    I really do wish that there was a locking mechanism. I really do like the step up for them implementing the steering, making it more worth the price (Yeah, I’m looking at you Ford Mustang…). However, a locking mechanism I believe would just be a lot better, so you can have it for pullback action and regular play. Thanks for another great review, I really did love the F1 lineup. Keep up the great work!

    Imo this is way better than the Porsche one because I like the colour scheme better and this one overall feels more detailed and proportional.

    Looks good, but considering that we've already had a few racing-related vehicles lately, I grabbed 42167 and 42168 instead. By doing so I've learned that there are electric garbage trucks on the market and I've learned what a forage (not to be confused with combine) harvester is.

    My son and I made the 42169 and 42165 together. We got all the Monster Jam trucks and that started our fascination with pull back motors. So we have been fusing Monster Jam trucks with double pull back motors for a while now for bigger stunts.
    I was excited this kit included 2 motors and some gears.
    Under the front fairing are the two bars that slide for the steering. You could add some pieces to lock it out there.
    I have some BuWizz motors and am wondering if Lego are leaving options for this build to get modified with enough space in the back for a drive and steering motor? 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @AHYL88

    I think this is easily the best looking of the three large pullback styled vehicle sets we've had, but it still has the same problems as the other two from two years ago.
    It just doesn't really add much over the smaller and much cheaper pullback sets, besides the steering and being a bit larger. It's so awkward when it's a lot more costly than those, and also in the same price range as the much more parts heavy sets like the Bugatti Bolide and Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica. Granted, they don't have a pullback motor and their resemblance to the real cars is decided off the mark in places, but have drastically more intricate builds than ones with two pullback motors. Those two sets I mentioned also have significantly more parts, even if most of them are tiny, but it adds to the complexity of the builds.

  • @klausm5460
    @klausm5460 Před 3 měsíci +2

    I was quite excited about this particular set. I like Formula E, because I think a transition to electric propulsion is also neccessary for motorsport to lead the way for better awareness of EV performance and fun. And the combination of pull-back and steering also intruiged me. I still think the set can be quite attractive at a discount, but I agree with the criticism concerning the market positioning.

    It‘s a nice set i just think why did they not do it on the mustang or why didn‘t made it like the nascar camaro, mc larren gtr etc. it would have been more functions than just the pullback
    disclaimer: i‘m just a bit confused why they didn’t do it

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Well I think this version is more confusing. It has steering, but it has a pullback motor, which means you cannot really navigate the set easily while you play with it because there's a resistance in reverse. Steering makes no sense with the pullback motor, you only do burnouts as you saw in the video.

    Ok, so - question. After all those interviews you had, I still do not know why they cannot match the colour on stickers with Lego parts - specially parts that they have no issues with different shades.

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  Před 3 měsíci

      Well, I guess because I never had a chance to ask the people responsible for this. Some colors work better than others btw, dark bluish grey for example is a very good match, as you see orange doesn't work well.

    • @andyblondyn1898
      @andyblondyn1898 Před 3 měsíci

      @@RacingBrickI do know that. I did ask you some time ago to ask Lego designers or so - do you think you could ask people you know from Lego to find out why? Orange is very consistent on panels and other sticker-ish bricks, so I do not see any reason why they cannot make it. Thank you in advance!

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@andyblondyn1898 believe me, I tried to ask for opportunities, but usually it's the other way around. They tell me who is available to ask, and that's it.

    • @andyblondyn1898
      @andyblondyn1898 Před 3 měsíci

      @@RacingBrickI do understand that, but at the same time you surely have some "pals", if not friends, who are designers or working in Lego in different roles - are they not able to find it out? Or they just simply cannot tell you the answer anyway? Thank you for your reply and have a great week :)

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@andyblondyn1898 it doesn't work like this. This is a multinational company, it's people's actual job. I cannot ask them as a friend to share details about their work, especially if we are talking about something to criticize. There are proper ways to approach LEGO as a media, raise questions, but some departments are difficult to get access to.

    I really wish LEGO wasn't tacitly endorsing the Saudi government with all the sets plastered in NEOM branding they're putting out. I know it's accurate to the real-life cars, but maybe a licensing deal just shouldn't happen if it's this heavily associated with an autocrat's pet vanity project.
