    Nice to see little boss man on your channel. I was asking myself if you got him involved in your wood stand business. He could make small bundles of starter wood ( kindling) from your scrap small pieces or your pine which starts very easily and he could get involved in your small business but more importantly send more time with you and enjoy each others company and reinforcing your father son bond.
    Just like when you have your father on , I can see in your eyes that you enjoy it and your father appreciates being with you.
    what more can you ask for. could be a few spelling mistakes but you get the message

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  Před 4 lety

      Thanks...oh yeah, he gets involved. He also has built 'his own firewood stand' in the backyard he fills up & then pretends to have people come & buy it...lol....definitely a great bonding experience for sure. 👍😀🍻

    I find that the branches chip much better if I do them when they are green. Also I avoid running anything that has been laying on the ground for a long time. Rain will splash dirt and mud on the branches and that will wipe out cutter knives in short order.

    • @TheUserid82
      @TheUserid82 Před 4 lety

      Not so much as they hold moisture so the first rain the lower 2/3's of the pile of chips will be wet. Big wood chip burners drop them in at a constant speed to give the heat of the fire box enough time to dry the chips without putting out the fire.

    I have a very small box store chipper and I have not even used for several years as it is a real pain to use and only does a good job on little branches. That chipper is so much better and does a better job too.

    Love that you call your son "Little Boss Man" Good that you recognize his status. 😆 I would like to get a chipper mainly to develop a food forest, but also to share with my neighbors who make big burn piles every year. Where I live only .3 acre lots, bad air from nearby large city and yearly smoke from forest fires.

    That's an amazing little chipper!! It would be really nice to have one of them around for little jobs. Plus you get wood chips for mulching around. Stay safe my friend!!

  • @tombryan720
    @tombryan720 Před 4 lety +1

    That is too cool.
    Yeah your concerns about Amanda and Boss Man handling a commercial chipper are a good thing. It was about 10 years ago in Tampa a lady working on a road crew got sucked into one and was blended on the spot. Yes they are very effective but I wouldn't own one unless I was in the tree business.
    Great that they let you demo it, now you're gonna have to do some landscaping with the chips.
    As popular as your channel has become I'm surprised other companies haven't reached out.

    Wow that was really cool they sent that machine down to you! Timing couldn't be better either as your trying to get the wood yard more organized. That feature of the detachable shoot is a very nice touch, some of those lanes in the wood yard might benefit from a nice layer of chips. Glad to see you are feeling better my friend!

  • @danielcope7929
    @danielcope7929 Před 4 lety

    So why don't you cut those branches to length for your stove? I understand it's small diameter but you have enough to make it worth it for several days of wood. Or even the chips. There's a bunch of people who use corn and pellets in the boilers.

  • @overmysholder

      Buffalo County = BIG bucks. I live at the edge of the Chequamegon National Forest. One of the nicest rides we fly is the Mississippi at low altitude. Very nice area. Motor Mike Morgan calls me a fake airplane. Guess it may have been a comment that he gets alot of free stuff. 😎. I like the fact that you come right out and tell us how a chipper landed in your yard. We Wisconsin boys wear our heart on our sleeves. Have fun.

    unless you're using the chips for something, a chipper like that seems like too much work. That pile would have burned up in 15-20 min and you wouldn't have to handle every.single.stick. (but you know that...) demo machine and what not.

    I will pay you $100 to borrow for 1 day. I will pick it up and return within 24 hours. I promise to return it extra clean after I wash with soap then bleach. There won't be one fingerprint on it when I return it. Who knows, maybe there are a few other husbands that will rent it and literally pay you for use of your new toy
