    Insightful video as always Matt. Just wanted to thank you for all the amazing content that you’ve posted here. I was fortunate enough to receive an offer to read law at Oxford in January - your mock interviews and videos demonstrating how to “think” were incredibly useful for me during the application process! All the other colleges ought to learn from you - these videos reach a far larger audience than other forms of “outreach.” Alex

    Hi Matt! I've been watching some of your videos on TSAs recently, and been really enjoying them. I'm not even close to applying to uni yet (I'm in S4 in Scotland) but the puzzles are pretty fun and your tips are applicable to a lot of life problems I've faced.
    I do find myself distracted, though, by your shirts. The collars are wonderfully patterned on the inside and I've been wondering -- is there a particular name for them? I need to get a shirt for an event and I truly aspire after yours.

      Thanks! That's kind. I don't think there's a particular name for them. There's just a nice shirt shop in Oxford, which is very dangerous! There'll be something similar in Glasgow/Edinburgh if they're anywhere near you!

    I'm planning on doing A-level Chemistry, maths and physics and I would like to study astrophysics or aerospace engineering (I think). I'm wondering if my 4th choice for A levels should be biology or further maths and if it would make a huge difference. My school only allows a few people (about 4) to do a level further maths- and it has to be a 4th choice. I'm also not sure if for engineering my lack of technology or computer science GCSE's will affect it. Not sure if you'll be able to help, but I'm not sure where to ask for advice. Thank you!

      Both Physics and Engineering at Oxford list FM as "helpful" and many successful applicants will have this. Your lack of technology or CS GCSEs will not be a problem.

    Hey Matt...this is a request to you from my side please consider it....please make a separate video with full details of the procedures that Oxford follows to select the undergraduate international students to offer the fully funded scholarship programs.....I want to take up Psychology, philosophy and linguistics as my combination, so it would be helpful for me to get rid of the narrative that I possess of "only rich people can afford to study in Oxford" .....I do have financial crisis and that is the reason I have my concern about this certain thing

    • @JesusCollegeOxford1571
      @JesusCollegeOxford1571  Před 2 měsíci

      It's certainly not true that only rich people can afford to study in Oxford. But, (as is common with all universities), sources of funding are much more plentiful for those resident in the same country. I'm sorry to read of your financial crisis, and I wish you all the best. There is no secret formula for success in scholarship applications. Your best bet is to see what is available and give an application your best attempt. It will be highly competitive, but to succeed you have to participate: www.ox.ac.uk/students/fees-funding/search/undergraduate All best wishes

    Hey Matt another question, my Madhyamik exam (also known as secondary exam) in India which is equivalent to the GCSE exam of UK was not good at all... Basically I didn't meet up the expected grade that Oxford requires to understand that I could be capable of learning academically....Now honestly my academics in school doesn't suits me at all and I feel that it's very stressful for me to study in this way for which I never ever tried to discover earlier that I can be good academically too....now I'm preparing myself for the Higher secondary exam in India which is equivalent to the A levels in UK and so I'm thinking to apply the Oxford University after getting my A levels grades.....like generally a student should apply in the year of their A Levels but I want to apply after I get my results of my A levels ....so my question is am I doing the right thing like is it okay if I apply to Oxford after getting my results of A levels or should I apply to Oxford even if my GCSE grades doesn't meet the Oxford University's requirement..... please guide me with this

      If you're taking the CBSE, that should be fine. Please see here: www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/applying-to-oxford/for-international-students/international-qualifications You can actually apply more than once. In that, you could have a try at applying with predicted results in the CBSE, and reapply if you are unsuccessful with the grades a year later.

      @@JesusCollegeOxford1571 actually I don't study under the CBSE board...I study under my state board WBBSE......Well, in India, as there are so many states so there are different boards with respect to their state....CBSE is the Central board which is of course the main board but it depends on the schools of which board the schools want to follow....but still I think I got your point and I'll try.
