Geoff, you’re an artist!
Another great technique and motivational video, thank you Geoff and Humbrol, I’ve been on Amazon buying stuff now!!
I've only done two models but I would probably put some scratches on the joins of moving surfaces.
Hi All, many thanks for your comments, they are (mostly) all very much appreciated I can tell you. The full build of this Hawker Hurricane is in SMN: www.scalemodellingnow.com/finishednow-aircraft Keep well! Geoff C.
Great stuff Geoff.
Can i ask your advice . Is it ok to use Humbrol clear acrylic varnish and then the decal fix together.
The Humbrol website videos say if you use the acrylic clear gloss on the model then apply the decals with decal fix you must mix water and dilute the decal fix as it will damage the gloss surface of the clear finish because both products are Ammonia based ?
Also does this mean that the acrylic clear is not permanent if say using the matt as a finish to display your model.
Again Geoff thankyou for the videos and advice
i think you're best going to scale modelling now to get an answer from geoff as this has all been recorded before Christmas
Hi Pete - so sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I hadn't realised the video set had gone live! As Damon says below, the full build is in SMN, just click the link (if you're a subscriber) on this page: www.scalemodellingnow.com/finishednow-aircraft
I didn't dilute the decal fix at all and it all worked fine? I'd follow their directions though to be safe. The other thing I do is leave the model for 2-3 days after applying the gloss varnish and make sure that it's rock hard and dry before attempting to apply any decals and this will reduce the chances of any adverse reaction. Best wishes, Geoff C.
Goodness me. Come on Humrol. Get a grip. Get someone who k is what they are doing to at least try and sell your products. A few 1000 views and 30 odd likes. Really? No wonder people buy Tamiya/AK/ MIG paints and washes etc. Groan
