my mom kept her married name just so there would not be confusion with her last name being different from her kids. of course this was back in the early 70s.

....I asked my bridesmaids n maid of honor to just have natural hair colors when the day came around. two out of the three had to dye their hair and they dyed their hair no problem, even with the wedding being 6 months before the original date. However my girls didn't give a shit because both of them love dying their hair regardless. AND MIND YOU, I only "asked" of this, because my moh n bridesmaids asked me when we all first sat down together. I hadn't thought about it before hand and tbh, wouldn't have been that upset if they didn't because I love my girls no matter what.

There are kids involved asking a mother to change their name to something different from her children is extremely entitled, disrespectful, etc! If there were no kids involved I don't feel like I'd want to keep my exes last name other than all the work, hassle, confusion, cost, etc that goes into legally changing your name, cards, accounts, etc. I spent over 50hrs changing my name after I got married in 2011. Mostly on the phone, but also several appts with social security, dmv, bank, school etc. It's a gigantic pain in the butt, and caused several issues in the first few years!

I used to work at a MMJ dispensary and we had customers park in the handicapped spots (with no placards) a lot. My manager would make them put their products back on the shelves, leave the store, repark, reenter the store (meaning having to get id and medical card out again and waiting in line) and then make their purchase. It added at least another 5+ mins onto their transaction. It was always, without fail, glorious to watch.

Just tell her anonymously, you can send a letter, or use an app for a fake number to text, or even make a throw-away email address. It's not your place to tell the bride that her groom is cheating on her. BUT! You can tell the bride that her bridesmaid is gossiping about her groom, and her sister, and spreading lies and slanders. That will spark the bride to INVESTIGATE the story, and she'll find out the truth from there. I mean, it could all very well be a lie. Maybe the bridesmaid wants the groom for herself, or wants to break up the marriage for some other reason. The bride should know that the bridesmaid is gossipping. You do NOT have to tell her the details of the gossip. Just say, "She's spreading rumors about the groom and your sister. It's problematic." That will satisfy your Girl Code half, and the "I barely know this person" half, both.

When I was in high school I worked in a small restaurant. She had the audacity to tell us it was from us and not a single person working there had colored hair in the slightest (all brunettes).

What you describe is another way of nepotism. Your father was responsible for the city and what he did is at least in my country seen as corruption and not professional. You should have gone to court, if you felt badly treated. Hope you are not bragging too much about that or the case is legally barred.

5:30 it's crazy that this man didn't realize how common it is for people to just keep the last name especially when kids are involved.. I personally kept my maiden name when I got married and both of my kids have their father's last name but they both look like me so there's never any questions about the last name.. on another note though that man needs to leave that insecure little girl.. if you can't handle that the guy you're with has an ex-wife and kids then just don't date people who have kids it's not that difficult

Yep my mum still has my dads last name and they separated 6 years ago and divorce finalised a couple years after. Only thing she’s changed her name back to her maiden name on is her Facebook so legally it’s the same as me and my sister’s last name. Also too much effort 😂
