Hello. Can an Indep Adj that works from home and not in field somewhat control their own hours. Would I be able to accept a limited amount of cases and work until 4pm and take days off when I want. I keep hearing that they work 10-12 hour days but if I want to work 6-8 hours, can I just accept less cases? Thanks.

Exactly, I can decide how much I want to work to some extent, by limiting the amount of work that I take from the firms. Meaning, 1-5 firms. The more firms that you work for, the more work you will get. As they send you Claims, you will stay busier, with more firms. If you’re working as a desk adjuster, then you are forced to work 10 hours a day six days a week, most of the time.

@@danieltheadjuster I watched another video about the typical day of a desk adjuster and it sounds like they are on the phone the majority of the day and I'm looking for a career change to get off the phones all day. Do you know what positions in insurance are less phone work and more about paperwork, analyzing, emails, etc.

As a desk adjuster, you were going to be on the phone. Field Property Adjusters have very little time on the phone. Flood Adjusters the same. Not a whole lot of other opportunities to stay off the phone.

Look into File Review Or even Desk Inspection-which those are geared towards contents and other similar materials necessary for underwriting

    • @danieltheadjuster

Yes, I would agree somewhat, file review is only for extremely experienced
