This is the best do it yourself video I've ever seen. Down to the screw and connectors, the tabs and how to fix common issues was covered. I give it 5 🌟
Absolutely 💯💯🎉🎉
Agreed 💯
This was one of the clearest, most detailed instructional videos I’ve ever seen. You have a new subscriber. Thank you so much for the exceptional work, Paul.
What a great video, thanks from a 2016 Ram owner in Ireland.
I have not seen a better how to video in my life. Thank you.
Great video. I used this to replace my stock 2009 Dodge Ram headlights with the Amerilite Quad projector headlights off Amazon. The instructions worked perfectly and there was only a slight difference in the electrical connection due to the differing headlights. Very well made video Paul.
Best instructional video I have ever seen! I appreciate you taking the time to remove the wheel to give us a better view of the tab, 10/10 video, coming to your channel for all instructional videos from here on out!
Hands down best do it yourself video I've ever seen! Thank you so much!
Outstanding video! I'm in the automotive industry as well therefore I do watch lots of do it yourself CZcams videos and I must say that you are the very best one of them all. I will be doing this to my 2012 Dodge Ram soon! Thank you Paul!
I've had my 2009 since it was new and I have never had to change one until today, great tips on a new potential trick area[s] to prevent needless damage and frustration! thx!..
Thanks for the guidance on this man. Made the job simple. Good idea on keeping the plugs in the cover too.
What a great video. Thanks for taking the time to get a good view of the tabs, and excellent tips
Thanks Paul! My 2012 Dodge Laramie failed the State inspection because of water in the headlamp housing. They were badly sun-crazed anyway so I decided to replace them with new aftermarket headlamp housings and covers. After watching your video I realized how easy it was and just finished installing them.
Seriously? Did the headlight work?
I really appreciate the level of detail and the extra steps for the tab in the back. This is a great video.
Thanks for posting this video. It was very helpful. Got both low beams swapped out in less than an hour.
It was so helpful and made my headlight replacement a breeze. Thank you for this video.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I watched several videos and NO ONE talked about the tab. L brackets (which I don't have) another guy said just stick a screw driver in a pry it out 😬. But your video explained it in exact detail. Many thanks.
Thanks...now 2 years after you made this video, but it has given me the confidence to consider upgrading the headlights.....2014 3500....
Thanks. Great "how to" video. (No unnecessary rambling; only the facts man.)
Great video Paul! Thanks for the detail on the inside clip.
I don’t normally comment on anything but this video was so detailed and helpful it deserves ALL the comments! Thanks for putting this together.
Thank YOU So Much
You made this so simple than most videos I’ve seen❗️💯🏆
Hey Paul, I'm going with 3.38.15 to change out the light. Thanks for another great video.
Your video shows clearly how to get in there to change the light bulb. Thank you very much!
Extremely helpful. Thank you.
Paul, Can't thank you enough for this video. What saved my butt was the one comment you mentioned regarding the 'clip' that locks/unlocks the lamp fixture. Before watching your video I was frustrated beyond measure trying blindly' to locate that ;'guillotine' clip. Your mention that the simple way to locate it is to bring your hand over to the interior of the sheet metal fender, slide your hand an inch toward the interior and voila! there it is. So freaking simple-saved soooo much time and frustration. Thanks my friend!!
Awesome my friend, I had a hard time locating it the 1st time as well. Have a great weekend!
Thanks for the extra care in taking the tire off and getting some good film angles to show that white latch that needed to be slid upward and what that trap door looked like!
Very good video...thank you for being so thorough
Thank you & the truck looks really nice with those light.
You cover all the little details that are necessary, but others don't show. For me, that included the location of the coarse threaded connectors and how to fiddle with the little lock on the electrical connector. Thanks so much.
Great video. Very informative. Thanks!
Great useful video. I can't wait to see other tutorials you produce. You have a new subscriber.
Best instructional video, you earned a sub.
Excellent Video. Very informative.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time.
Hi Paul, as usual, another awesome instructional video I'm saying 3:22:18 to change out the light.
Thanks a lot, really helped me a lot trying to fix my truck without help as a 16 year old.
Wow Jaime, you remind me of myself. I bought my first car when I was 15 with my brother and we had to tow it home. It locked up on someone and they sold it for $100. It was a 1972 Dodge Challenger that needed fenders, a Door and to get running lol. My brother and I took the spark plugs out and put oil on the pistons. When I got out of school the next day we used a breaker bar to turn the crank. It moved so we spun the motor with the starter until the oil came out of the spark plug holes. We put the warranty spark plugs on and started it up. We bought all the body parts from a junkyard and I had a friend that painted in his garage. He did an awesome job and I wish I had that car now.! Not enough people take the time to learn, I glad to see you have the drive!
Great video, thank you! Made swapping lights out on my 2010 Ram a breeze. Especially nice since they didn't come with any instructions!
Excellent Video!!
Thanks this videos was really helpful
You the Man!! Great video
Thank you brother for the information.I was able to change my bulbs.
Glad I could help, than you!
Paul, thanks for the extra attention to detail (were you in the military) on the different looks. Picture is worth a thousand words!! I will continue to use you as a reference when needing good information.
Oh yea I’m ready for this challenge!
Great video as always Mr. Paul...
Nice truck bro!😎👊🏼✊🏽🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Hi Arturo, Don’t forget to put a time in here.....
Thank you paul!!
Very helpful, thank you very much!
Nice Paul great tips for RAM Dodge trucks from 2009-2018. 4:10 sec it took you
Great video. I changed my light assembly by using a long extension so as not to remove the grill
Let’s see more automotive how to videos! This along with all your work is great. Thanks
Great video
Thanks man ! You made that easy enough 👍🏻
Thank you Jim!
You make a good how to do it video very thorough 👍
Thank you for your help
Awesome video man. Great detail!! Got a silly question. I broke my white tab. So I need a new bracket. Lol. Would u happen to know how to remove that bracket. Because if I’m not mistaken, you gotta remove the fender and stuff. I’m talking about just the bracket with the white tab.
Another well done video Paul! 2.48.38
I really like those headlight housings what brand are they ? I'd like to change my factory housing out
Thanks for sharing man!
Great Video
Took us 5 mins after watching video thank you bro very much !!!
Glad it helped, thank you!
3:44:16 Glad to see you're doing well. Keep up the great content !!
I honestly thought it was absolutely ridiculous to have to remove plastic shroud and grille to change my headlight bulbs. I tried doing this with out removing either. While it is possible, it’s totally worth taking a minute to remove them first, it actually was so much easier. Thank you for the video.
So, those hall joint retainer clips when you remove the light, mine snapped in half. Where can I get them? What are they caller
Thanks buddy!@ great help
Thank you Hector, have a great night friend!
Thank you! Just replaced my headlight because of this video.
Awesome!! Thanks
Thank you and have a good night!👍👍
Gracias!!!
Another great video. Just a side note on working with all the Tupperware on today's vehicles. I prefer to do it on a warm day rather than a cold one to reduce the chance of snapping any of the plastic stuff.
You popped the first pin at like 0:1:27, at 0:8:22, you pulled the cable mount off the driver headlamp assembly, making it free of the vehicle, so I'm calling it 0:6:55. If you hadn't commented, sure, it would be 3 minutes and change.
Thanks Curmudgeon, I know what you mean. Plastic gets pretty brittle in cold weather but I live near swamps, HOT and sticky down here. Have a great day!
@@paulstoolbox c'mon now Paul. I grew up in Pensacola, and it gets freezing cold down there, sometimes even in the low 50s.
We love a good swamp. My son and I paddled a canoe 60 miles through your Atchafalaya swamp a couple of years ago. Talk about beautiful!
Thanks you
2 min. 58.5 seconds
Great how to video!
Technically dielectric grease does not conduct electricity, so it shouldn’t be applied directly to the mating surfaces (pins and sockets) of an electrical connection. It meant more for the surrounding connector to prevent moisture from entering the connector.
Hi, how I can find the headlights to buy it I like it
❤ Great 👍 video
Hey Paul! What do you suggest to use as a sealant to stop any moisture from getting in and how would you use it?
You'd think that they would build them to be water tight, wouldn't you?
But my OEM lights leaked and filled up with water. Well, not full, but a lot of water. I dried them and sealed them around the edge with silicone caulk.
It probably wouldn't hurt to caulk the new ones to prevent them from leaking in the future.
I'm replacing my original faded lights now and that's what I plan on doing.
Extremely well done video. I was just searching for a way to change out the bulbs but keep my headlight housing the same but after watching your video it looks like I would still have to do all this just to get to replace my light bulbs. Would that be correct?
Yep.
whats the link for that headlgiht ?
i had to stop the video n make sure i give u a thumb up. Perfect video, Very pro. helps to the T so i wont have a problem later. This is not a video most rookie You Tuber do. These days we see all these crooks hang around places like Auto Zone n rips ppl to the very knowledge of Auto zone managements, learn by messing up poor guys car n do video after the 100s trial. Thank u.
Thank you, I really appreciate you for taking the time to make my day better!
Awesome my beloved Amazing Brother ... 10 minute guess
3.21.14 is my guess. Love the videos
2:20.15 - Love you vids, and the different topics. I wasn't expecting this one though!
Hi Chris, I don’t know if you saw the end of the video but your name is up there. Do you want to see driver so please go to Paulstoolbox.com and send me your mailing information along with your channel name. Thanks buddy!
@@paulstoolbox I did see that Paul, and was blown away. Then I became sure that the Chris R. had to be somebody else. I emailed you!

Looking for some headlights for my '15 🐏!! Got condensation in driver side factory and it's annoying as hell!!!
Be nice for a product update on that next video......
Hi Duane, if you take your headlight out and blow dry it, I sometimes take a sock with rice and put it in the hole of the lens and let it sit for a while, a day or so. Take clear silicone and run it along the entire seem of the backside. That usually does it. I have never had that problem with Spyder lights that’s why I went to them after I had to fix other ones. I will see that Spyder does not give you very good instructions at all but as far as the quality of the lights I am very happy. I have a follow up video on how to easily fix lights when your lights burn out often. I see this a lot of times when people replace the headlights or the bulbs. If you have any questions please send them to Paul’s toolbox.com, I will do my best to answer. Thanks!
3:34:07 Paul!!!! Where have you been??? Working, I suppose! Glad to see you're fine! Thank you for the video. I don't own a Ram but I sat here and watched the whole video anyway!
Thank you so much Sandy I really appreciate you! My mother is in her 80s and is ill. I have been very busy lately, being sidetracked for now but I do my best to try to keep videos out. Please don’t forget me I won’t go away.
@@paulstoolbox Seriously, a few days ago I realized I hadn't seen a video in awhile so I went to your channel to make sure I hadn't missed one. I figured if I hadn't seen anything in another week, I was going to email you. I forgot about your mother. I helped take care of my mother, then my uncle. I know how difficult it can be. I'm hoping the best for you and your family. Stay safe! I'm here for you.
Lady owner of a 2014 Laramie 1500… have to change the whole assembly because the turn signal is out.
Is there a way to fix just the turn signal in the existing assembly, or do I need to just swap in new please? I have a soldering iron if needed.
Would really appreciate it! Ty!
Your local AutoZone or auto parts store should be able to order a pigtail for your truck to replace it. You can also Google front or rear blinker pigtail for your 2014 Laramie. I have purchased them in the past for other vehicles, so I think you should be able to find one fairly easily. I hope this helps and good luck.!
What size bulb do I need?
3:41 is what I think you did it in lol I did my ford contour ones and it took me a while to make sure I knew how to put it back the same way but I did it 👍🏼💕💜
Hi Gina, you have to add two more digits Tenths and hundredths. You can send me another comment and add that if you want to. Thank you and have a great day!
Paul Ricalde 3:41.24
Paul Ricalde thank you so much paul your such a kind soul luv you 3:41.24
@@GinaBeana_Tootsie Thank you Gina and God bless you!
Paul, I'm going to go with 3.45.67 just to make it interesting.
As a carpenter, that cats paw trick just saved me 20 bucks and a trip to the store
FYI on the 2011 Ram 2500, you “PUSH UP!” on the white clip inside the wheel well to release the back of the headlight assembly. 😊
3:43:12 good job and content.
This is just like that tool time tv show
The difference is I'm not as talented... Thanks Brendan, have a great day!
Great video. 3:42:13
I was looking for that grease and you have damn 😂
I have one I need to change
3:31:33 is what I think. Thanks Paul.
Paul 3 minutes 3 seconds. Is there anything you can’t do? Good video.
Hi Joe theres a lot I can't do, just ask my wife LOL.... It's always good to hear from you . Have a great day!
Congratulations. This is the 999,999th video about this.
Thanks, do I win anything?
If you 2x the speed it helps a lot 😉
You tube is my second dad haha
Good video and all but a lot of extra work when you can just go from the trap door behind the headlight out, and then remove the two bolts on top
Great video
3:30 like your video
You americans are funny, It's not a "star" bit it's called a T20 TORX bit, the T stands for Torx. I thought ya'll called the Phillips bit a "Star" bit:) what do you call the Robertson bit a "square" LMAO! Anyways it was an awesome tutorial video. Thanks very much Paul!
Lol, I’m one of those fools that knows the actual term but still blurts out what’s on my mind at the time. Thanks!
Hey Paul
The contest winning number is.....(drum roll) 2min 11 sec 😁
Drum Roll.......... You are a winner! Thanks for participating my friend! Please go to paulstoolbox.com and give me your mailing information so I can send you a screwdriver. Remember this is a MEGAPRO screwdriver and it has a lifetime warranty if anything goes wrong they will replace it.
Paul Ricalde Hey Hey!! This is awesome! thanks Paul!!! This is really kind of you. You are now officially my favorite CZcams channel:-)
So what was the exact time? I figured you had everything right there... and you didn’t have to go rummaging thru you’re tool box. And give up looking and just use a Channel locks. That would of been tough to gauge that time. Thanks again Paul.
I saw your newest one 1:31 😀
4.27.11 - Love the videos. Would also love one of those screw drivers.. Pick me. Pick me.
