@@lfuentes4098 I really like that look too! It's been quite a while since I've used cerusing wax, that's a good idea for another project! Thank you 😊

@@therefurbishedlife oh yeah I would love a dark base and white wax tutorial. But I meant this project is kind of the opposite white base with the darker stain in the deeper grain. It looks very nice. Like cerused oak. 😉

Thank you!! 💛 I love them too, not your typical ones. Think it was just what it needed:)

Also, I need to rewatch it and memorize how you did the drawers. I just realized that would make such a pretty color on a wood table that I have been wanting to redo for my kitchen. Do you think it could work on a table?

@@KR-zd7ow yep it would for sure! You just need to have a really good topcoat for tables. I generally don’t do oil base top coats on furniture because there’s a chance that it can yellow overtime but unless you have a really durable water-based topcoat (there’s a couple that might do the trick) but I would recommend an oil base topcoat for a table. And the applicator I use is this blue round sponge that you can get off Amazon for pretty inexpensive, but it makes a really perfect finish.

That orange oak finish always reminds me of the faux wood from my childhood. I absolutely love wood, so it's a shame that all the fake stuff had that oak look because I really do like oak, but it has really turned me away from it. Oak has a beautiful grain, but I just see fake, so I have to go really ultra light, or really, really dark like Jacobean (several coats)to diminish the grain, which just feels wrong to me. Any other wood, I like to see the natural grain. The 80s and 90s ruined Oak for me.

It really was such a huge trend back then, just very bulky and orange. It's such a super strong and great wood to work with, but I know what you mean!! I think paint washes can do a lot of what some stains can't as well so you can get it just in the right tone family that you want it to be in. There's a paint color I've been wanting to try Aloquine by fusion mineral paints. It's very popular for doing washes and it really turns out lovely.
