Totally agree with you. I’ve been an Independent adjuster for 2 years and I’m always trying to be honest with the insured as well as the insurance company. I want to help the insured out and find any way possible to cover a loss. However I also want to do my best for the company I’m working for. Sometimes it makes for some tough conversations with the insured but I have to be honest for all parties involved
@qui-gonjinn9985 Good for you! Integrity is the most important. Thanks for watching.
You're 100% correct. I am a PA myself and was a staff adjuster for years before coming to the "dark side". There are bad parties on both sides unfortunately. In the end, our goal is the same. Get what is owed paid for, nothing more and nothing less. Enjoy the vids - have been watching a long time!
@breakingthemold664 I’m so glad to hear your opinion. I was afraid I was going to tick every PA off with this video. You have the right attitude. Thank you! Keep up the good work, and thanks for watching!
I had two experiences with two public adjusters and it was awful but not all public adjusters are bad people. The last adjuster forge signature, did not provide mandatory copy’s and lied abut fees that the homeowner wasn’t aware of.
@elliott44597 I agree, all are not bad. But this one topped the cake!
Thank-you, Daniel. There’s nothing better than a clear conscience. .
@Jaco3688 Exactly!!
Hey Daniel, I'm a new field adjuster(2 months in) and I'm having difficulty identifying hail damage to the composition shingles on a roof. I can confidently call the hail damage to siding, soft metals, windows ect. but calling hail on the shingles is a bit difficult. Can you educate me and other newer adjusters about hail to shingles? Thank you for all you do man.
@topdawg4314 Thanks for your question. A great resource for you to grab is the Haag hail identification book. This has very good examples of what is hail and what is not. You can get a digital version of it on the HAAG global site haageducation.com/s/product/digital-asphalt-composition-roofs-damage-assessment-field-guide/01t8W000005513eQAA

Hello, I really want to get in this field, but I don't have any experience. Can I do this? If yes, from where I can start? Please advise.
Are you going to get deployed if hurricane beryl hits Texas?
@steveh6688 They already called me. But just waiting for now.
Hi Daniel, what do you think of Pilot catastrophe training? Would you recomend
@SGHvidzNthings Yes, I would highly recommend them. I worked for them before. Very professional.
What are the first few steps of becoming an adjuster? Do I need construction experience?
@zaidmunzir1116 Watch this video czcams.com/video/bdt7P9_dT5w/video.html
@@danieltheadjuster you are on gods roster as one of the good ones. Thanks a lot 🙂
@zaidmunzir1116 Thank you so much. You are very kind.
I was licensed in TX in 25.5 hrs. Real quick
@hairbytyger6916 Nice!
I've been in the water damage industry most of my life, and considering a switch to IA. Every staff adjuster I've ever worked with would try and convince me those kitchen cabinets are fine! 🤣
@edwardconley5250 yes, that's funny!
The ceiling fan was probably damaged from the sheet rock removal
@onewade1974 Maybe or when the drywall fell from oversaturation. I wasn't there, so I can't be sure.
It's looks similar to an electric fire I had that burned down the apartment unit. I smelled smoke and ran downstairs and around to the back the back areas where they had all the electric meters show the electricity was coming in there it started real close to that area look for the electric meters and where they would have been
@onewade1974 great point! I think they are looking into that possibility. Crazy for a 3-4 year old house
Finally - a 2 story roof you didn’t climb on. lol
@Jaco3688 hahaha 😆😆😆😆😆
Daniel the adjuster great video I love the personal touch and heart that you put in your content
@360AdjusterAcademy I appreciate that! Thanks!
what do you think about drones for the roof? have you used them? do you know of adjusters that use them?
@stopandthinkinsights I love drones for roof inspections, especially on the 13/12 pitches 😆 but the Carriers are slow to adapt this method, and currently we cannot use them. Maybe one day!!
Do we have to bring our own bikes I don’t have one
@TaydaBandz Not sure, you may need to give them a call and see if they rent them.
CertainTeed is still having issues with their shingles. I was wondering if you’ve heard about the certainTeed landmark Solaris shingles
@Sj-jf9ph No, I have not. Typically it will take a Class-Action lawsuit to get the Carrier's attention. haha
How much do you make monthly?
@zaidmunzir1116 This is a good video to watch. czcams.com/video/kvuSnIcYNww/video.html
Should someone brand new with no experience get the TX, IN, or FL license, and xactimate training on their own before having a job? Does having that help to get you in door even when you haven't handled a claim before? I guess I am confused on getting these licenses and training without actually ever having done the work then applying to a firm. Wouldn't one need to go get hired by an insurance company to actually do desk work and field work first?
@liquidGold79 Very good question Let me explain it this way. It’s no different than if you were going to college for four years. You would get all your training, education, build your résumé, and apply for the job. It’s no different in the adjusting world. Get as many licenses as you can afford, since this looks really good on a résumé, and it makes it look like you’re prepared for any storm event, get your level one and two certification for Xactimate, get as many certifications for carriers, like State Farm, Prepare an excellent résumé, then apply to as many firms as possible. They will look at your résumé, see that you are prepared, and give you an opportunity. With none of this on your résumé, it’s no different than a high school dropout trying to apply for corporate position, with no education or training.
@@danieltheadjuster Ok, thanks. So all the licenses and certifications look good on the resume to get you on with firms. Would one know how to adjust a claim if deployed by a firm without ever having done it? Does the training from say, Adjusterpro, actually prepare you to do the job by yourself for first time? Now if one was trying to not start IA route but wanted a staff position, would it still be beneficial to do all training and licensing on your own before applying? Or do companies prefer you come in green and they provide all that?
What does it mean if claims adjuster puts FL on the roof?
@dennyb5062 Not sure, could mean that the flashing was damaged. Or they were notating a front left slope.
Just got my all lines 620 adjusters license in Florida. any advice as to what is the best way to get into the field coming from a person who’s been investing in rentals for the last 3 years… ??
@st.ordjacobs848 That’s a loaded question, but watch my earlier videos. This will help you get started.
I love your vids man! Thank you for making them. I’m going to apply for a staff position today
@paulmichaels-bw6vt Thanks, you’re welcome! Good luck
I figured in a month in a hotel I d need about 4000. Not including using your car mileage and gas. So if you make 10,000 that month. Subtract about 5ooo you are left with 5000 for you in that month. So it's just like a regular job, because all that overtime you ll make should have been more than that.
@PositivePulse123 if you are considering the calculations for a catastrophe, your income would be much higher. Potentially you could make $25-$35,000 during the one month catastrophe, depending on how many claims you were assigned, and possibly more if you were given a second round of claims. Your calculations for the hotel were correct. Catastrophes are very profitable.
Always like your vids!
@Jaco3688 Glad you like them!
Can i make good money without climbing on difficult roofs?
@kirkbrown958 Sure. You could be a flood adjuster or do only interior damage. Still very good money to be made in this type of work. Even desk adjusters make good money.
Being new i don't even know where to start with this claim Good luck Daniel 👍 💓 ✨️
Treat it like a bunch of small water losses. If you can do a 1 room water loss, you can do a 50 room water loss. 👍
@MT-ye4xe Yes, these types of claims can be tricky even for us. haha
@breakingthemold664 Good point!
Absolutely! The best time to inspect leaking roofs.
@behaisaemmanuel3396 You got that right!
What is your recommendation to get started doing this?
@behaisaemmanuel3396 Watch some of my earlier videos. I explain the entire process and how to get started.
Why do you mark more than one hits on the same shingle? Also why do you always go for the valley on the left and right slope? When you can have a 10x10 tests square on the left and right.
@Bustah2016 Not out of habit, am I marking multiple hits on one shingle. I’m just looking for damage. As far as the valley, it doesn’t matter what shape my 100 square-foot test area is, it’s just about the density of damage. There’s no rule that it has to be 10 x 10.
@@danieltheadjuster I was asking because most of the time they want different shingles. All of the carriers I’ve done claims for if it’s feasible to do a 10x10 test square. Or a 20x5. Then do it. This might have come across wrong because I’ve been asked by contractors about why you would do a test square in a valley. If you can show them that there is hail damage not on the same shingle and the granular loss it will help you and the insured. This is why I don’t mark the same shingles.
@Bustah2016 Damage is damage, no matter the size of the test area. There is a lot of flexibility in the documentation.
Hey Daniel I’m 13 and turning 14 in 18 days my dad is a kinda popular adjuster named John AND I want to work under him and I’m gonna need to learn this stuff and I have no experience, can you help me out in Xactimate online and Symbility?
@bruh-cg9xc You can certainly learn from your Dad for sure. He will be the best teacher.
As I young ambitious man from Uganda with a National Diploma in Land management& Valuation currently pursuing my Bachelors in Land Economics, who has been at site doing roofing with my Dad since 2016. I find this absolutely interesting for my specialization, though property loss adjustment is minimal locally.
@behaisaemmanuel3396 Very Good! Thanks for watching
Where did you tie the rope to?
@luckystar4um I tied it to the front railing 4x4 post. You can tie it to any tree, a toe hitch, tire rim, or deck post. Anything where it won’t move.
What shoes do you use? I think I have the wrong shoes
@Sebastian-oj2gu Cougar Paws Climbing Boots amzn.to/3x733Mv
Just have to install ice & water shield that whole section where it has water dumping , ponding during rains. It should help. And agreed with you, very bad design.
@luckystar4um yes, that would certainly help in this situation, but the location of the downspouts would need to be better as well.
@@danieltheadjuster yes sir, the whole section to be safe. Do it right once, do not have to do it again.
@luckystar4um Correct! Correct!
Daniel do you ever inspect a 1 story roof? lol
@steveh6688 Yes, but it seems like two stories are very common.
Awesome job, it's very interesting to become, but I'm not confident with my English. Thank you for sharing, best explanation. I love your video 😍
@sawiahschmidt1583 Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
Daniel do these work in X1?
@markwashburn8479 Yes, they will work in any version of Xactimate except the trial.
Hi Daniel, so as an IA I work with my husband/asst partner, so this is our business.
@mariapino1129 That’s a wonderful arrangement. Congratulations!
Daniel, how are you buddy? Im just now finding your channel 2 secs ago and im going to chk it out in its entirety and then watch the X1 training as Im new to adjusting and have no experience with Xactimate. There isnt anyone willing to go over the basics of how to use Xmate from the start of a claims call to the closing of the claim. We need this and if youre new in the field money can be a challenge up front with buying licenses for several states, taking the CE courses to begin and simply trying to get materials to start in the field. Therefore paying $375 or better for Xactimate training is steep and of course you need to pay for R&H and other pertinent certifications to the job just to get started with outside adjuster workbor IA call center positions. I need the help and I hope your channel fits my need bcuz over the next few days im going to be seeing a lot of you if your training is all you say it is. Btw, im Steph, look forward to learning more from you
@buddybrown9614 Thanks for you response. I am glad that you found my channel. There is a lot of information out there, so take your time and learn it thoroughly. It might be in your best interest to focus on desk adjusting positions. This is a really good stepping stone to field work. Lot into the firms have starting positions like that. This will get your foot in the door for greater things.. Thanks again for watching!
Daniel where do you get the TRAINING to become an adjuster. I never saw it in your videos. Im from Alabama. Or is it an online course?
@weslawsonsilverback Thanks for your question. At this time I am not offering a course, but I think if you watch a lot of my videos you will begin to get a good understanding of the process. There are lots of courses, I just don't keep up with all of them. Check out Alacrity and see if they have classes. Best of Luck!
The best explanation I ve ever heard
@mr.helper.s Thank you! Glad to help!
Cool stuff. Just applied for my Florida license … now on to the real learning. Looking forward to more info from you!
@JShirls1921 Awesome! Thanks for your comment and keep up the great work! Thanks for watching!
Which kind of adjusters earn the most ? What’s the license name ?
@JasminThelemaque-lf8mo That's a tough question because everybody's work ethic is different. Independent would be best. Stay away from a staff or employee position. The harder and more efficient you work, the more money you make. CAT work is the best but it does not occur all of the time. I really like daily work but again, it is hard to get these positions. Desk positions can pay about 90-100K, so that is great as well.
@@danieltheadjuster thank you so much for your tremendous support by answering our questions so thoroughly. But is there any discrimination towards female adjusters ? Do you think they are at a disadvantage in comparison to males ?
@JasminThelemaque-lf8mo No, I don't believe there is any discrimination in this position. In fact, I think there are more women as Desk Adjusters. haha. It is a great career for anyone that has the desire to work hard to succeed.
@@danieltheadjuster you are awesome Daniel 👏👏👏
@JasminThelemaque-lf8mo Thank you for your kind words!
Hi Daniel, I am curious what advice do you have for people trying to break into this career path and can this be a full time career?
@theagilelifestyle Thanks for your question. Yes, this is definitely a full time career, and should be treated a such. Independent Adjusting is not a casual position and is nothing like working as an employee for someone else. It will take a special mindset of determination, self-motivation and persistence. If we stick to something, we will always succeed. If we put half-effort into something, expect the same results. I think anyone with determination can be very successful in this career. It takes time, but it can be extremely a fulfilling and lucrative path.
@danieltheadjuster Thanks I appreciate your feedback
@JasminThelemaque-lf8mo Anytime!
Looks like you’re always climbing steep 2-stories
@michaelsalmon8087 Yes, there are many steep roofs in NC. I think most of the homes built today in this area are two stories.
@@danieltheadjuster just finished wind/hail deployment in Houston. There’s a few of those around, but definitely not as common as NC.
@michaelsalmon8087 Very good!
Daniel I’ve been blessed to be a rookie adjuster and to have daily claims in NC but I’m getting 6 claims a week but on average I have to drive 2 hours to each claim. Is this normal for a daily adjuster?
@steveh6688 That's amazing! Pretty typical for a rookie adjuster, I must say. There are probably other experienced adjusters in your area and you are getting their leftovers. The ones where they have stated in their profile that they only drive 100-150 miles to a claim. The leftovers area normally a lot of driving. But stick at it, try to get them to pay for mileage, and you will gain experience. Keep adding your name to rosters, and let them know you are handling daily claims. This will be a big plus!! Great Job!!
I’ve been a a staff adjuster for the past 20 years. I’ve never seen this. What companies are hiring public adjusters?
@ViperFPV Most Public Adjusting firms will hire Adjusters. I was just solicited the other day by a PA to come work with them. 😆
Hello Daniel your macros do they cover water, mold, fire and reconstruction estimates?
@princeigajah742 Yes they do. It is a very comprehensive list that you can also continue to build upon. The information is invaluable.
This has been great! Thank you! I look forward to watching more!
@LauraLeeBooth Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback!
Mr Daniel question please: insurance adjuster wants me give a shingle sample but they don't use ITEL he said. Is confident any other test or should I do my own ITEL? Thank you
@jefersonpatino ITEL is typically not needed on a shingle sample unless it is a very unique or different shingle than the typical shingles around your home or subdivision. I rarely need an ITEL report on shingles.
