    Fabulous product, Humbrol are improving all the time

    I have one and think it's great. Keeps a build where it's supposed to be and for large kit assemblies, everything simply picks up out the way rather than trying to mess around with sorting and putting away tools, paints etc. For me, money well spent.

    I have the outmost respect for humbrol products... however this only works for 1:72 scale products and even 1/72 jets its already small... i admit that the engeniering of the workstation is well conceived but for the price you pay doesn t brinkbthe cutting matt with it... Humbrol i have my most sincere respect for you as a company but on this one you have to improve... please note that i have this product and its only my opinion... respect for the work you do for almost more than 50 years

    Purchased this recently, it’s fabulous great product from Humbrol, maybe an A3 size cutting Matt station would be a great addition.

    i got this product as a gift to use for the winter months when my garage is to cold to build in. i do agree that the cutting matt should be included with it. since its humbrol only their paint line work with the paint holder which is bad since most modeller use a variety of paints so this is a bit of a waste of space. the larger holders work good for most thing. i don't use the paint brush holders since they flop around it get in the way. the instruction holder is a great idea and works okay. the sides of the tray do all the work and hold many extra tools and bits. it is very easy to move around when your done working and store out of the way. it works fine for 1:72 scale, but doing 1:48 is pushing it size, and the larger jets wont work with the trays limited size. all being said its not a bad mobile modelling station, iv bin using mine for a few months now. you can work at the kitchen table, move to the TV to watch a movie, or go outside at a table. great for a modeller limited on space.

      Agree about the size space limitation for 1/48 air and 1/35 armour. Obviously designed for 1/72 and kids getting into modelling, but still useful for its containment and portability nevertheless. Paint brush holders are useful for immediate short term holding of bushes and Tamiya paint stirrers, but yes, they flop around/get in the way too much for leaving them there longer than that. If Airfix/Humbrol would make a 'version for grown-ups' orientated to 1/48 & 1/35 with a cutting matt and its cutout the same size as Tamiya's which accommodated Vallejo dropper bottles (pretty much a standard) and Tamiya jars, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. And take a hint from Tamiya. Change that colour of that cutting matt to something against which medium and dark greys which the majority of kits in 1/48 and 1/35 are moulded in can be seen!

    Is it possible for a video on the all purpose air brush. I want to buy one, but no one seems to have reviewed it . . .

    Great product! I wish I can find it here! Not so much for a workbench because I already have one, but for cases that I want to do some modelling away from my bench. Could you make a video in the future about making realistic ground effects? I will definitely need it :)

    I think it's not wide enough. The idea is excellent but I built panes with a span of around half a meter or more and this won't work. If you make an XL of this, I'll certainly buy one.

  • @TonyStrongman

    Well thought out product. Expensive but no more so than other workstations. Seems, and I don't blame them, to be geared for only Humbrol paints. I would be interested to see if standard dropper bottles fit in the recesses too for example.

    • @theblytonian3906
      @theblytonian3906 Před 2 lety

      Agree. Similarly my complaint. I have one, and the Humbrol matt. I suspect they'd sell a bucket load more of them thus importantly exposing more modellers to their range of brands if they weren't so proprietary. I mean really, was it truly necessary or smart to make the recess and their cutting matt a different size from Tamiya's -and every other generic A4 cutting mat in the marketplace for instance. And who in the hell though up dark grey for the matt's colour? Ever tried to make one of the many many kits in the market today moulded in dark or medium grey plastic? Ugh! I get the proprietary paint storage bin size, but moulding those recesses to accommodate Humbrol tins AND either standard Vallejo/MiG/AK dropper bottles or Tamiya jars rather than the utterly pointless acrylic starter paints so rubbish anyone buying a starter kit bins anyway would have been so much smarter.

    I bought this and use it extensively. Its great when something needs to dry and thus be carted off to sit somewhere. Also when filing the dust sits in here rather than on the table. The side racks are fine as are the two bigger cup holders. What I feel is a little shortsighted is the paint bottle holders. They are only for Humbrol paint. Why limit it? I use Tamiya pretty much extensively but this is a superior stand to the one Tamiya has. I would...if there is a next generation..... make one where the paint bottles can take Tamiya paint bottles. After all it is business and why not have Tamiya users using this?

    As I build most of my kits at work, this is ideal, as I can quickly hide it if my boss turns up! Lol! Bit poor that it doesn't come with a cutting mat though!

    Unfortunately this workstation is not a good idea for paintbrush users or people who like to build a bigger set. Besides that I do miss a save slot for a hobbyknife of some type. The instructions should not be straight up, but slightly diagonally. Or even better would be a slot that could be placed in the position wanted by the user. Does need a simple way to lock in position. And be taken out for cleaning purposes would be a plus then.
    I do suggest to make multiple colors since children mostly would love to use something if it has another color besides black. Also for people who are at age may need a little extra to see what they are doing, in some cases this may involve brighter colors.
    Many use multiple smaller brushes which is kinda impossible with this workstation, it may be a good idea that the user can take out this slot and fill it in as wanted. Also easier to clean everything like that.
    Size: 3/5
    Design: 3/5
    Idea: 4/5
    Coloring: 1/5
    I think it would be a good start for small kits, specially for those who start the hobby from scratch. But the design has some flaws and it's size quickly ends up limiting the user.
    For Humbrol: I suggest to make this workstation part of a modular system. This way the user can deside how to use his workstation and what works for them the best. As mentioned, coloring could be a golden ticket to make this a lot more succesfull.

    £20 for a plastic tray with some holes in it. No thanks. You don't even get the cutting mat included. I wouldn't pay more than £4.99 for this.

    Just got one for my birthday. Very disappointed . Very unstable on a flat surface it's high in the middle. Also they state it can be used on your lap but it's top heavy when resting on your lap it's unfit for purposes and is limited in use.

    typical snobs at airfix/humberol,good idea,but as usual no 1-35 scale measuerments, rather silly,so that's why a load of modellers have not brought it,considering the company is in trouble again, one of these days that will be it, and then liqudators will have a field selling off ,whats left,like what happend before with all the railway stuff,

    • @NirateGoel
      @NirateGoel Před 3 lety

      The A3 cutting mat features 1:35 scale measurements, obviously it is the least popular scale as it was the one choosen not to be on the A4 variant.
