I've recently discovered mudlarking thru your videos, Si. I'm a retired RN and am in no shape to go out excavating about in the outdoors. You and your friends bring me much joy with your sense of humor, love of old glass and bottles and stuff, and your creativity in reusing found objects in your art. Thank you!!

A drunk koala . My grandpa had cows who grazed in the Pear Orchard would eat the slightly fermented pears and stagger all about and mooed very silly. Your quip made that memory pop into my mind. great finds in the much.

Why can't you sell the stuff you find in the Thames? It seems to me that a government would be happy for people willing to clean junk from a waterway that they'd not frown on what's done with the stuff. If people can find a way to put the stuff to use again, they should be able to make a few bucks.

The wood looks like green heart / Chlorocardium rodiei or could maybe be purple heart or subspecies . Both are dense woods used for docks and beach management and very rot resistant. Definitely not oak and any wood related questions drop me a message mate . Love it though, fantastic use of the finds . The glass looks like a dome from a vintage coughtrie swan neck light or an explosion proof light .

Wow I’d so love to do this! How amazingly kind of you to give those detectors away too. You are so generous and I love the way you share your passion with others! Only just getting into all of this and I can’t stop watching all the vids! I’ve got a very cheap almost a toy of a dectector! Gives me hope I may one day find something 😂 so far all I’ve found is tent pegs and other iron rubbish 😂 I don’t think it detects far enough down! Looking forward to more vids in the future!

I think the coat buttons are some of your best finds..to think it's come off something someone wore many moons ago...and why is it there...is the rest of the shirt or coat there too....is the body with the coat or shirt still there!! ( that is a spooky button I must say Si!)

Some of those tea strainers were German Silver, like the snaps from old purses. I think you knocked some bark off that tree limb!!! Ha ha ha ha!!

For safety’s sake,you’re best off using the base of the blade to cut.Using the tip,as you did,risks the saw being thrown back into your face if the chain grabs.Petrol chainsaws have a chain brake to stop this,your electric one doesn’t.Please google some chainsaw safety rules/vids before you lose half your face.
