Hey, no need for this to be the last drive of the season. Your lawn care guy told me he's got you scheduled for at least six more weeks! Looking forward to the carpet cleaning video! (seriously!)
Hi Dayton! Your logic makes sense. I think landscapers have the best intel on what the upcoming weather is going to be. So if he's still cutting, then the roads will definitely be good for driving! 😂 And thanks for the encouragement to get the carpet cleaning video out the door. So much footage, so little time to edit!

Nice to see you again. I have a 2017 GT 350 and live in the Midwest. So it goes into storage during the bad weather. I had a 2006 GTO and winter tires on the original wheels with ultra high performance summers on custom wheels. Loved that car, drove it all year round. But sadly one day I hit a patch of black ice ,spun the car into a tree and bent it. Totaled it. From that day I swore I would not drive my baby in the winter and I have not since. I drive the Shelby as long as I can till the cold is consistently in the 40's. Then it's storage time! I have two other vehicles to drive in the winter so for me it's an easy choice. Enjoy your car for as long as you can!

Your channel is the reason I went out and bought my 2019 Konami blue gt convertable, and then bought the k&n intake you recommended, thanks love it, I put it away last weekend for the winter . Makes spring extra nicer when the salt from winter gets washed away by April showers, than roofs down and I feel like a 18 yr old again (62)

I agree, when the April rain cleanses all of the winter soot, it is completely rejuvenating to put the top down and cruise. 18 forever! 😁
My last winter in NJ, moving down south to SC in June where I can drive my gt vert all year long as a daily driver!

I just cannot lock my Mustang over the winter 😊. It is also a convertible like yours. Ruby red paint and red seats. Maybe the only one in my country in red/red. We had some messages exchanged back in 2019 or 2020. Winter: I spent the extra money for real winter tyres 😢. In an Alpine country a must if you don't want it to hibernate ;-) Moreover all year tyres or real winter tyres are mandatory in the central European countries. For a good reason. On the other hand I want the driving fun with real summer tyres once the winter is over :-) I run on Pirelli P Zero in summer. They are gr8. Experts will have guessed right: It is an Ecoboost. For tax and insurance reasons. Other EU countries (e.g. Germany) do not rob you and have a little more favourable taxation. The winter tyres are Conti's. And I was happy to have them on snowy roads. Even with the driving mode on 'rain/snow' (10 speed auto) all year tyres get you easily into trouble. Well good winter tyres with rims are not cheap, but I mounted the winter tyres on the standard black five spoke rims.
Hi Thomas, it's good to hear from you! From what I remember, the taxes are higher when the engine size is bigger. I'm glad to hear you drive your Mustang throughout the year! I'm curious if you add weight to the trunk to improve the traction on the rear wheels? I had a BMW in the 1990s with dedicated snow and ice tires, and adding weight to the trunk changed the traction dramatically. Have you experienced similar with your Mustang? 😁
Great to see an update Mike! I enjoy driving mine year round and couldn't imagine putting it up for the winter. Of course it helps that I'm in Texas and we don't really have a winter like up north! 😂 Take care of your baby as you see fit.

I drive mine year round when temperatures are above 45° F. I also have the summer tires on my 2019 GT w/performance package. Furthermore, the + $10.000 for a new similar GT is what holds me back as well. The performance of the stock 2019 is even slightly better than the 2024.

On the subject of tires, I have summer tires on my garage queens year round including while in winter storage. My daily drivers are on all season tire from April to end of October and I switch to winter tires in early November until mid-April (or when a few rain showers has washed away all the road salt).

It’s absolutely fantastic to see you out once again in your amazing ruby red 2019 GT convertible! I’ve been enjoying your Watch with Mike channel, since my great uncle used to repair clocks for a living. You might recall that I live in MN and have a 2018 GT convertible with almost the same miles on the odometer (8,799 mi) and I keep mine as a garage queen over the winter. Since I have my Ford Edge SUV, I use that to get around the snowy MN winter roads instead. My GT convertible is hooked up to battery maintainer, and I put a can of Seafoam in the gas tank (full of premium fuel) over the winter months. Question, Mike: would you ever consider doing a winterizing video of your Mustang? It would be great to see what you’ve learned has worked well over the years since you’ve owned yours. Thanks! Hi Todd, it's great to hear from you and thank you for supporting both channels! My winterizing video would be the laziest video ever, because all I do is park the car in my garage and start it occasionally to keep the battery fresh. Nothing more! As long as the tires are properly inflated, they are so fat I am not worried about flat spots. My car has a new battery, which was replaced under warranty, and it seems to hold a charge for much longer than the original… So I don't bother with a trickle charger. And for the last few years the weather here in eastern Pennsylvania has been fairly mild. I don't use a fuel additive over the winter, but I do like making sure the tank is full. Apart from that I can't think of anything else that I do! 😁
My Mustangs stay in the garage during the winter. I swap wheels and tires on my Focus ST to true winter tires, not all season tires. When I was working I would drive the Focus ST every day to work all year long but now that I am retired I use the F150 more during the winter. I also coat the underside of all of the vehicles with Fluid Film to help minimize the salt damage.
Fluid film? That's new to me! I will have to check that out… It is nice to have alternate vehicles, for sure. In the 90s I had a BMW that I would annually switch to dedicated winter tires, and that made all the difference. I am also done with commuting, so being able to keep the car in the garage for the winter has been wonderful! Thanks for checking in and joining the conversation! 😁
Wool Wax is a product similar to Fluid Film that you might want to look into also. I bought the spray gun and extension wands to do it myself but there are shops that you can pay to do it for you here in MA.@@MikeFyxdt

Hi Mike, I still have my 2018 GT convertible and it will definitely hibernate from December 1st to March 31st like every year as I never drove it on salty Canadian roads. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires wore out after 20K miles, so I have swapped them for Michelin Pilot Sport 4 season tires that should last longer. My car has now 23K miles, and I have no plans to trade it in for an S650 as I am not a big fan of the tablet-styled interior nor the shape of the new hood.
@mederic999 - I really like the Michelin four season tires that I have on my winter wheels. I have never felt like they don't handle well enough… Or maybe I am just not pushing them to their limits. 👀 I'm still considering swapping to the winter wheels, since our weather here in Pennsylvania has been extremely mild the past few years. I agree with your assessment on the design of the new Mustang's digital dash and hood. I also think the hind quarters look more like a Camaro than a Mustang, lol! 😁
As a fellow 2018 GT convertible owner myself, I wholeheartedly agree with you! I only have a meager 8,799 miles and I’m sparing it from the Minnesota salt and sand that wreaks havoc on the undercarriage. Plus, I’m 100% in agreement that the 2024 tablet dashboard has robbed my enthusiasm of buying an S650 anytime soon. This new look will definitely need to grow on me… maybe in four more years after the next refresh? So we’ll see.

I drive my Bullitt year round. Personally, I don't see any real reason to get the S650. Nothing about it impresses me over what I have now and feature vs feature pricing the S650 is almost 10K more than my Bullitt cost me for what is nearly a parallel move.
Hi Keith! Glad to see you checking in… That's a great way of describing the S650, it would be a parallel move. Now if the new Mustang had 550 hp and an all-wheel-drive option it would be a completely different conversation! 😁
