I'm the only one on my street that keeps their lawn edged. I'm not looking to compete with anyone, but it truly does make a significant difference. I need an edger though. I do mine with a weed wacker.
And weed wacked. So many yards look terrible because they've allowed grass or weeds to grow around an item without picking it up before mowing.
Yes, edging is the final touch that really makes a beautiful difference. It brings all the work you did together.

That is what I thought, too! How sweet that her Daddy taught her those things: and appreciation for beauty and hard work. Work is a blessing when seen in the right light. There is an incredible sense of self worth derived from a job well done. She would have worked hard and made it beautiful! And then Johnny came along and made it beautiful faster and gave her a blessings Johnny also values meaningful work. Lot of neat things in this short video!

Two of the best equipment investments I have made were an edger like that and a pressure washer. Since finding all of you wonderful people who make these lawn care videos I have really started working on my yard. I xeriscaped my front yard several decades ago because of the steep slope and the time and effort it took to maintain for grass nobody walked on. I had a metal edger that kept the grass contained and the edges crisp. When I no longer needed a grassy backyard, I converted that area as well. I had 12,000 ft2 of grass and it is so much easier to maintain now. A little weeding now and then, pruning as needed and watering during severe droughts for some plants to look their best. I don’t know why I watched your video since I even gave away my lawnmower 6-7 years ago but a crisp edge that you provided just really makes the yard look better. The proper tools do help make the work quicker and easier.

That is so nice of you to take the time, even if it was not a lot of time, to quickly finish the work that would have taken her hours. I loved it when she said she was doing it the way her Daddy taught her. I live in a rental and my landlord does the lawn but if he takes too much time, I get out there and do some edging with scissors and mowing with my reel mower, ha. My Papa did not let his grass or the neighbors grass or the grass at the church get too high so I have a little bit of that mindset in me.
