When cameras were invented, painters said that their work would end because no one would want a painted portrait anymore instead of a photograph that could be taken in a second. When tools for digital art were created, artists said it wasn't even real art because it was made on a computer and not on paper or a screen. (google "Digital art is not real art" and change the time range of the results to before 2010 and you will see that this was a very common opinion actually) Now it's basically the same thing. I believe that the fear that some artists have of AI is much smaller than the laziness they have in trying to understand how these tools work and how they can integrate them into their work. And while they complain about it, they will be replaced by real artists who have integrated these tools into their work. The artists community will be divided between two poles: One that is completely against the use of artificial intelligence, and the other uses AI tools fairly to speed up and improve their work. One of these poles will constantly try to boycott the other. And guess what? It won't be the one with AI integrated. And when I say art with integrated AI, I mean things like using generative AI to brainstorm or quickly generate texture templates or backgrounds, or for reference poses. Things that don't diminish the value of the art but that improve and speed things up. And one of these poles will eventually be instinct. And guess what? You already know the answer.

It should be illegal for CZcams to shadow ban comments. Especially when they contain nothing offensive and you have no way to know which words cause it.

I've been wanting to create art for a living for decades and it never seems to get off the ground and its 100% my fault. I have these moments at work where I say to myself "I am good enough" and I will think of all these ideas like t-shirts, cards, posters, prints, etc. and than I get home and the motivation all dissolves into mist. I can work outside in grueling conditions day in and day out knowing I am physically getting worse every year but I can't seem to sit in a nice comfy chair in in my air conditioned office with some nice music in the background and flipping create any of these ideas.

Your explain Fresnel correctly, but when you pasted the left "matte" sphere unto the reflective sphere you did not mirror (flip) the image. Also you erased the reflection, stating Fresnel again. Fresnel would cause you not to erase because the angle in inference is become more and more away from the frontal plane of the eye's FOV. Love the overall vibe,but some the tutorial is jumbling the rules a bit in terms of reflection of scene objects and Fresnel dynamics.

Yes that app sounds really cool, but the problem with a platform as it grows is that it attracts the vultures, and once they smell blood they will make themself with it as well.

It is enough you take a picture with your mobile phone, unfortunatelly , it is morals, manners, sence of privacy borrders one does not cross even if legall, just because it is not right to do so, as much as I love AI, all the good it is and can do, it is deprived of this, to great amount deliberately, and that is just sad, you can not even say machine did it, basicly, at the end we are all victims of those lacking stated above

I’ve been a professional artist/ illustrator for over 40 years. Last year I stopped posting ANY of my art online because of the theft. Now it’s going to be even worse! I watched the system take away my right to royalties-all illustration jobs became “work for hire”. AI is another step in crushing our ability to earn a living.

Absolutely agree...You do however want to create speed paintings... Limit your time to encourage speeding up your process. That in turn will allow you to up the polish and details in the artworks you take your time on.

When these companies start getting the myspace treatment, just mass abandonment they will change thir tune. not that i think we need them. they seem to do VERY little for us. The future will be an analogue one.

You are aware that everybody can make a screenshot and feed the AI themselves. Even if an artist completely disappears from the internet, one can still visit the exhibition, take a photo, and feed it into MidJourney or whichever AI they choose. I don’t see any escape unless there are exhibitions without photography. Maybe we will find new solutions for how we present our art. The good thing is that AI can’t really paint, make sculptures or installations, or perform any kind of performance art. I made a lot of experiments with high-quality art pieces and tried to achieve a better result with AI, but that doesn’t work really because there are so many physical and real elements missing in an art piece. Experimenting with AI can give an artist very interesting new inspirations, but the execution would probably be very different from a real artist.
