    Every knife maker in the modern era thinks that you need some crazy super steel to make a good knife, but filet knives get used a lot and generally get treated very poorly. This makes 440c a great steal because it's durable and doesn't get too hard allowing for easy sharpening.

    Sir, I can tell by the blades in the background, you're an aficionado of edged weapons--I was hoping to see tests on more than weeds and a small branch. The cheapest quality blade can match that performance. I'm truly interested in one of these Kukris, but am hearing reviews of blades snapping at the tang/handle point. I'd welcome seeing a a "Forged in Fire" type strength test prior to paying the respectable $$ for such a blade. Thanks!!

    Real Ray Skin = 2 plastic pieces. Real hamon = a mental cut out template of hamon pattern places on the blade then makes it looks like "real hamon".

    Question, what weight of sword would you recommend starting with. I’m going to be essentially starting from nothing. Second: here are some friendly recommendations. If you are going to be doing videos like this audio is important. 1. Get a microphone to clip to the front of your shirt I would recommend a Bluetooth one. Yes you will get noise, but that gets fixed later. (go off of reviews) 2. Use your phone to film brother. If you don’t have a good one go iPhone, they’re most user friendly. Plus there are tons of tutorials. The pro series is best series. But if you want bells and whistles go Samsung. Both have there virtues. 3: soft lighting tutorials and rigs are super straightforward. Finally editing and editing software. Unfortunately this is where my knowledge has ended. iPhone makes the lighting aspect a little easier as it corrects a lot on its own where as Samsung is really really really adaptable. Learning that takes a long of work though but is cheaper long term as software is a bit more universal with android. Apple…. Well. It’s apple…. You need a Mac to get it all to work to the max but it’s all in one place and you just need to learn it…. And subscribe to its custom editing service or get and AppStore app. They don’t care as long as they get here pound of flesh. But it is REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY EASY…….. 😐😐😐😐 I just can’t emphasize that enough…

      I would recommend a sword around 2 pounds that is balanced at the handle. If you want a blade heavy sword for more forearm training go with falchion blade style or cutlass. Any longer blade will make your forearms fatigue faster. A bokken or shinai will work for good training. Thank you for the helpful recommendations. As I get the budget to improve my equipment I will add those things.

    Crzy how many people i seet cutting water bottles and not bothering to wipe the blade before putting it in the saya. Good way to tell if someone is trained or training themselves.

    • @theweaponscollectiveedge863
      @theweaponscollectiveedge863 Před 2 měsíci

      Yeah, I definitely wipe the blade down with oil after the video and let the saya air dry for the day. It does make me cringe knowing how quickly water can rust a blade. Thanks for pointing that out, as some would believe it is ok like you stated.

    420hc has about 046% Carbon. Medium carbon at best, but can be a good value performer if not paying too much. 420j2 has a loose specification and could have less than half the Carbon of 420hc. Seen on a lot of cheap kitchen knife sets. Gets the job done but may need attention every few months, more or less, depending on how much you use it. Haven't seen any 420 variants in other machetes recently. Very interesting. Thanks.

    Check data again friend! It is neither Persian (which never used this kind of sword), nor Iberian. The "falcata" is the name, Romans gave to the preexisting from the bronge age "kopis" which is a Greek design and quite thick to bend. This is a typical sword used also by the army of Alexander the great, which spreaded the blade design through the ancient world, up to the Nepalese kukris. Various sizes were used from butchering to utility knives, as seen on clay vessels of the time.
