in US ?
Is this a dirt jumper bike and will it be good for very muddy and dusty conditions and doing big jumps it will probably be the first bike I get.
i got this bike and i have alot of trouble with it, chain keeps slipping and i have trouble with the fork. I would recommend a norco hardtail.
Wait is this the Silverback stride delight?
No it’s the sport... i now have the comp model due to having no the lock out forks and an extra gear on the back!
@@jdbourke75 Do you know a good mountain bike for under $ 600 and below in Australian currency?
Is it's good for wheeling
Yeah
Hi I'm considering getting the either the Silverback Stride Comp or Elite from 99 Bikes. Could I get your thoughts with comparison?
Hi I recommend spending the extra on the comp silverback due to the ability of having the lockout forks and the extra gear you get in the rear and the clutch on the deraileur. You couldn’t buy these components separate and upgrade the stride cheaper than what you will pay for the difference between both👍
@@jdbourke75 i have the sport and have a cluth on my deralieur
@@mahmoudasarat1398 Yes at the moment bike manufacturers are just upgrading due to lack of component stock so you may find you do get a free upgrade.
so what was your final verdict on the bike? do you think it will be good for you?
Hi Tina no I sold the bike a week later and purchased a true hard tail which is on my other video. The bike was fine for just along the paths but not suited for any MTB tracks.
@@jdbourke75 I want the bike just for commuting purposes, will it be good for me ?
@@As-jr2lz If you want to bike Sollee for commuting that’ll be fine it was a comfortable bike to ride and had everything you need for a commuter!
It is good for off roading tracks
How does it hold up over riding it for a bit? I'm considering buying one
It holds up great! It’s a great beginners bike it ticks all the boxes for what you need at the price point I was at 99 bikes during the week and they had one there with an actual clutch Deraileur on it for the same price🤷🏻♂️
