  • In this acrylic paint dropper tutorial Geoff explains what the project involves and how he will be taking you through a full build of the Airfix 1:72 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat.
    Geoff also discusses the importance of using helpful references before you start and during your build, and why it’s important to clean the kit parts before painting and how to do it.

    I was actually going to ask how felt about washing the sprues - never heard anyone who advised doing that using Isoproponol before.

    You seldom hear modellers talking about reference nowadays, when it was THE thing back in the Airfix Magazine days.

    I bought one of the new Humbrol 18 ml acrylics and it feels like they are pre thinned for airbrush. I could spray it right from the bottel. Is this correct?

    The Zero was a vastly superior machine to the Wildcat - a bit cheeky that artwork.

    Imho...since you degrease sprues, you should avoid touching them afterwards to not transfer any grease from your fingers (like you did). Anyway, good primer is best solution to skip deagreasing process.

    What’s the difference between the Tamiya X20A and the Humbrol thinner?

    • @grzegorz2688
      @grzegorz2688 Před 3 lety +2

      X20A is dedicated for acrilic paints

      Best to use the same brand thinner for the paint as they are obviously designed to work together. There's always the chance that one manufacturer has a weird thinner or paint that doesn't play nice.

    Can you drag this out any longer?? Don’t care about the description of the kit. Just show the paint!!

    Not a word about paint droppers. Click bait.
