Eh. Swayman had no momentum to get over to make the save. I get the call. I wouldn't have complained if it was disallowed, but don't complain about it being allowed either. That goal being allowed didn't lose the Bruins the game. They were outplayed all game, and they had zero answer for that goal, or the one after it.

You aren’t taking things into account such as that the crosscheck on mcdavid was after the game was already over and that the goalie interference was contact from the defensive player being shoved, not the attacking player bumping the opponents goalie. The refs are doing a better job paying attention to consistencies than you. Sub par hockey commentary.

I dont really care for missed or wong goalie interference calls, they only result in goals, they can be equalized BUT if a player risks injury to another player by blantanly getting his elbow out or crosschecking them etc. I am getting angry, we simply lost too many talented guys to shit like that

I think a big problem with some of the arguments for pro fights in the NHL, forgets that it's not allowed and thus there are no rules in place for what's allowed and what's not. Take MMA, There are strict rules which has to be allowed and they're (to my knowlegde) enforced. It can become a slippery slope if it's not enforced more strictly, either for or against fights. IMO.

ive been watching your vids for a while and have never subscribed. this video you broke down strategy with the different formations and brought up objective analysis for point differences for different players and hit differences for teams in the regular season and playoffs. i have now subscribed. its refreshing because a lot of hockey analysis is really bare bones and i appreciate people that really break down things. To many commentators and youtubers are like oh wow did you see that nice shot or that was a big hit and thats it.

First period, about 9 : 20 minutes in, Panthers and Bruins game 5. Bruins have the puck in the Panthers zone, and are sustaining pressure. McAvoy takes a shot from the Blue Line, Bobrovsky overplayed the puck and was WAY out of his crease, thinking he had it in his shirt/shoulder padding. But the puck was loose, and ended back to the Bruins. The Ref blew the play dead. Why? The puck wasn't frozen, and it had been clearly out by the dot where Lindholm was chasing it down. Bobrovsky didn't fall over in pain. Bobrovsky didn't lose his mask, or glove/blocker, etc. So why was the play blown dead? Why did the ref just skate over and check with Bobrovsky like he was hurt or something? Is this something that normally happens? A ref thinks a defending player in hurt, and blows the play dead while the other team has pressure in the offensive zone? Make it make sense.

You guys and gals may not like this comment, but I absolutely hate when the refs let things slide. A oenalty is a penalty is a penalty. Regardless of what time of year it is. Even moreso in the playoffs IMO. Tgats the ONLY reason Boston beat Vancouver in the finals. Its the reason Calgary list to Tampa. Its the reason the oenguins dont have more cups with Crosby. And uts the reason Ovi only has one. If your best players are outting up 100+ pts because theyre faster and more skilled, but then in the playoffs hooking and slashing and cross checking is only called when a player falls, bleeds, ir screams/breaks a bone, why bother calling them in the regular season? For ex, Vancouver is incredibly skilled, and got to where they are in the standings because of it. And so is Edmonton. But now BOTH teams are focused on hurting the other team because the refs put their whistles away. Its not fun to watch. And it makes the dirtiest team thw winner.

Its not a complete mess, its a complete rig. The american teams need to do well to draw crowds and fans. Thats why officiating is brought to help them. Its been like this since, well you know when.

i feel like a way to fix the officiating is by having everything be able to be challenged. the onpy reason why the bennet goal stood was because the refs couldnt call a penalty off the review. if teams are able to challenge offside, why not habe them challenge soft penalties that may alter a game or missed calls that have a direct afect to the game

The worst call I’ve ever seen is one I remember vividly from the 1st playoff series between Tampa and Florida. The refs had been atrocious all series, but one call took the cake. Bolts player gets clipped and goes down, everyone knows a Bolts PP is coming, even the Panthers player goes and sits down in the box. Then out of nowhere, and without explanation, the ref makes the Panther leave the box and puts the guy he ran over in instead. Most bewildering thing I’ve ever seen

So the Nurse penalty at 4:23 is a joke. Look how many times a game this exact thing happens and there are zero calls. Its more a push than a check. Cross checking and interference on dump and chases are rarely called anymore. The game is broken and i blame Bettman.

I thought the Marchand hit was a reverse check, Marchand was going directly toward the puck carrier, Bennet saw him coming and braced for the hit, just so happens it led to a reverse hit. Also, the rules talk about protecting players, not rats

The worst call I've ever seen was probably the Makar's "on-side" goal vs the Oilers 2 yrs ago. Hot take, I know. Let me explain: The offside rule has always been consistently interpreted such that control of the puck mattered, not contact with it. This is because it's not feasible for a linesman to base their decision on contact at live game speed. Thus, the offside rule is now applied differently at game speed than in video reviews, which makes consistency categorically impossible. Additionally, the sudden mid-game decision to change the applied interpretation of the rule such that having control no longer falls within the scope/definition of "attempting to gain control" set the precedent that refs can randomly change the interpretation any rule whenever they please, despite the existance an established and accepted interpretation. Basically, they can now make up rules in the middle of a game and that's fine as long as someone texts Elliott Friedman explaining exactly how to twist the words to fit the new narrative. Lastly, it wasn't another missed call or inevitable mistake that happens at game speed. Those are easier to forgive. This was a calculated decision made upon video review. They took the time to watch the slow mo and talk it over before throwing away decades of established precedent.

Hey Dud, do some research, that Montreal/Ottawa (you are obviously a Habs fan) game was bad, but the playoffs were so much more violent in the '70's! The Maple Leafs (I'm obviously a Leaf fan) are constantly victimised by the refereeing to the point where they would have won more than one round in the last 19 years! Also, this bad refereeing has been problem for many years. Google: Carey Frasier, and how he handed the 1993 Stanley Cup to Montreal! Players actually do run a goalie if they can't score, just ask Chris Kreider. You think what happed to Connor McDavid was bad, Google: Ted Lindsey... The game is really so much safer, but the refereeing (and the NHL) are unwilling to enforce or to be consistent with the rules. This action costs teams that want to play by the rules like my Leafs or teams like Vancouver in 2011. How Brad Marchant can sucker punch Hendrick Sundin four times in the face, in front of the ref, with no call???? Hey, ask Bobby Orr how one of the best player ever, had his career cut in half because players were after his knees. Same with Cam Neely, and Eric Lindros. Players seem to be allowed to injure others in the playoffs. Sam Bennett, last year, basically hog tied Matthew Knives and slammed his head into the ice to finish Matthew's playoffs, WITH NO PENALTY CALLED!!! I have many stories of Refereeing that is bad and effects players and the outcome of games, especially playoff games, that I have lost my love for NHL Hockey.
