You don't need to know everything, but you do need to be interested in everything. I got in for Classics and we talked about instinct in my interview, specifically spiders spinning webs. They are looking for drive, curiosity and potential, not for you to be a walking encyclopaedia.
I definitely have to visit Oxford one day!
Hi there! I had a query... I am looking to apply to oxford for undergrad in medicine but i could findno scholarships available for the course on the official website.... I am an international student. Are there any?
You can search for undergrad scholarships here: www.ox.ac.uk/students/fees-funding/search/undergraduate Note that spaces for international students to study medicine are capped by the UK government: www.medsci.ox.ac.uk/study/medicine/pre-clinical/applying/international
My goat hope I get to see you one day at Oxford
Was a pleasure meeting you at the open day on Thursday
Its so architecturally beautiful. They are all like little Castles with green courts/parks in the middle. Just out of curiosity how do you get people to interact with others from other Colleges. I suppose there are clubs you can join. How do you stop people cliquing up and forming tribes? Not that I think forming tribes is a bad thing but its good to share different interactions with other tribes lol.
The subjects are all centrally administered by the university. So lectures and labs etc are a mix of all colleges. And, you’re right that clubs cross colleges.
If you don’t have brilliant GCSE results but have subsequently been assessed and given extra time for A levels and have all A* predictions, is it still worth applying to Oxford. If so, should you explain this change in performance in your personal statement. Thanks.
Yes, it's worth applying. Ask a teacher to corroborate this background context in their reference on the UCAS form.
@@JesusCollegeOxford1571 Thanks very much.
another reason to for catholic unis
Ahhhh, what a nice video! I could have done with this when I got rejected from Lincoln for English in 1995. Still, better late than never! 🤣 It actually made me feel good about my rejection all these years on! I went on to get an English degree from Royal Holloway, whose English department was pretty highly ranked at the time. It still is, but not as high as then. Afterwards, I got a master's in English from the University of Sussex, chosen because I'm from Brighton and my dad was a lecturer at Sussex Uni, so we got a discount. Therefore, each time, I couldn't have gone to Oxford. And now I work at a famous book publisher, for an old and highly respected imprint, editing famous, household-name authors. So I'm probably exactly where I would have been if I'd got into Oxford, because my aim was always to work in book publishing. This tutor is right; not getting in to Oxford really does not hold you back. Sidenote: I married a Cambridge man. I have found that if you don't get into Oxbridge, you can marry someone who went there and be Oxbridge-adjacent always. 😂😂😂
I enjoyed the open day a lot, but now super confused in which college to apply to; all the colleges were amazing.
Hi Matt! Hope to perhaps see you in August? Will you be around? 😊
Yes!
@@JesusCollegeOxford1571 That’s wonderful. Fingers crossed! 😊Hope all‘s well with you and your family!

Beautifully said.
Hello , I would like to apply in october 2024 for october 2025 entry ( God willing ) . Oxford is early entry( october 15) but the TSA is on the 24 october? . How does this work?
You register for the TSA before you submit UCAS, but take it afterwards.
Spent the last 2 days exploring the uni it is a beautiful uni with plenty of interesting individuals.
It was really nice visiting Jesus college and meeting you in person
Even your short videos are inspiring.
Thanks very much!
Hello sir, i'm from india loved your all vedios, there's a question i'm curious to know, actually my 12th grade wasn't that good enough so my question is do they look at other that tiny qualities knowing that my grades were mad or just skip my application after seeing grades, i'm planning to do masters btw
Thanks for your comment! If you’re planning a masters, then your results in the batchelor’s degree will matter and school qualifications likely will not, if that helps.
@@JesusCollegeOxford1571 tysm for helping us, loved you content
@@JesusCollegeOxford1571 i have another question, the thing's is i did some research on oxford website for my course and this thing was written that no gre or GMAT required ( by any chance is that mean that no entrance test required only interveiw & application?) Am i right or not please let me know

Good evening sir I am an international student so i have not had the chance to do an EPQ but have done some of my independent research(writen a research paper) (not published). Can i include that in my personal statement
Yes, for sure. Tell us what you found with your research.
Thank you sir
Will 4 A Level subjects be more competitive than 3 A Level subjects? (Will 3A* look better than 3A*1A?) How will Oxford decide the grades on a conditional offer? Thank you.
No, for Oxford there are no degrees for which you need four A-levels, and having four does not yield a comparative advantage. By all means take four, if you have the passion and commitment to pursue four. But we look at A-levels alongside other application data -- notably admissions tests and interviews -- where four A-levels might actively distract from preparing well. The only degree that can make conditional offers on four subjects is Earth Sciences, and even then they will make offers on three.
Oxford is so basically Cambridge worse.
Wild camera work!😎
The cinematography is excellent. Oxford's charm and appeal go beyond academics; it’s also the vibrant community and connections outside the classroom set amidst a stunning and historically rich campus. Excited to be visiting in the fall!

Hi, I've just finished my A Levels and I was wondering whether Oxford looks at whether you are currently studying at a university when applying while making their decision. I had low predicted A Levels the year before, hence I did not apply to Oxford but I would like to do so this year.
We look at everything you include on the UCAS form. I don't know whether you are obliged to include the fact that you're studying at another uni on that form. But I wouldn't be concerned either way. We take applications from uni students and can offer places without problem.
@@JesusCollegeOxford1571 Thanks so much for replying, this really helped. I've been quite worried about this. Is there any need to explain why I would like to move uni's/course?
@@Stevens23430 I don't know if you'd even have to state that you're at a uni already. If you do need to put this down then you don't need to explain it necessarily. It will be assumed that you have your reasons. Be sure not to psychologically let go of your current uni too much, bc Oxford admissions can never be guaranteed and will be competitive. In other words, you don't want to be a position where you are best off staying at your current uni and regretting it. Perhaps look on it as giving Oxford a try, but being happy whether it works out or not.
Basically don't write "I like history because it is fun"
❤🙏
could you do these videos also for graduate students' applications?
Hi, I’m a student who studies at a private school with very high scorers. In the GCSE exam series's, I drastically underperformed due to a lack of effort, which I of course have no excuse for. I would like to know if I do really well in A levels, which I’m confident I can do, and do many supercurricular activities, as well as doing great in the admissions test, is it possible to have a chance of admission?
Yes, there's a chance. There are many reasons why GCSEs may not represent your potential, which is why we gather a range of data from prospective applicants.
@@JesusCollegeOxford1571 Thank you so much!
I don't believe a word he has said...I'm doubting that his name is Matt
