- Wow guys, this was probably the most extensive furniture makeover I've done so far!! In this project I see if I can transform a basic chest into a gorgeous high end entry table that I saw online. I get into using a Jig Saw, I paint a faux wood finish using a graining tool, similar to how you would use the brand Retique It, but with paint and stain you can find at home already! I also try out a new topcoat by General Finishes and found my new favorite! And lots more in this video! Thank you for watching and your support!

I am New to your channel tonight. I was worried when the fake wood maker came out 😮. I didn’t know how you were going to turn that into your inspiration photo, but Holy Moly Girl, you killed it!!! It looks amazing! I really was impressed how layer after layer it kept looking better and better. I love your work, but I do wish that the after was longer. It’s fine watching the project progress, but I want to bask in the results. After watching for ~ a 15 minute video we only get maybe 7 seconds of the reveal? That’s the best part!

I cannot say how impressed I am by your talent and knowledge. I am your newest fan! I am trying to get up the nerve to try my hand at the woodgraining tool and you have inspired me to just jump out there and just do it! I like how you used the two tones of paint but then when you used stain over top of that my head exploded! That is what has been missing in every video of that technique I've seen to date. I'm going to check out you other videos to see if you do a tutorial on it. Thanks and stunning makeover!

Yes go for it!!! It's really kind of forgiving because you can do it so many ways and if you're feeling like it's too dull, or too dark, or too light you just throw some different layers on there. So far I haven't done it exactly the same for any of my projects, I just kind of let my eyes decide. I think layers have been the key. One of my earliest videos on my channel is another gaining project if you want to check that out, it's done in a different way than this one, but beware it has pretty crummy filming and editing 😬😄

I hope your stain was a water base, cause you can't use a water base top coat over a oil base stain. I'm am very impressed with your talent
Thank you so much!! 😊 I was concerned with that for a bit as well because I remembered that I had used an oil based stain once I was about to go in with the water-based topcoat (I would suggest the same as you) but I checked Minwax water-based polycrylic on their website and I was relieved to see that it was ok to use over oil or water based stain, and it's looking great no weird crackling or lifting or anything!😊👌🏻
Look for a tool called a trim puller 🙂
