- I'm reviewing 2 knives that I got as a gift for my birthday from my friend Bryce. Thank you for the great present. The thrower is 1050 high carbon steel. The Tanto is 8Cr13MoV stainless steel.

Beautiful scenery, NICE fish, and cool knives!
Beautiful.
Intriguing! Kind of a throwing kukri? It seemed to want to roll in the no-spin throw, but looked very stable in the spin. Keep us updated if you decide to mod it!
Yeah the thrower is definitely weighted and shaped for spin throwing. I think I will continue to throw it spin style and leave it has is.

Have 2 La Fontaine, not only great as a thrower, you can use them actually for Bushcraft. And funny enough my other knive is also a CS Tanto. The Master in CPM3V, an excellent slicer.
Excellent. Do you throw spin style or no spin? It thru best for me spin style because of the extra forward weight. And like you said it makes a great chopper for bushcraft.
@@theweaponscollectiveedge863 it depends on the distance, - 5 yards no spin, 5 - 10 yards half spin 10 - 15 yards full spin works best for me.
And for working I just add a paracord handle, that's fine. The LA Fontaine has replaced my Kukri that I've bought in Pokhara 30 years ago.
that Kukri would have been an even better thrower if it had a Kunai style hilt
