How To Burn A Brush Pile - Even If The Wood Is Green and Wet

- Here's my team's method for burning a brush pile that might not normally be dry enough to burn. We use a bale of straw with diesel fuel poured on it as a sort of wick that keeps the temperature high enough to ignite the brush or damp wood.

Just make sure your neighbor isn't down wind.
This is the best method I’ve ever seen. We use the pre-packaged bails from tractor supply co, a gallon of diesel and a road flare. Gone in no time!
This works! Just started a fire with all green trees in a thunder storm using this method!
real life videos. I love these, especially from places where I once lived.
Looks good fellers.👍🏻
Thank you for this guys, I’m in NY on a new lot with a ton of old wood and I had no idea how to take care of the piles I have been building.
A none crazy American, nice for a change 😊
Lived at Sparta back in 2002, and Ashe County with my family in 2020. Out west now, but trying to get back there on some land! I watch Tony's vids all the time. p.s. that boy can drive that X--pay him!!
👍 Interesting, thanks!
You have to throw some big teddy bears on the pile to make it burn good, guys!!! 😂
Take note that he is using diesel, not gasoline/petrol. Burn units are full of people who tried to light things with gas. My uncle is one. He poured no more than a cup of gas onto a hornet's nest. The gas vapors exploded around him and burned the skin off 80% of his body.
The guys that filled a bucket with diesel and dumped it on a pre lit fire😂😂🙌🏻🙌🏻 look up the video😂
Also definately don't use petrol. Your bonfire pile will just blow apart half the time
@@mightyconker3903 Petrol/gasoline will land you in the burn unit.
North Carolina in the house
Helps to have a Johnny
Pretty slow ignition on that smoker. Out here in NorCal you’ld be in a heap of trouble.
you try to do anything out of the limits of the cookie cutter normie expectations in california and you’re in a heap of trouble, even then you’re probably breaking ten laws at any given moment.
It helps to have a Johnny😂
👍
Thanks k because the diesel on the strawl bales and long burns and lots of heat do it’s work, b safe but get it done and over. They’s several big stumps piled up and snow on ‘em. Thanks for id to keep steady heet on the bad bows. Don’t Hv any equip just tools hand feel and a brain and a willing to at least try it t this way I will let you know. Hope to call u friend by the time I get it
Lots of land you have
Road flares, cheaper, burned very hot, if you can start burm fire with road flare you should not be burning...
Any how-to that includes an excavator... doesn't do me much good.
And if you don't have a trackhoe...
Your piles probably not that big and green then.
Straw or hay?
Either one will do just fine
So long as its dry
Using gallon of gas or dental fuel very dangerous, splash all over the place, people get burned, road flat in middle of pile burns very hot for 15 minutes, more than enough time to start a fire, then keep pushing outside branches inward...😏
Why burn it chip it and use it for mulch on your garden?
OK, Greta. 😁
Cause that would take dozens of hours more and you'd need to buy a $10,000 commercial grade chipper.
Plus, you can use the ash for your garden
If you put it out with water when you've got a big pile of embers then you've got charcoal, the very best fertiliser
Lol, try chipping a huge pile like that and stumps. Pile bigger than it looks on camera.
oh come on man - that's cheating - l
