How do you thin the varnish from the tin?
Thanks for the information, great brushes.
Does it work on both enamel and acrylics ?
Why didn't you use Matt coat and enamel thinner at first time?
Unfortunately it’s a underrated product but it’s good
I dont know what youve done to your enamel paints but theyre terrible now, wont be buying any more.
What’s the difference between this and the Humbrol clear range?
Hi I got a question I'm building a SD Gundam and I want to use this kind of masking liquid the colors that I use is Mr color metallic can I use this Mexican liquid over the painting parts or I need to do something else
for windows grait stuff and for camoflage :) 5:00 wow i beliv you cann ot get bether results for chiping, for ships a must have :)
Very nice.
Hi there, can you help me please? I need to know if the acrylic dropper bottle paints and acrylic paint thinners are toxic.
Just got one for my birthday. Very disappointed . Very unstable on a flat surface it's high in the middle. Also they state it can be used on your lap but it's top heavy when resting on your lap it's unfit for purposes and is limited in use.
Bob Ross magic
Dangerous stuff this
Never thought of it as a chipping tool
I tried using Humbrol Decal Fix on a 1/16th Tiger 1 with zimmerit and it would not pull the decals into the contours, I ended up using Micro Set and Micro Sol, they worked perfectly.
Hi , what happens if I don’t use any thinner ???just brush it whit a brush ? Or can I use water instead of thinner ? Thank you
Can you advise which powders/colours you're using.
Thanks!
Great final result. Looks superb. I wish you had carried on and shown how you did your shading and wiring.
Its worth noting that while decalfix softens the decal nicely, it also leaves a glossy finish when dry. I discovered this today after applying decalfix to my spitfire that was painted matt. I had to re-cover the whole model in matt varnish as the decalfix left glossy patches on and around the decals. I dont think ill use it again on matt finishes.
I have used maskol, but don't understand when you use it, it seems so easy. When I use it, no sooner do I get the maskol on a brush, it quickly solidifies. How do you get it to be so easy to use
Deee-Cal
Thanks so much for showing me how to use this clear varnish .. how many layers by brush can you do over the decals please
Excellent introduction for a beginner. Thanks Steve.
If flat brushes are supposed to not leave any brush marks, then why do my Humbrol flat brushes do? (I’m using AG4305) I already applied primer but I still get brush strokes
Nice orange peel effect, i guess i won`t be buying the gloass coat then. Thanks for the helpful tip !
Thats probably due to the surface of the paints already applied, not the clear coat
After recently trashing a kit painted with Tamiya using Decalfix without knowing it would react with it... I'm not ready to do it all over again with the Maskol bottle I bought at the same time without being 100% sure it's safe to use on Tamiya paint... so, if anyone knows...
Now out of production and apparently, the only one that could be polished to a lustre, as well :-(
Wow! Pretty advanced but one for future reference and study!
Fascinating! I am only just getting back into modelling after a break of over thirty years - I am amazed by the range of paints and effects available these days. Thank you so much for demonstrating how easy and effective use of powders can be! You have a like and a new subscriber!
Is it possible to apply a primer with a brush as well?
You can yes, you just have to be careful not to make bubbles when doing so
Is it possible to use Isopropanole as thinner for Humbrol Acrylic paints?
The aluminium one is just what I need for my US Korean War Sabre Jet! I love the bare metal look. Seeing old footage of shiny metal Cold War fighter jets on nicely aged 35mm film is what inspires me to build fighter jets of yesteryear.
Thinking that using warm water every time I applied decals to a current build, I reasoned that letting the decals soak for five minutes in cold water would be just as effective! As I later found out, I may well have diluted the adhesive on the decal away to almost nothingness! Decalfix for me ASAP :-)
5 minutes? 😮 I always soak them for 30 seconds max, otherwise they soften up too much and are at risk of tearing. I tore one in half today by over soaking it. Luckily I managed to salvage it.
How or what do you clean your brushes with after using Humbrol Clear Cote? A friend told me to use a small drop of shampoo to clean any brush I've used with enamel paints and that works fine - I've had no subsequent problems using brushes I've cleaned this way (enamel being a solvent, so I'm told, it can glue the hairs or fibres together). So, what's best for cleaning a brush youve used Clear Cote with???
In my humble opinion I suspect that level of grime and smoke damage seen in the book probably occurred when the aircraft was originally shot down. The oil cooler sits directly beneath the engine. The first point where any smoke and escaping engine oil could escape the engine bay was through the lower engine cowling exactly where this appears to be. This is probably a historically accurate rendition on the model too as this was also forced down in a similar manner (Wk Nr 1480).
Did you Prime the model first?
The Hawker Hurricane had more kills than Spitfires in the Battle of Britain. Already in service by 1939, according to my Airfix 1:72 Hurricane instructions, it was the first single wing replacement for RAF biplanes!
Why is it more expensive than the Tamiya filler that comes from the other side of the globe?
Sorry, mate! All Europe is starving for Humbrol products... damm you, Brexit! 😫
This is next on my weekly shopping list. Groceries? Pah!
sure, i am going to amazon to buy this the fimish looks great
awsome
After allowing Humbrol Clear to fully clear, is it safe to use acrylic based washes and small amounts of acrylic thinner to remove excess wash?
Humbrol your website is not working 😕.
I love humbrol paints there really smooth and are fantastic sadly I don't live in England so I can't get daily access to the paints 😢
I know I'm very late to this but I applied decal fix and forgot to dab it , there's now a mark around the decal and I'm unsure on what to do
Great tuturiol do you know anything about the AK 3rd generation clear varnish gloss and the tinner that was the tinner they suggested I use to tin it both AK 3rd gen
How about "recommending" the best PSI to airbrush the products!
