that flashback arrester will do absolutely nothing to mitigate fire. the device itself is made from flammable meltable material.

I have 2 newer cars and these spouts make it 100% impossible to get a single drop of gas into them. The spout doesn’t go in far enough and the design of the car (ant-siphon?) just makes all the gas spill with none actually going into the car’s tank. Ridiculous!

Remenber many years ago that one dumb man used a US Medal 5 gal. jerry can to poure gas into a hot mower and poured gas over the hot mower ome how .He ended up in the hosptal with 2nd & 3rd degree burns all over his body, His lawer sued US Medal for manufacting a unsafe gas can, whitch put US Medal out of busness, The 5 gak jerry can was desiged to fill up a Jeep real fast during WW2, You should use a 1 or 2 gal gas can to fill up a mower that is cold & never Hot, Then the Feds from consumer end of gov, then ordered all new cans have all this new safety junk in the new gas cans, That dumb guy must have ben a brain surgeon!

The best way to fix it is not to buy the the over priced peace of junk in the first place ! Go buy a 7 gallon heavy duty water container instead liquid gose in in and easely work s for Me 😅

I think you're unfairly singling out Midwest industries... Well they make kind of a s***** design all the manufacturers are doing this because of government regulations and all of their designs equally suck from what I've seen.

The plastic mesh filter is just fine and I've never had issues at the gas station... I think you could have problems with diesel but whatever.

I love these. They are very easy to use. I guess I'm just not the man you are and hate anything new.

An alternative to heating the can is to use a little Syl-Glyde silicone lube on the fitting.

If Midwest was truly concerned about safety, they would make their fuel cans out of METAL rather than plastic that is easily punctured or eaten through by rats (yes it has happened to me).

Thank you! I went to fill one of these nightmare cans when I used a gas generator yesterday. I was livid. Gas splashed back when filling a five gallon can. I actually only got close to 2 gallons. I will definitely be modifying that can.

Hello Mike I got the Cx obd and it doesnt want to connect to the bimmercode app. I tried everything and troubleshooting and it still cant connect. It gives me the "connection error" and to read the manual for further assistance but will not connect and i dont want to buy full version of bimmercode if it wint connect. It seems to connect to the demo version but not the full version

Do NOT heat the can without flushing the gas out with water first! You really need to pin a comment about that, it's a huge potential safety hazard.

"Filter" - Nooooooo! That's a Flash Arrestor designed to stop a spark (like static electricity) from setting the gas can (AND YOU) on fire. Granted, these safety can's are a Royal pain in the A-s! Remove the Flash Arrestor at your own risk.

I recently bought 2 new gas cans and HATE the new spout. A ridiculous demonstration of so called safety. It makes it virtually unusable. This is not progress in any way, shape, or form.

A petcock or tank valve make a good vent. Screw into the plastic. Be sure not to drill the hole too large.

Forget fixing the spring , instead throw it away , install vent and trash mesh insert , go back to using common sense when using gas can , urinate on government mandates 😊

Man, I miss those flexible metal nozzles with the double-ended threaded part so you could stick the nozzle into the tank for storage.

I hate the way Android uses my words and twist around to be non-English. What I was basically talking about was a vented half inch yellow flip tab vent that comes with a cap.

Mike thanks for your help I did that to mine as well I hated that system and just put up with it for many years and now I don't have to. As an added bonus something you could add to your next video if you like is to have people install a gas vent in the tank. I went on Amazon and bought a pack of 10 yellow half inch gas caps you simply drill a hole in the tank and empty tank read the instructions basically, and then you pop this thing through the hole and now you got to pull tab tank vent. I know that they dented through the original handle and all that but I don't trust that thing at all I'm probably even going to take that existing junk handle off and I can buy new flex neck handles on Amazon also a lot easier to use. Just a heads up take it easy and thank you

Arent you suppose to spray the oil at the top of the crown and let it slide down to bottom. Too much oil causes damage to the check engine light

Had to buy one of these last month. It seals so tight it expands so much when hot and implodes when cool. Then it was hot today and the can was almost empty. This thing sprayed fuel under pressure on me and the tractor! I see someone added a separate vent - do you think it's needed?

I can't believe you installed those yellow plastic vents!!! Today I just upgraded my plastic gas cans with the metal vent like a shader valve works great!!!
