- Video of Michael Evanko visiting the Harrisburg Chapter of Project Healing Waters for their annual two-fly event. He sits with the founder of the Harrisburg chapter, Glenn Klinger, to learn about what Project Healing Waters is all about. Evanko also interviews John Killinger, the founder of a new Project Healing Waters chapter in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. Please see the links below to learn more about how Project Healing Waters is changing the lives of U.S. military veterans.
Evanko also takes a trip to Frederick County, Maryland in search of wild brook trout. He fishes a tributary of the Potomac River and catches several brook trout on a dry dropper rig. The water temperatures at the time of filming were in the upper 50s.

Great video, Mike. Thank you for supporting our veterans. The rewards come back to you ten fold!
Another great video Mike!!! Can’t wait to hook up! Sounds like an awesome group! Haven’t fished much upstate or new Harrisburg but heard it’s so much more brookie streams, wild brown streams, and just the overall water quality is better! Not going to complain though got some crazy local streams that I’m fortunate to gain access to through local landowners. The one landowner is even helping add new holes and adding new rocks to make the stream even better near me! Maybe one day it will turn into an amazing wild brown trout fishery! It’s full of fish, but needs a lot of work. Creeks only like 5 minutes away from me so I’m blessed to have such great creeks in my area. Sometimes I forget theirs people out there that have no trout in their area, so fortunate for what I have💯. Project healing waters sounds like an awesome organization! Nothing like being out there in the outdoors, and being in nature! Blessed to honor our vets for all they do for us! Damn it’s too bad that creek is mud red! Heard in prime condition the Wisconisco is a gem of a creek. Keep up the awesome work Wolly and tight lines!!!💯💯🐟🐟🎣🎣
Osny_fishing_adventures thanks Owen. Do you know that it has now rained 7 Sundays in a row? One of these weekends it’s gonna happen buddy!
Wooly Bugged Sunday’s just not worked out lmao this coming Sunday it’s going to rain again 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 hope I can get out Sunday, not sure if I’m checking out a new bass pond or fishing some new trout water, got my first bass ever on the streamer in my next video! Got a big premiere coming up today at 6pm if you can catch it. Had an amazing day at the yellow breeches run with my newest fly fishing buddy, and I hooked up into some nice fish as well as my buddy! I hooked a massive rainbow trout had to be 23 at the minimum couldn’t believe it hahaha can’t wait to meet up with you whenever that will be hahaha we will get it in!!! Tight lines Mike!💯💯💯🎣🎣🎣
Thanks Mike, very good and kind of you supporting our Veterans. Oorah. As always your photography is superior and how do you describe Brook Trout. Living jewels. First fish in my life was a 3” Brooke. I have not recovered till this day. Tommy.
zenbooter I love it Tommy!
@@WoolyBugged I hear Ya Mike, kudos as always.
Great work Mike! Happy to see you involved with project healing waters again! It's amazing what the therapeutic benefits of fly tying and fishing can give someone. Thanks for helping spread the word. Keep up the good work! Always love your videos!
jonathan fuddy thank Jon! And as you mentioned, fly fishing has so many benefits beyond just catching fish. See ya at Pine Creek!
Another great video. Thank you for sharing.
Mike Smith thanks Mike, hows the fishing been?
@@WoolyBugged Hi Mike, I've been slowed down due some family health issues. I hope to get some fishing in during the sulfur hatches coming soon. Keep your videos coming, I've learned a lot watching you. Thanks much and tight lines.
Very cool video Mike.... watching your videos inspired me to go out and buy a fly rod and flies and go back to it and get back into fly fishing
matt Ginithan thank you for your kind words. What you just said is why I do this. Knowing that you will possibly have the sport for the rest of your life is incredible. Stick with it!
@@WoolyBugged I plan on it .. I was into it heavily as a teen and kind of faded out of it and then when the CZcams suggested vids showed your channel and I started watching them I felt the itch to pick it back up... went out got a new rod and reel and bought some bead and non bead head selections of prince nymphs pheasant tail nymphs San Juan worms and some salmon egg patterns and of course now the rain has put it on hold for me lol... I'm trying to find some squirmy worms and psycho prince nymph patterns as well to add to the box of flies... haven't had much luck I'm my area though... hope to run into you some day in my part of central pa we have alot of good trout water both class a and stocked in mifflin county and a few hidden gems no one really knows of .. tight lines mike
Mike, nice work as always. The segment on Project Healing Waters was particularly enjoyable and informative. Always good to give something back to the folks in the military, past and present, who keep the wolves from the door so we can enjoy the lifestyles we do. Not big on tats, but that brook trout was cool! Thanks and God bless!
B Dickinson you hit the nail on the head sir. Many people take for granted the freedoms we enjoy daily. They don’t realize things didn’t just end up that way organically. Many men have died and suffered for our freedoms.
Great Video Mike..
Thanks for getting back to the Military People. That have sevred..
God Bless You..
Frankie Shoenfelt thanks for your service Frankie. I thought I’d see you up in Cross Fork with Rich B.
@@WoolyBugged had some things come up. To prevent me from joining you guys..

She got her Biggest Trout. It was a Great Day..
Im sure you got Blessed to Work with a Veteran...
Thanks for Supporting a Great Cause..
Thank you for taking the time to inform us about Project Healing Waters. Also, glad you were able to explore some beautiful native brookie streams this side of the Mason-Dixon.
Thank you Mike for sharing this wonderful video of the Project Healing Waters! Such an amazing program!!! Keep up the great work! Tight lines!!
Chris Heimel thanks Chris, I appreciate that. The organization truly does a great thing for our veterans.
Its a good thing that you do giving back, thank you!, Good Job on the video. I always carry size 18 elk hair caddis for the wild trout streams, since a lot of the trout are smaller, however I have landed several larger wild trout on this fly, again, keep up the good video's, thanks again.
Ronald Bowser thanks Ron! I need to start carrying some smaller dries. I like using CDC Caddis. That stuff floats great!
Hey, Mike, your commitment to Healing Waters is awesome. That’s good work by you.
Also love the looks of dismay on the missed fish. Thought it was just me. Looking forward to more vids
Good to see u back in action. This time of year a Very Small frog like the spring peepers would be a good try to tie for a dry dropper perhaps. I'm thinking about how I could imitate one
Charles Gaither that’s an interesting idea. I wonder if a brookie could handle a cicada?
Brookies are good on beetles, cicadas seem huge for a little Brookies. A big one would have no trouble. I tied a very small foam frog. Size 12, 2cling hook foam body cut to resemble the shape of a small frog with rubber legs. White and yellow belly. More worried about the sillouet than color. Going to try it as a dry dropper soon.
That should have read. Size 12, 2x long hook
Good to see you in MD! However, if you are gonna fish here can you at least hit me up on IG :) I can show ya around some more. Thanks for what you are doing for Healing Waters. At some point I need to take that leap and help out such a wonderful organization! Tight lines Mike!
Tight Lining MD sorry buddy it was a last minute decision and mbrenna had just been there and had me thinking. Next time! You should check out PHW! Hope you’ve been catching fish in between the rain we’ve been getting.
@@WoolyBugged I have looked over their website. I will have to coordinate a way to get involved in some way. Thanks for the video that explains how. We will link up eventually. I respect the last minute trip. Usually I have no idea what creek, day, or time I will go fishing until the day of, so I get it.
