I've just had my block pave drive extended and whilst Jim did a great job trying to match the bricks they are not quite right. Mt wife has moaned on about the different shades so I'm going to show her this. Got to be a much cheaper way of getting a nice consistent colour back without replacing all the bricks again.
many thanks for making this video. That drive looked great once finished.

Looks great! I used smart seal on my driveway, great product. One thing I would have advised is to have applied a clear coat (x2), smart seal do this in gloss or matte, though you can get a much cheaper one from screw fix. The clear coat essentially seals the drive in the condition it is in now, and helps to prevent sun damage and weeds penetrating into the joint compound. This makes maintaining the drive much easier and you can brush, wash or blow any debris off before it has chance to establish 👍

Rewatched the beginning then realized. Would have saved you so much messing about lol
Still, i'll never understand why people paint floors in the first place, better off using a cleaning solution soaking in and jetwashing it all clean afterwards.

There may be an issue with wear and tear regarding the paint but I'm sure the makers of the paint would have already sorted out the problems before putting their product on the market. I've read a lot of the comments, gosh how mean some people are!! As long as the owners of the property are happy that's all that counts!! Any teething problems re how long this will last can be sorted at a later date. I think it looks great guys. Love from New Zealand.

If the customer wanted a tarmac coloured drive, why didn't she simply lay tarmac? It was a shame to get rid of the brindle block colouring that was a useful contrast to the acres of dull grey tarmac in the road and footpath.

Just for your safety, do you realise that's a dust mask and doesn't protect you from any paint fumes?

VOC protecting in some respirators, aka paint fumes.

@@davideyres955 I know, this one is only a dust mask and not rated to protect against anything paint fumes related. VOC isn't just fumes so I simplified it. I am a commercial vehicle spray painter so I do have alot of experience in the types of mask required to protect.

Why spend hundreds of pounds doing the drive - but not fix the gaps at the front of the drive? really stupid cost saving when you consider how little extra that would have cost to fix.

Were the customers warned that it will now need painting every year to keep it looking good

You're allowed to generate noise from 0800-1800... It's shit of you to do this at 0630. People could be coping with shift work, babies, ill, and you mugs rock up and do this.

I decided not to get locals in again to complete my driveway like this as every time I have in the past, they’ve made a right mess of the job.
Instead, I hired some professional Polish builders and they did a similar job to this one, but they added 4 coats of paint, replaced the broken paving blocks for free and did the whole job in one day & charged less then the conmen who tried to do it previously. Still looks like new after 5 years. That border looked better before these two painted it black.

Taking the piss using a blower at that time never mind a petrol one. More than likely committed a nuisance there. There’s a reason why councils limit construction working hours!

Each to their own, but personally I think they taken a lovely block paved driveway & ruined it.
This is like the DIY days of the 1980s & just looks like someone painted their driveway (which is what they have) will be interesting to see what it looks like in a years time 🤔
