hello
If you think about it, the ability for pieces to come off easily is adding realism for play!
💀
💀💀💀
NAAHHHHH
To be fair, it would be fun for them to disintegrate on the smallest contact, just like in the real races
It looks very accurate, I can't wait for other F1 cars
Aston’s ones is coming in second half of the year! 👍🏻
@@maxchin8I'll have to pick it up!
Hopefully we get a Ferrari next year since they already have a licencing partnership
@@maxchin8 Awesome! I love the color of them
I'm still hoping for Ferrari as well.
Finished building mine and i really gotta say lego deserves a huge round of applause for this set. Theres so many really accurate details that alot of non f1 fans would not notice. The side pods shape is spot on, even down to the intake! The front wing is a huge improvement over the w12 mercedes with it being closer to the ground but the rear wing i do find to be way too bulky. All in all i think its a 10/10 set still despite the price hike!
If you are an f1 fan you notice this car is unmarked aside from the green camera pod, and the suit is really bad
Man, march is going to be one heck of a month for lego with all of these new releases, I am confused on which one of these I am going to pick up. There are so many good choices! Love your reviews man, keep them rolling!
All ? 😂😂
Man I'm still trying to catch up one buying the ones retiring at the end of this year that I want. I'd quite like these on release but I got other priorities lol
@@iplayzthegames6968 I can relate to you, I am also trying to catch up on all of the other sets released in 2022 and 2023 before focusing on 2024 sets.
The next month is gonna be fire🔥🔥
Why tho?
This year is pure gold for F1 fans :)
Tbh I’d prefer if it came with 2 figs and some spares to make it for each driver. Cause this isn’t for Oscar or Lando, it’s generic
Hey your videos are great and I love the reviews on the models I can't wait for more
6:41 HE SAID CLUTCH POWERS!!!!!!
Power
😂😂
I’ve been waiting for this vid
Dude, i love your content on lego technic cars and speed champion
That ski detail is neat. Seems like this is a lot better than mercedes one, and it's a single pack and not double-pack with some additional price for a car that you may not want. Also more vibrant colours help a lot.
At 03:07 - I love those new wedge shaped slopes - a mini version of the headlights wedge from a couple of years ago. I need to get a few as soon as they appear on Lego Pick-a-Brick for a project that I am working on, hopefully they won't be only available in black. It's an attractive model. I think the fragility is just a Lego replication of what you sometimes see in F1 cars anyway.
Another one to add to my McLaren Speed Champions collection!
More printed pieces are always welcomed, but with any race cars in general a higher number of stickers are expected. To me, the real shame is the lack of an option for Lando & Oscar. Doing so for 76909 Hamilton & Valtteri had to have increased sales for the set to some degree with builders like me who bought 2 sets to make one of each. Maybe just not enough to warrant the additional pieces and stickers. Something to remedy in the aftermarket I suppose.
I love this build, I really think they nailed the front wing especially, but the sidepods are also so beautifully shaped, and I love your reviews too haha thank you for these! : )
FINALLYYY A REVIEWWWW
I love the stickers. It's such a therapeutic pause in the building process. Use tweezers folks! it helps out tremendously.
Exactly this ^ I've been using tweezers for LEGO stickers for several years now. I don't even approach sticking without them.
ngl kinda crazy when this set costs as much as the merc combo set with two cars, with the merc combo being proper detailed
Thanks for the review!
P.S. You miss new 1x2 slope parts where you put first two stickers.
built mine today, really nice little build and great for display very detailed
Looks sick
Looks like a genuinely fun build! Can’t wait to get it for my friend.
Finally, slick tires so I don't have to wear them out of my treamil.
What a beautiful set! I want it
I'm not usually one to bitch about stickers, but a sticker on an already printed part? The hell LEGO?
We NEED a comparison between the 42156 vs 76909 Please!
It's been my favourite lego model so far, very impressed
Having built this myself yesterday, I can now see you switched around the two rear orange rear spoiler pieces that are on the side. The angle on the sticker should go rear/upwards.
You’ll understand when you check.
There also seems to be a discrepancy in boxart and instructions: the rear light looks to be in different positions.
Speed champions design team is at a complete other level 🔥
2:29 What a twist!
Oh by the way I voted for this car! Happy to see it first on the channel! Very detailed work as always my friend! Keep it up and you will have 1 mil subs in no time!
My last Lego set I’ll ever build. Thanks for all the great memories!
U okay m8?
Don’t stop brother
@@pricelessppp doing good brother, just moving on from a great hobby. Thank you speed champions for all the memories!
This month is quite literally the month for f1 fans.
hehe
Not sure if it got a mention in the Merc build video a few years back, but they cleverly got around not using slick tyres by printing the Pirelli details in blue which was the colour for the wet/groved tyres, where as now they have slicks they've used yellow which is the colour for the medium compound tyre.
Also the 2 cars are completely different generations of F1 cars.
Had to pick this one up. Havent built lego since i was a kid (42). The quality and design is super clever. They should go ahead and do a few more deals with other teams. I’d love to have an alpha tauri
Definit6ely an improvement in detail though the fragile nature of the model can be summed up as this is a display model opposed to playable toy. Lot of stickers, but they nicely complete the look and the printing on the tires look spectacular. Definitely excited for this one and the Mustang.
Amazing video from you again! Please review the polybag to👍
Got it yesterday, it really is a nice one, it looks great! Now I wish LEGO would release the rest of the grid
Since you point out how the dimensions of the wheels would conflict, perhaps the reason for them not making the rear wheels of the icons set a different size is that it would be out of system, idk the dimensions of the new wheels, but if they’re say 4 studs wide, in order to fit the original size they’d have to make it 5 and a half studs wide, which might violate some compatibility rule? I don’t know if they want all their wheels to be integer stud widths.
amazing
Definitely going to get 2 of these for both Lando and Oscar. Pity that the Aston Martin will be in a 2 pack.
I plan to grab all 5 speed champs once available!
Might buy 2 of these and another of the Mercedes and then swap the wheels around on 1 so that I have one of each on slicks and wets lol
Very exicitig to see kawasaki and big mercedes f1 building rewiews😊
one thing im bummed about, they didnt add the frnt wheel gaurds, but im fine with it bc even i cant think of how to add them
Already on shelves at a certain supermarket chain just can't get the points in the lego app yet much to my ire. They hadpretty much most of the March car related releases in various quantities. Was half tempted to grab the McLaren FormulaE one but just went with the standard F1 as I was waiting for that one mostly.
I think at least they could add mini wheel arches which current F1 cars have on front tires ...
Love that orange helmet
Cool
This is the best looking speed champions set since the audi quattro s1 (which I was lucky enough to get my hands on). I think it looks more accurate than the icons mclaren despite being at a much smaller scale. If I was a fan of f1 I would buy this instantly
One thing I discovered with the new Pirelli printed tires is you can fit the older smaller speed champion wheel covers, so the 6 stud wide sets, their wheel covers can fit on these wheels
I've been watching most of your videos and while I enjoy watching you build these speed champions sets, most technic sets seem to offer much more for similar prices.
I think speed champions should have an RRP of 20-22 euros and I would definitely consider buying some of them, as they look pretty nice
Im very surprised that this set is the most wanted. I never realized how popular F1 was, I was even more surprised by the amount of people at my school with McLaren F1 hoodies. I personally am more excited for the BMW and E-tron sets, but this set definitely looks cool, and the building techniques are cool. 🏎️
One thing they did well with the mercedes set was giving it the Cinturato tire lettering since it wasn't a slick tyre
First also love your channel
This video got me screaming "i need it" like I'm Spongebob.
if I had money I'd buy so much of this stuff
just got this today and all i can say is that it looks better in person, price is not bad for it and lastly the only thing i dont like is that piece behind the front tires it bothers me when it falls down and get turn easily.
I really love your content. I wanted to know if the new printed tires could fit on the Porsche 963 Lego made last year.
Ive build the set last night and its amazing.... You say that the tail falls off... Mine is very secure. No isseus at all with stability... Only had a problem with one sticker... It didnt loose the paper very wel and some color got stuck on the paper screwing up the sticker...
I’ll definitely be getting this set. Only disappointed with the detail on the minifig
Yoooo, Iam waiting for the BMW and the Mustang!!
Man I wish they made the wheel covers over the front two wheels
So happy I didn't waste money on the old Mercedes F1 LEGO Speed Champion build with those silly tiny tires, LEGO sees a big opportunity here with these F1 Speed Champion sets to justify the new tires, printed parts and random wedge pieces to help the shape at this scale, I miss the old Ferrari Team LEGO sets
HEY! They did a good job incorporating the treaded tires in that set by making them look like they were wets
While assembling side pods and spoilers are so weak they will fall apart while fixing other parts
Also while fixing halo the holder will increase the tension with pipe and fall apart overall 8/10
bought this set a day ago and i decided not to put on the 11 stickers of 26
10 of them being advertisements 1 being the orange triangle and i gotta say it looks a thosand times better! really like this set can't wait for the aston martin double pack!
The formula season seems to be really cool.
Will be picking these up. Love speed champions and F1! Just need a Red Bull
Tututuututuuuu max verstappen
For some odd reason. The Lego builder app doesn’t include the f1 in the Speed Champions category. It doesn’t even show at all
Im waiting for the 1:8...i hope the 765lt or speedtail
cool formula 1 lego
I just want a 2023 or 2024 Lego F1 car in that scale
I'll probably buy it mostly for the wheels to put on customs or something
My applause to designer of this McLaren👏
Them falling apart so easily is correct to the real cars. If I'm crashing them together wings and parts falling off is awesome.
When I started collecting in 2020, the pricing made it very attractive and they didn't take up much space. It's gotten to the point now, where I grumble about the prices, but still buy them anyway. And, with 50 8-wide cars, space is now becoming an issue. I'm def stopping at 60!
Been wanting to get the Merc F1 speed champions, but not really excited about the AMG One in the set. With this one pack Mclaren F1 I could get an F1 speed champion at cheaper price (than a two-car set)
Considering how bulky the rear wheel is, it really should be attached in a better way. Other than that I can't really criticize it. Can't wait to have this and all the upcoming Speed Champions F1 cars.
Great evolution! I like it and color combination😍
But. You couldn't choose the driver number - quite sadly...
27 up from 20 is a bit of a bit bummer, but with the added colors and details in this one, they are gonna get my $$$ I feel that the Mustang and such needs to cap at 24/25 and makes sense the F1/race cars justify to 2/3$ increase
I remember when Speed Champions sets were $15 :( Back then it was easy to justify getting a whole bunch of them. At $27 though... I might still buy them occasionally, but not nearly as many. Don't know how much of the price increase is inflation vs. greed, but if it's greed, it's going to get LEGO less profit from me as I just can't justify buying two cars at $27 each when I used to be able to get 4 for $60. Still this McLaren set is very neat and I may pick it up at some point, but even then I'll wait until it's on sale somewhere.
I personally pre ordered the McLaren mp4/4
Can you use the McLaren wheels (without wheel cover) on the Mercedes F1 Car? I prefer the racier slick tyres over the full-wet which reminds me of the 2021 Belgian GP.
Will you do a review of the upcoming polybag? And if so, could you tell us where you find them? I can’t seem to find polybags easily if not on the resale market
Second that.
It's on sale here in Finland, loved it, but, the front wing is wobbly which is really annoying
I like the model for the scala. It would be great to see f1, wec,and Nascar more in this size. This will be a expensive month 😂
Nooo. I needed that new wedge brick in plain black.
My rear tires are touching the rear wing. Don’t really understand what I did wrong cause now the rear tires won’t rotate without inadvertently removing the rear wing
wow
I prefer the W12, (maybe because I’m a Mercedes fan) but I do think I will buy the tyres and steering wheel pieces from the McLaren set off Bricklink and add then to the W12
I think sculpting and detailing cant be directly compared, since W12 and MCL60 are from completely different F1 eras. W12 beeing from high downforce 2017-2022, and MCL60 form ground effect era 2022- present. These both sets perfectly represents these two eras in their own way! Cant wait to see what Lego will do with Speed Champions Aston Martin F1 car!
Looking forward to getting this set when the price is right. It would be a shame for the Speed Champions theme to lose popularity because of a loss of value/affordability.
Thanks for the review but the rear wing side stickers are wrong, The orange and blue OKX side panels are fitted incorrectly. The right part must be fitted to the left and the left part to the right.
I really hope Lego continues with all the F1 teams, I would buy them all. I hated that I had to get the Merc with another car I don't care about, the F1 car by itself is perfect.
That window would make a *brilliant* radiator for a hot rod. Anyone up for a B model?
if there were no stickers and all prints it would actually be an amazing set. like this its ok
looks fantastic even if the wheels are even size but the loose parts and 1 or 2 stud connections kind of stink
The set looks great and was fun to build. Accurate enough but lacking the front wheel deflector aka the wheel brows. Strange they’re not included.
I don't think there are any parts in this scale that would fit there and could represent those elements
This is a great set. But I can't get with how many new molds legos is producing, especially for slopes. It's moving away from being lego and becoming mega bloks, but not in a good regard. Lego's slope portfolio has probably doubled in the past 10 years.
How is it not good? It’s still Lego, and allows for more complex and organic shaping. Lego staying blocky would’ve just kept the company low
@@Looksmaxmogger Well, think about if you have a parts collection you're building from. It's another pair of left and right you've got to keep track of/differentiate when putting together mocs. Not to mention all the color variations it might come in. Complex shaping is the goal, but it's much more interesting to use standard parts in novel ways to achieve that; e.g. tiles on hinges, balls joints or other means of flexibility. Then it's also easier for others to replicate your work without needing to buy new or rare pieces. I'm not a mad traditionalist like slugger, it just seems like Lego is being a bit less deliberate with their new part designs these days. I'd much more like to see a new hinge design or a plate with studs on top and bottom, before they release their thousandth wedge.
@@BlackringIII not an issue lol
@@BlackringIII Lego could add parts more slowly, yes, but if the parts are sufficiently different from each other, I'm more than happy to have them
@@BlackringIIIgod forbid you have to keep track of left and right pieces
