now, there is another permadeath mode called "second chance" which gives you an extra life every 3% of the game you complete. I have a question about it - do the chances stack? if I already have another chance and I make 3% of the game without dying, do I get a third chance?

Been itching to get into Roleplaying again. Used to do it in mmorpgs like WoW and Age of Conan years ago... Neverwinter Nights online community is looking really fascinating, I might have to take the plunge and dive in.

Impressive work of pioneering! Some quick thoughts for improvement: - Activation of the running (Shift), walking or crouch key (CTRL) at certain speed thresholds. Though I also like the intervallic activation of the movement key (W) in dependency of the walking speed, as it enables continuous speed control instead of sole discrete movement speeds (walking, sprinting). - Adding face tracking e.g. via OpenTrack for more intuitive view and aim. I imagine this to work well in combination with a gamepad, though this might show insufficient precision especially for shooters. - Hand gesture recognition for simple games, e.g. showing fist as primary action key (mouse 1) or open hand towards camera as interaction key (E).

I love Robert E. Howard's works, and find it is hard to "play" it in most Fantasy RP Servers, to my pleasant surprise, I found most long term popular RP Servers on Conan Exiles tend to be Conan-lore servers nowadays. Im playing in one now that has hundreds of regular players and always maxed our server at all times and its great. No perma-death unless under RP conditions, and factional PVP.

I came across your channel some time ago and I have probably watched your videos on player freedom and Permadeath in RP games 10 times each. and an image of three labels you have in some of those, usually where you say "the pillars of a great MMO" one being power to the players one being permadeath but the last pillar "story driven" I do not understand. you have a dedicated video that explains that one? I just can't help feel that story driven would conflict with the players making their own stories. like how in WoW, the players didn't kill Onyxia, some guy in a book/comic did and that's the cannonical death of Onyxia. and ever since Blizzard can't help themselves putting their powerful NPCs into every big raid. to be the actual guy that kills the big bad. Thrall killing deathwing for example. would love to know your take on the whole thing :)

It's a video like this that got me into the Neverwinter Nights RP community. Even after all these years there's really no better place for telling immersive stories, with the freedom of choice and consequence. Fantastic retelling of a story.
