Native Trout Barriers, Pike County, PA - Wooly Bugged
In this episode I travel to Pike County, Pennsylvania for the first time to fish for native brook trout and wild brown trout. I find a 3 miles long freestone tributary that flows through wild terrain. Deep into the woods, the stream moves through a steep descent and cascading waterfalls. These falls create a natural barrier between the non-native wild brown trout and the native brook trout. This brook trout population isolated. Is this good or bad? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Fly Fishing Wild Browns, 45 Minutes From NYC - Wooly Bugged

In this video I meet up with my friend Dante and we head to an undisclosed stream in New Jersey that holds a healthy population of wild brown trout and is located less than 45 minutes from New York City. I didn't believe it until I fished it. Wild trout find a way. I fish my 7'-3wt Yamame glass rod in this video but had I known the size of the stream I would've brought a longer rod. The fish in...

In this video I head to Potter County, Pennsylvania to fly fish a small freestone brook trout stream and test out the new LivelyLegz Net Man. This introduction into the net holding product category provides a way for "blue-line" fishermen to quickly unholster their net to scoop a fish. Watch the video to see it in action. The video also includes many sightings of Yellow Sally Stoneflies and sev...

This is the first in a series of videos where I meet up with my friend Jared to take the Land Rover Defender into the backcountry of Pennsylvania in search of wild trout. This stream is typically difficult to fly fish because the fish are spooky in low water conditions. Wit...

In this video I explore new wild trout water in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. Streams in this area were seeing low summertime water conditions just a week prior to the filming of this video. You have sold me on the squirmy wormy, I have never fished one before but I think I'm now a believer. My gf took me on a guided wade trip on this river on June 11th this year, we lucked out so much, was overcast and 60 degrees that day, water was sub-60 degrees too. I caught over 20 all on dries and my gf caught 6 all on dries (her first time fly fishing). It is a beautiful river! Nice job out there, nice fish!

Used to fish a bamboo spinning outfit but the tip broke and that was that. This weekend I broke the fly rod I built forty years ago right out of college. I'm devastated and don't want to build new ones anymore. So, I've been researching bamboo and wanting to get back to that again. I'm looking for an 8' five weight so I can just put the reel I already have on it. They are expensive, but looking around I've found some places with discounts on them. How good they are I don't know. I'll find out.
