Code Geass ended on a perfect note, so there's no real reason to watch anything further, much less such obvious IP mining. Also, ever since Witch from Cringe Planet I finally realized Sunrise was done for. The signs were are already there (lol Yashahime), but I just didn't pay enough attention... well that and not really watching much of them in recent years.

At least in Gundam they have the excuse that space is fucking big and there are many colonies out there and not only that, they are building new colonies all the time, so the bad guys have a lot of places to hide, reinforce, the federation keep doing things badly, so space people get mad at them all the time, the U.C. is a mess where insurgent factions and rebel groups can appear easily all the time, but Code Geass has little to no excuse to bring Britannia back at least not like this...

They should have done this after 15 or 20 years have passed

The new anime, has many things from the original Code Geass series. It copies quite a few things in fact!! The creators mentioned in the Lelouch of the resurrection movie that they were afraid of bringing Lelouch back. Not only that, at the same time, they also changed what they said after the original series ended, about leaving everyone who saw it imagining if Lelouch was really dead or not, and said that they originally didn't have any thoughts on Lelouch being alive! But both Sakuya and her friend look alike with Lelouch! Not only that, it's obvious that they copied everything from Lelouch to make those two characters!! First and foremost his looks! And also parts of his personality, the way he's thinking etc!! They talked about being afraid of bringing Lelouch back, but they show us that they cannot NOT bring him back!! Because he's the one who carries Code Geass!! Lelouch of the resurrection was supposed to be an alternate universe. And here they are, having created a new anime that actually FOLLOWS UP from that universe!! (I'm saying that for people who were mentioning in different comment and videos that Lelouch is actually dead, simply because the resurrection movie was an alternate universe.) Not to mention some similarities with Kallen as well. So far, it seems that they mostly copied things from the original anime and integrated them into the new anime! That's disappointing!! And if it continues, things won't look that good. But, we'll wait and see. PS. I'm just mentioning some things that everyone must've realized or even felt.

Strangely enough, I think the film series is telling in and of itself if Lelouch died at the end of the anime series, and I think that answer is yes. He died, and he is still dead. What I mean by this is while the story is told through the anime, it is also told through a series of films, both of which are at their core the same story, however...certain parts of the story are changed. At the end of the anime, C.C brings up Lelouch, as we all know...and it appears that she **COULD** be talking to him, however - in the film series, when she was harboring that lifeless husk of Lelouch, C.C's entire demeanor is different than at the the following Zero Requiem in the anime. In the film, she isn't as carefree and nonchalant as she was at the end of the series, in-fact she's the opposite. While the film and anime are different - you could draw conclusions on what happened in one, from what happened in another.

I feel like the alternate universe had a better story as in writing but the main story had more context. In my opinion both could be cannon as in the recon stuff could be put in with what happened in the main timeline

The entirety of the plot became invalid immediately when you realize Lelouch was smart enough to nip it all from the bud. When he was emperor he basically had everyone dangerous executed. Neo Brittannia or the Republic would have taken half a century to form properly, which woulda given Elevens to become a superpower with the remaining Black Knights

What pisses me off is that noone is trying to destroy any of the feild generators. Sure it effect knightmare frames and sakuadite power tech, but why can't we send in a Black ops like team and some good old C4 to destory multiple generator to allow the BK to stage a landing/gain air superiority
