I followed this method and had success. I used L framing brackets at the bottom of the facia to hold the new facia in place so I could insure fit and minimize risk of injury.

I hate to tell you but the SW Gallery rolled paint didn't look good in your video. It looks textured and uneven and cheap and at 720p video resolution you provided it should look perfect but since it doesn't it probably looks even worse in real. I have a better solution with enamel hybrid non latex paint and the secret is patience. Foam roller is better but you want to put 3-4 layers with minimum paint each time. You cannot do that with SW paints if you roll it since it's so thick paint that's why you couldn't use foam with SW paint. Use hybrid enamel no latex paint. The end result is way better than what you showed and it's not $130 per gallon more like $95.

I just hired a roofer to replace rotten fascia and soffit. There are gaps between the fascia and soffit and between the soffit and house. Some say to caulk it but others say to leave the gaps so that if any water gets under the shingles it has a way out. What do you recommend?

You can’t use framing timber to make doors 😂they will warp as it’s usually 12% moisture . Maybe for a cubby house . Better to use Klein dried furniture grade hardwood .

I don't do crown molding but I had a job where I had to install a small section of it. This jig would've helped me out.
