It really was such a huge trend back then, just very bulky and orange. It's such a super strong and great wood to work with, but I know what you mean!! I think paint washes can do a lot of what some stains can't as well so you can get it just in the right tone family that you want it to be in. There's a paint color I've been wanting to try Aloquine by fusion mineral paints. It's very popular for doing washes and it really turns out lovely.

Thank you, I appreciate that!!😊 Only parts were real wood like the drawer fronts, the top and the sides were particleboard with fake laminate wood print, but it was a good sturdy piece to work on! 90's furniture was pretty heavy 👍🏻

💛💛Thank you so much!!😊 Yep, the top and the sides were particleboard covered with laminate print👍🏻 I put a clear bonding primer on by Country Chic before I painted it, it went on really easily 😊👌🏻

@@RoidedGay That's really interesting about the frog tape, I didn't know that! That makes a lot of sense now why sometimes you can buy the frog tape in the containers that clicks shut, I'm gonna make sure that I save the container for my other rolls. Yep, I've used Flotrol before in the past, it was quite a long time ago but I believe it worked well. Now I often use enamel paints that are self-leveling since then and I just try not to overwork them, typically using a Wizz high density foam roller if I'm not using good quality synthetic bristle brush. It was a really nice change of pace to work with this type of chalk paint this time:) Especially in the stage before I put the clearcoat on, the color is just so perfect looking, It reminded me of back in the early 2000's when it was popular to wear high coverage super matte foundation haha 😍

@@chandrairelan7132 I built the base 👍🏻 I bought one long piece of wood at Home Depot, cut in into the separate pieces and drilled them together with pocket holes. And then drilled it all into baseboards I attached underneath. Oh there's no worries for that with this kind of clay. It's called DAS clay, it dries very hard. It's really exceptional clay to work with, the best I've ever used!!👌🏻😊

@@Cakemares7307 Of course, no problem! It's definitely unlike almost any air dry clay I've used. Another one that is quite strong but not as smooth to use is called paper clay. And that one's also good to use on furniture, but DAS is my favorite!!
