I like your bundle technique. I used to work at a farm equipment sales & repair shop about 20 years ago and bought a double roll of bailer twine for $60. It is much stronger than your light twine so it holds better, and I still have about a half roll left. Keep it up. 👍

Oh! I think I should get some of that! My thin jute keeps snapping when I tie it. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!

I have lots of thin tree branches fallen on the yard. I didn’t know how to bundle up so the garbage truck can pick them up. I will go to home depot and buy these stuff. Thank you.

Thanks for a fantastic idea. I hate bundling trimmings using just twine, but, this makes it so much easier. I wish I knew about this 40-years ago.

Thank you Mark! Year after year I was wasting good money on much thicker string and rope in order to get a tight bundle. These lashing straps made all the difference, and now I can use inexpensive twine to get the job done. Thanks for sharing your comments and for watching!

    One word for you: tarp
    Much quicker... IMO.
    Nice yard!! 😀

Thanks! I still need to bundle for the trash people to haul it away. Tarp comes out when it's time to gather the leaves!

In Tallahassee, where I live, we just have to make a neat pile, bundling would be painful!!
In our wealthiest neighborhoods (where I do NOT live), they are allowed to put their yard trash in trash cans, which get emptied and put back at the curb. 😲

I was for sure someone would comment to lay the straps down first, then cut and stack.

George, I get bored easily and so I sometimes mix up the order, like you suggest. This isn’t rocket science, but it does make it a little bit easier and a little bit more fun!

Very cool !! Great idea !
However..i think of just laay the strap out horizontally, and lay the cut branches across it ,so When done just pick up strap and wrap it up

Nice big yard you have, Mike. I’m not a yard person but still enjoy watching you work... 😃

I used to say, “I love hard work! I could watch people do it for hours…“ yes, I love it here and enjoy the exercise I get from taking care of the yard. This time of year can be a little overwhelming, but come June and July everything should be under control. That’s when the party really gets started! 😄😎

I have been doing the lashing straps for two seasons. Been thinking about spending about $200 on a new brush shredder for sapling size stuff. Should i stick with just the straps or add the shredder?

I thought you were going to tie them up before cutting. Easier to cut evenly!

    • @MikeFyxdt
      @MikeFyxdt  Před 3 lety

If I cut them after I tied them up, it would be harder to put the pieces I cut off in the bundle. I guess it depends on the type of branches that you are gathering… Always worth trying something new!
