this was actually my very first deadrising game and i thought it was the most immersive thing ever as a kid. then i got curious and watched xbox gameplay and i was wondering why wii frank moved so slow 🤣. copped it on xbox after that and im playing it rn on pc

Definitely with you on the original being perfect to me. Though I am going to jump on the remaster right away I would’ve totally been fine leaving DR alone as well. Though I still like DR2 and a chunk of 3 they really don’t have anything on that first entry. I even had a bad thought of “damn what if they do add combo weapons?” Though you show interest I don’t one bit and am very glad they didn’t add them

The remaster deluxe looks dark in certain areas and replacing TJ frank west for another unknown actor is insulting to me as a fan of TJ. I’m not buying this game period the original actors deserve better than being replaced for no reason other than saving money 💰😒

I like Chuck more than Frank but his deliberate stoic nature was probably not as popular as Franks cheekiness, Also I far prefer 2 as a game compared to one its far from perfect none of the games are but that is their charms but 2 is just more fun and the Ai was a total overhall in comparison to 1s survivors, I enjoyed what Blue castle was doing with the series up until DR 4 when the majority of the original team was gone and replaced hearing with Capcom needing to meet a release date, I would of liked to seen the proposed fifth game with Chuck and Katie in a undead Mexico but they needed a gameplay reset above anything else.

Awesome video man. I didnt know that back in the day arcade cabinets cost 3k to make. I remember, back in mexico businesses having multiple cabinets, mostly original, with the actual art from the franchise on them. so, its kinda crazy people were that financially well off, to be able to afford them. but then again, maybe they made a big profit from them. but then again, i dont know. at 50 mexican cents per play ( roughly 15 american cents back then since the dollar was at around 3 or 4 mexican pesos in the mid 90s) how could they rack up enough money? lets say kids used a machine 100 times in one day, thats only a 15 buck profit,. ok nevermind, that adds up to 450 per month, 5400 per year. so i guess a machine would be profitable about 8 months in, then it would just all be profit after that.

Actually, if you look close at him swinging a bench around, it seems the hit stop is applied to frank and the zombies he's hitting, but not the game speed itself. It looks like how hitstop works in Monster Hunter and I wouldn't be surprised if it's based on the strength of the hit now.

I never quite got into the franchise. I thought time limits were the worst idea ever for this kind of game. Plus there were better zombie games to play like left 4 dead, doom etc.

I wonder what they're going to do for a Dead Rising 2 remake, are they going to go straight to Off the Record, retell just Chuck's story, or what I think would be cool, have both Frank's and Chuck's campaign bundled together and let the player choose between the two.

13:14 In fighting games we have a term called "hit stop", allows player to hit confirm better with combos as well as the "omph" feeling. That could be the term you were looking for. Impact stop works though!
