  • In this acrylic paint dropper tutorial Geoff explains what the project involves and how he will be taking you through a full build of the Airfix 1:72 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat.
Geoff also discusses the importance of using helpful references before you start and during your build, and why it’s important to clean the kit parts before painting and how to do it.

Some modellers swear by priming rather tan painting straight onto the plastic - what do you think of that?

For me primer is good if you have plastic in two colours, then your final paint have right colour, if plastic A is the same as plastic B, I don't use primer.

With Humbrol acrylic dropper paints they definitely need to be primed using Humbrol's primer - honestly, stick with their products entirely rather than mixing them with other manufacturers' products. There's no chance of an adverse reaction that way :) Best wishes, Geoff
