I have just built this set. It is generally awesome. I haven't had any problem with the legs dropping down, and it is eminently swooshable, as well as having excellent play feature controls. The one element that lets it down is the cockpit. I'm not a fan of it self levelling, plus the design feels shoddy compared to the frankly impressive job the rest of the set is. It feels like something slapped on the set at the last minute. A fixed, larger cockpit with the seats oriented more vertically, and an actual control panel would have been a better design. Obviously, I'm going to have to create one.

i dont know how lego determines the price but 700 for 2k is just silly. the excavator and wheel excavator have double the pieces and originally retailed for 350 and 250 respectively. both are old and retired sets and can still be found for under 500 bucks. there is also the Mold King version that has 4k pieces and retails for 200. the only downside about the Mold King version is that its stupid tall at 6 feet.

They should sell an updated set of wheels, since they’re so interchangeable

Great review! Not that I need another Lego set, but damn you make a convincing salesman. It's a bit before my time in style, but would fit nice on my mantle next to my Lego Ship In A Bottle. Just need to find a good bluetooth speaker that will fit in there.

Only 2 things I hate about this set 1, the plates. There's only 1 of each the US and Japanese plate, despite needing 2. And it comes with a Japanese plate without any right hand drive instructions. 2, the doors don't have any stoppers unlike the Mustang's. So the doors just open until they hit the front fender. Other than that... B E A U T I F U L

Bougt loads of kits off both Temu and AliEx and they have all been fine. Personally i feel this is a fake video to put people off. Lego is expensive and some of the 3rd party brands offer new designs that match Lego quality in every way.

For me and my generation, growing up in the 80s, an iconic Ghettoblaster with "working" casettes would have been a better choice I guess. I'm wondering how many people have nostalgic feelings about this, but I'm happy for anybody, who enjoys this set.

Using a rudder piece, and putting it on a hinge and flipping it over is damn brilliant to make the fin that's on the AMG one

I bought one too and it was a bit disappointing. I just decided that I would reuse the parts maybe for other things. But as a car. It's pretty terrible :D

I know this video is old. However I hope someone sees this soon. I need help on my defender. So what’s happening is that when pushed forward in DRIVE and LOW or HIGH The car moves fine but after about 30cm of distance it locks up and starts cracking. When the vehicle is lifted in this locked stage the gears then release in the opposite direction pushing the car back to where it started. Does anyone know what this is??

The designer of the set obviously never used a radio like this. The dial-knob works the wrong way.

There needs to be a smaller <$50 set featuring airlock pods to really get this theme fully-realized. The closest thing is the $35 60439 Space Science Lab, which features some of the airlocks and one "module" in the form of the hoverbike charger. But this set falls short as it doesn't have any of the enclosed add-on modules. Having a set with one or two of these, perhaps even a T-shaped or X-shaped module to connect all the sets together without taking away features of the other sets would be perfect for this line. Otherwise, it is difficult to even call this the core mechanic of the line when the first real entry point is at the $85 mark.

Good review. When you mentioned about medium Mercedes F1 you could show coda alfa F1 champion size model and also old Mercedes champion ship fom 2pack (F1and AMG)
