Great video! What's the website you use for these deck lists?

I've been trying midrange wind, and it's not even that bad... It's just gigawol singlehandedly making it unplayable.

How effective is aggro in the current meta and why does Japan play it so much? I been playing for a little over a year, the only aggro I played was FF13 when I first started. Felt like it could be shut down with any number of available board wipes. If they did, then I lost. What are aggro decks are there besides FF13 and knights? My competitive season is over, I may play around with aggro.

Haven’t watched yet but already the least exciting video… which has nothing to do with you, but how boring the current meta is. Looked at the top 8 and fell asleep instead of watching it live lol. But I really do love me some Ghoul list reviews. Can’t wait for a new set though

Hey Ghoul, just wanted to comment as a new player the series have been really helpful. I've come to build the budget Wol7 mono water list and been having great mileage with it, thanks a ton for these videos and hoping for more.

I don’t think anyone likes playing against Knights.

I already have it all. Bought singles almost complete. I have 21 decks now. FF2,3,4,5,6, soldier, avalanche, 8,10,13,14,15, mobius, ffbe, discard deck, cost 3 deck, archfiend, summoner, dragoon, samurai, knight. So I guess I won't running out of meta this time. I don't like sky pirates, weak or I just dont like the game play. Not interested with soiree, and pirates and WoD as well.

Howdy! I'm the wol7 player haha. I let my nerves get the best of me game 1 - I missed that I had 7 elements in break for Greg which was absolutely what cost me. Game 2 I felt a little better but Refia do what Refia does haha. It was a great experience though! Won't ever make those mistakes again :P

Small thing to remember, you cannot use chocobo to completely dodge the Garuda damage like that. The cost is chosen at resolution, so if your opponent tries to protect one forward, you can always blast a different one. In this case Jesse could have instead blasted Ace or Fran off of the board. The Demon works in a similar way, you only declare which effect you are using, not which Job or Element you are choosing.

I think a storm wind is pretty dangerous. As others have said, you usually don't want to cast a Thordan if you have just gotten his effect off already. Obviously that's powerful, but hitting a chocobo, Choco/mog, Alexander ex, and then leaving 1cp to cast it and getting double effects is pretty nutty. Not sure if we'll get some high ex storm lists, but that's where I am thinking.

No need to High-roll with this. Water is already good at giving you information on the top pf your deck. Astrologian let you dig and you either have the thordan/remora or at least help having better odds in your next 4 cards. Basically reads like pay 9, put a backup into play and a 7k body, flip the top 8 of your deck and prok an EX.

I think knight is easy to prevent in a ChArk list. Everytime they attempt Ramza I Mist Dragon or Instant removal in response and if they don't flip the Lasswell I'm mostly fine. Cuchulain the Lasswell before they go to combat is great too. Just many answers in general.

Another interesting card to stuff in as so many are going so wide so fast these days is 5 cost Earth Kefka 19-057L ($0.92). Being able to cheat for free if 3 or more forwards combined with being a 5 cost for WoLmakes for some interesting plays. I noticed you didn’t do the suggested upgrades which I assume is to basically make Joey’s list (get shantottos, etc)

Too funny. I developed a 15/WoD around the same time as Joey and it was a shock to see that video and results pop up. I started around launch of Hidden Hope so got some starters and loved the retainers. Used your budget video awhile ago, then when I eventually got nachts (pulled zero from both box and prerelease) smashed the WoD in.

I love this! I also like the suggestions regarding how to upgrade it. Your video regarding budget retainers was huge in getting me into the game and dipping my toes into trading and buying singles for it. And now totally fallen down the rabbit hole.

An interesting experiment. I’d like to see how other mono element lists can be made viable on a budget. As another place to start looking, perhaps a mono Fire list. I’ve been eyeing Samurai as a potential budget build, but there is the question of what cards can be added in on a budget that improves its game plan.

See the description - Materia Hunter had a small bug. The current list only had room for a single WoL and Tidus due to a small pricing error on Materia Hunter. The updated deck list is the sub 50 - however, the first thing I'd do is add the second Warrior of Light if I had the budget. Thanks for watching and enjoy!

This card looks nuts.

One big card to hit off Lunafreya that you didn't mention is Clarus. If you're in a 4c pile and mull into 0 backups, play this and hit clarus, you search edgar and then have all 4 wol colors. And a 7k cuz why not.

She's probably going to read better than she plays... Default game will still be Tidus and two Leos.

I think the thing to consider on Remora/Thordan/Tyro off of Lunafreya is "do I still need to cast them?". In many ways, we don't want to have to cast those due to their high cost. We give up our tempo to curate our hand with our best card with Thordan/Tyro. Now, there is a real possibility in many games where we get both the curated search and DON"T have to play the card. We can simply pitch it for other plays. This card is tailor made for Ea/Wa Chark at present as it runs both, has a decent EX count, and is one deck that really can't stand not seeing its combo pieces. This solves most of those problems in a single card. My issue with Lunafreya is that it exists, it is that its LB should LB - 5. You can one extra "mulligan" per game guaranteed, plus a LB - 1. But being able to do this twice is rough.

I think the Cloud on the Nacht list is literally S fodder for LB Cloud. He is over fixing for lightning with stuff like the moogle to have access to at least 2 lightning from backups to pay the LLLL cost.

i think top NA players, just don't enjoy aggro, but most recognize how good it is, but in general there are a lot of players who still play aggro. Esp 13, ice lightning etc

The Shinryu split was very helpful for the Giga WoL matchups on day one!

I think you are missing that the lightning back up shantotto kills Cid Randell off a T1 Larsa/Sarah (FFL) into it T2 if your opponent T1 Cid Randell. Makes it so you are not having to use Little Leela or Cuch to get out of that situation. And given they are not running LL, who needs to survive a turn in the first place, it makes sense... granted still a 1-of that is non-searchable.
