    I am really enjoying your videos. I am no carpenter by any means- but I had to make a repair to my siding last week much like you just did. I used my multi tool with a dual metal/wood blade and used it to score the siding and cut underneath the seams as well- was able to cut the nails with it as well as break the bonds from the paint/caulk. It made it really easy to remove. I was able to pull out the cut nails after after I removed the plank very easily. Just an idea.. I am really nobody to be giving advice on this though.

      Hi Brian, if your wood is not pre -primed you need to prime it before you paint.

      exact same concept, except cement board is more fragile when old and is more difficult to cut. Also tend to need a larger nail
