- In this video I explore new wild trout water in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. Streams in this area were seeing low summertime water conditions just a week prior to the filming of this video. Fortunately, a large weather front brought a few days of much needed rain that filled the mountain tributaries and provided excellent dry fly fishing conditions.
99% of my videos are self-filmed. 99% of my videos are on water that I've never fished. All streams are accessed on foot.

Excellent video, outstanding quality and fishing for native trout fishery!
Thank you very much!
Mike another great video. the beginning is priceless great special effects.
Thank you Skipper.
All your gear is amazing and the video is cool!!
Hey, thanks!
Outstanding video, Mike! Great to see you're back at it. Keep them coming 👍
Good stuff, Mike!!
Thank you Wild Trout Man!
We were at 58 in our local water the other day after a rain and it just keeps coming. Fish on! Western NY…now is the time for late season fun!
You are right, we are continuing to get much needed rain in some parts of PA here. And this week with the storm remnants coming up the cost, it gets better. There will be legitimate good mountain stream fishing in some places this summer. Remember to check temps!
Every now and again I love fishing small creeks, the opportunistic fish can bring some awesome fun fishing with light rods, I must say I’m pretty lucky to live in the snowy mountains Australia I’m surrounded by lake and rivers that can hold 20lb fish to creeks no bigger then a meter that can hold anything from 10cm to 2-3lb their this one creek I absolutely love that hold both wild brooks and Rainbow trout and every cast you make into a poop along a undercut is unknown what you can catch.
Love watching your videos so peaceful and enjoyable.
Geez, I need to come to Australia to fish in your streams! Wanna pay for my plane ticket!
@@WoolyBugged we can swap if you like! 😂
Awesome!
Glad you think so!
Mike - Nice workout for the Yamame by those wild brookies & browns. I liked the drone footage to open the video. Excellent camera set up to capture those hookups. Thanks for another fine video!
Thanks Gary, yes the Yamame got a lot of work on this one, haha.
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Where are you based out of?
@@WoolyBugged I am just south of the Ozarks!
Great video. Population of larger brook trout in that stream.
You got that right!
Sullivan County is blessed with many beautiful brookie streams, I spent quite some time investigating them. I'm surprised you didn't have to do any major bush wacking or scaling down cliffs.
There are definitely a few streams where I've done that!
Mike, you continue to raise the bar with each new video! Excited to see you on water that's familiar to me as well. I've had great success on all the tribs on that side of the watershed, even those that are more easily accessed. Sullivan, whether the east side or the west side of the county is a true gem. Thanks for doing it justice with your footage! Keep them coming!
Thanks Curtis, I appreciate that. We live in a beautiful state.
Thanks for sharing this trip. awesome fish. definitely see the dark colors influenced by that tannic water, I think. great video. best wishes.
Thank you!
the production is getting insanely good
Thanks Parker, learning along the way!
Great Video Mike! Nice to see ya back making videos
Ya man, same to you. I watched that last one you did just the other night. Those takes you capture are awesome. When are we gonna fish? We gotta make that happen in the fall of this year or spring 2022.
I love it in Sullivan county.
Great footage. Keep doin what ur doin!
Thanks, you too!
Those were some really nice brookies! Thanks for another awesome video!
Thanks Hillbilly! Hope you’re doing well and staying cool!
Great job Mike... Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Rich!
Brookies are my favorite
So yes
Small streams clear water lots of Brookies.
Which of course I know there are no guarantees
Any info you got!
Thanks KB
Thanks for the tips!
I am going to hit up Sullivan county!!! Beautiful fish
Check it out. Lots of beautiful public land in that area and surrounding counties!
Alright, seriously...your videos are a master class in small stream casting. Would love to see a video of the different casts you utilize on these streams, particularly the one you use to push a fly way up under structure. Thanks for the videos!
That's not a bad idea, perhaps I'll do a video where I talk about some of the casts I use. Thanks for watching and for the nice comments.
Very nice Mike! Always great to see you doing your thing on the small streams! That brownie was beautiful!!!
Thanks White Dog. I saw you are releasing your series this evening, I'm interested to check that out.
@@WoolyBugged Thanks Mike! I've never put so much effort into anything fishing related lol. Hopefully people will find it really helpful!
Great video. I appreciate all the education you give us. Looking forward to utilizing the app. What type of net are you using , name and size. I like it.
I'm currently using a handmade net by 142 Supply Co.
Beautiful trout, little jewels! Wonderful scenery and stream. Excellent casting in very difficult lanes. Well done!
Thank you Gerald, I appreciate that. Casting on the small streams certainly helps hone the skill.
Beautiful waters, excellent video Mike, well done as usual, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Ron!
Hey Mike, could you do a general video on how to find good brookie streams? Not asking for any of your spots but just the kinds of places and things we should look for when prospecting a stream.
I'll consider putting something together with some basics. Some of the more advanced things people are doing, like cross referencing information and analytics are more closely guarded secrets.
@@WoolyBugged I know I and a lot of others would really be interested in seeing that video!
Mike, another awesome video. I grew up fishing small mountain streams and it never gets old. There's always that next hole heading up stream and a fish that you just never know. Keep up there great work. Tight Lines.
I always talk about that with other brook trout fisherman. You always want to see what's around that next corner and there is always a sinking feeling when the stream runs out.
Mike as I fumble my way through learning how to fly fish (I am awful at it) you keep me inspired. Thanks for keeping me always pumped for the next adventure! Just ordered myself one of your snap backs and I’m sure it’s gonna catch me all the fish. Keep doing what you do!
Thanks Riff, I appreciate that. Keep at it, you'll get there. I took me a long time to go through the learning curve just to get started. You really never stop learning in this sport.
Hey Mike new sub, so glad I found your channel! Beautiful streams and fish. Looking forward to watching all your vids! Take care, Steve @Blackflycreations
Thank you Steve, appreciate the nice comments!
This is awesome!
Nice stream, nice brookies, nice video. Good job.
I appreciate it
sadly we haven't gotten a LICK of the rain down south :(
I hope you get some. We are fortunate right now to be getting good amounts in parts.
Wow mike.the footage is awesome.love the mountain stream fishing.great job.
Thanks Mike!
Would that happen to be double run near worlds end S P near Forksville? I have a second home near there.
Amazing video mike !!!
Thank you!
We have been going to raystown lake every 2 years for the past 16 years

The info you gave me was great
I’m going to fish Miller run when we go.
That take at around 10:19 was a perfect view! Excellent work brother!
Thanks Tyler, the net is working great!
Great video Mike! I loved the overall scenery of the stream. Seems like the good rain keeps coming. We will take all we can get for the rest of the summer!
Hey Jon, ya we are fortunate to be getting all this rain. There couldn't be anything better after the way things went last summer. I hope this continues through July to survive August.
Hi Mike! Good addition with the drone footage. I was surprised to see the little brown on that high gradient stream. Little far up for him I guess. Really quality bookies and another wonderful video. I'm envious cause I've had pneumonia for the last month and just starting to get my breath back. So great to see you in action. Thanks for what you do. Chuck
Thanks Chuck. Ya, I don't know if those browns live there permanently or if they migrated for the summer from the larger water the trib dumps into. Hard to say. I was surprised to find them in there.
I’m going to raystown lake in 2 weeks
Any suggestions where to fish?
For wild trout? Like brookies?
Man, that stream really looks amazing. I need to get out to PA to hit some of those small brookie streams up
You should!
@@WoolyBugged Is there a particular stream (and maybe even access point) you would recommend for chasing brookies? Doesn't have to be your favorite or most secret spot of course, but just something that you'd recommend? I live in NYC and mostly fish in northwest NJ so I don't really have any info on PA streams - any advice would be super helpful! Also let me know if you're interested in any NJ recommendations
@@yoursweatersux send me an email through my website and we will exchange some messages.
Nice video, but opening drone shot was a tad to long.
Ya, it was. More for artistic effect, some won't like it. Thanks for watching.
@@WoolyBugged I liked the shot, but i suggest it should have lasted about half the time. Your videos have great production values.
Mike great job!!! Headed out this weekend after the rain too.
Can you tell me what camera you are using please? Thanks
Really nice video Mike. Thanks for being there when I can’t. Just curious whether hippers would be cooler to hike in rather than chest waders?
I've tried that Doug but many of the hip waders don't have great breathability. I'll tell ya, I really like these new Simms Featherweight Waders. They are super light, breathable, and amazingly durable for how thin they are.
@@WoolyBugged ok cool. Makes sense. I keep looking for breathable hippers. I have a pair of Orvis breathables from 8-10 years ago. They’re holding up and I just wore them again when I fished PA in May. They are so much better than waders but the key is breathable. And I did wade over the tops on the upper Ruby in Montana.
I really respect what you do. Producing the videos is huge effort. They are well shot and edited. Love the new angles in this one. Thanks so much!!!
@@Wildtr0ut Chota hippies maybe an option for hip waders, I don’t have them but have been considering them.
Mike: outstanding footage and beautiful stream. The wild brown and the 2 brookies at 12:00 and 12:41 were amazing. What length and size leader are you using? Thanks
In the summer I use 5-6X leaders depending on how clear the water is. In this video I was using a 7.5’ leader cut back a bit with 12” of fluorocarbon 5X tipper to the fly.
If you could send me your email
That would be great.
I can’t find it.
