That turned out so beautiful! What a lot of work. My fantasy self would love to do this and my real life self would lose half the hardware and get distracted in the middle so that two years later its still only half done. So cool you could see the potential in the garage sale piece. That on its own is such a skill!

I do suspect this says more about me than you - but you go to so much hard and exacting work only to paint it. Why? Just buy a pressure paint sytem and save your energy.

I’m not sure if I’m understanding your question correctly. For the top, I i was going to show the bare wood with stain so I did a lot of prep work on that, but the stain didn’t take well and so I went to plan B which I think gave it a more tied in look 👍🏻
I do have a couple different spray guns for paint which I use outside in the summertime but winter is tricky, can’t wait until summer!!:)
