Karma Suzaku was an exclusive character from the mobile game Genesis Re; Code.
Despite the poor quality of the Game, Karma Suzaku was one of the only bright spots.
So in this video, we will go over his tragic tale.

Copying this from my reply:
The karma timeline actually diverged one episode earlier than ep 18. In ep 17, Lelouch was going to ask Suzaku to be Nunnally's knight and in the karma timeline, he actually does get to ask him. Suzaku refuses because he doesn't feel worthy/feels guilty over killing his father. Lelouch then reveals to Suzaku that he's Zero and this backfires horribly as it only pushes Suzaku away. So, I can somewhat see what would lead to this Lelouch doing this as he had tried every other option besides using his geass. And of course after this Euphie knights Suzaku which probably only added insult to injury for Lelouch since Suzaku refused him but agreed to Euphie. So that's probably where the slave command came in. He wanted to make it so Suzaku couldn't refuse him ever again. But ended up regretting it after doing it.
Oh, and I got that first bit of info from the 1st anniversary Karma Suzaku's profile. A few other interesting pieces of info are in it as well. Lelouch knights Suzaku at Kururugi Shrine (don't know when though), Lloyd, Cecile, and Rakshata all worked on the Lancelot Karma, all 3 are dead. Suzaku killed Euphie with the sword she knighted him with. After doing so, for the first and only time, he was able to resist the geass and broke the sword. Later when he was freed, he used the same sword to take Lelouch's eye.
I should have went through the profile before making the video. Now I feel kinda foolish for releasing an incomplete video.
@@MyMediaChopsIt's all good. There's still a ton of information we don't have. I have my own thoughts for why Lelouch did it, but without his point of view it's just speculation. Would love to know what the other Black Knights did, cause I strongly doubt they would've supported a genocide. Personally, I think Lelouch was too far gone at that point so he just geassed them to do as he said. I'm hoping one day we'll get an OVA for this.
Jesus fucking christ so that's what happened! Thanks for explaining it because yeah it doesn't really make sense why AU!Lelouch would make Suzaku his slave otherwise. Er, though even that isn't really much of an excuse for the bloodbath and suffering AU!Lelouch caused...
Ah, I don't know how I managed to forget this, but after Lelouch reveals to Suzaku he's Zero literally just a few hours later is when he finds out he's the pilot of the Lancelot. So from Lelouch's pov, it's just backstab after backstab and the confrontation on Shikine Island was probably his breaking point.
I really hope the DEVs for Lost Stories can bring that story over and flesh out the story more.
That would be amazing maybe even bring in the Lancelot Karma in the game
I do wish we can get an anime adaptation of this story.
My biggest Problem with the story of Karma Suzaku is that its foundation doesn't seem to make sense for the characters. It was said that the point of divergent was when Lelouch used Geass on Suzaku, but Lelouch at that point would never use his geass to turn someone into his slave, let alone his best friend and probably second most important person to him. The rest of the story can be argued about, but I also think it would be out of character for Lelouch, even after losing Nunnally to assassination, to decide to kill all britannians. Having him kill off most britannians even remotly connected to the military, nobility or royal family? Maybe, but he would never simply order the death of the student council.
Comply agree; there are parts that need further exploration.
I think what they were trying to do was to create an alternative timeline where Lelouch would use Geass to force others to be his slaves or cross whatever line necessary to achieve his outcome.
The writers should have explained how it wasn't just at Shikine Island but throughout the story that Lelouch was clearly not acting like our Lelouch.
@@MyMediaChops But then the problem would be that with such a different Lelouch, how things happen would also have changed drasticly. Shikine Island would probably never happened.
@@darko8959 agreed they definitely needed to flesh out the story more.
They should have made it an OVA or Manga
A unrestraint Suzaku and Lelouch. I’m both scared and intrigued.
This was really interesting and would be really cool as an OVA.
Now, this is what I like. The show always seemed to tiptoe around morality, letting characters get away with massacres, but showing that there is a point of no return is great. They say Lelouch was always the way he was, but if he met Emperor Lelouch, would he agree with letting Euphy and hundreds of Japanese die for a happy ending?
Good video first off.
Karma Suzaku feels like the writers had a genuinely good idea, but no idea how to really make it work. Lelouch and Suzaku are exteeme characters, I fully believe Lelouch could go so far that Suzaku started breaking down.
But also Lelouch would never do this to Suzaku and while he is capable of a LOT of murder, full scale genocide is to far. That just makes Karma Suzaku feel to distant from the normal Suzaku and Lelouch.
Karma Suzaku: *Laughs manically* Is this some kind of twisted joke?!
I never knew Code Geass had any media apart from the anime until I saw this channel
Thanks for covering this!
this is a pretty random youtube algo recommendation, great video
I wish i could read this story
Strangely, I can't imagine Lelouch enslaving Suzaku, since even in R2 Turn 7, he still thinks of him as his friend just like Nina, there are only two explanations:
- Karma's Lelouch is a worse person than the Lelouch we know.
- Something similar happened to the case of Euphemia, but maybe even Karma replaced Euphemia when the geass got out of control
The karma timeline actually diverged one episode earlier than ep 18. In ep 17, Lelouch was going to ask Suzaku to be Nunnally's knight and in the karma timeline, he actually does get to ask him. Same yeah even with the reasons explained in the other comment it doesn't make sense that Lelouch would enslave Suzaku with his Geass. So I think probably it's a combination of Lelouch being desperate to make Suzaku Nunnally's knight and also Karma!Lelouch being a worse person for whatever reason.
@@RainbowEssence-c3w I feel like it might be more of a desperation to have Suzaku on his side. I felt like him trying to get Suzaku to be Nunnally's knight was just his way of having Suzaku on his side in some way. And the refusal and then him getting knighted by Euphie was a slap in the face. He tries over and over to get Suzaku on his side, he gets nowhere. Euphie asks him and he accepts. So the geass is part punishment for what Lelouch sees as a betrayal and part desperation to have his loyalty.
I'm tempted to chalk Lelouch giving him that command instead of "LIVE" as a combination of the desperate situation at the time, keep in mind he had to think fast in that situation and so used the first command he knew would compel Suzaku to get them out of the situation, the mentioned conversation introduced a bias in his mind that tragically made the first thing to come to his mind be "Slave" rather then "live", also keep in mind even in the main timeline Lelouch was pissed at Suzaku during that situation cause Suzaku was 100% ready to sacrifice himself if it meant taking Zero down, so Lelouch wasn't thinking straight in either timeline, the bad one he just happened to be in an even worse place with his relationship with Suzaku.
That's not even getting into the fact Suzaku is far from being mentally stable "normally", his going crazy after being enslaved, and forced to go on a killing spree isn't surprising in the least.
Like the others here said, AU Lelouch in his POV felt he had been consistently, maliciously backstabbed by Suzaku, the one person he wanted at his back to make his plans so much easier to carry out. Suzaku's refusal of Lelouch to act as Nunally's knight, followed immediately by his hostile reaction when Lelouch shared with him his secret of being Zero, followed later by surprising Lelouch in the reveal that he was the Lancelot's pilot during Todoh's rescue, and THEN followed by Lelouch seeing Suzaku accepting knighthood from Euphemia, REALLY soured this idealistic image he had of his old friend. It was as if Suzaku simply throwed everything he gave him back at his face and then readily received the same things from another. Plain jealousy mixed with a hint of desperation.
Finally at the key moment during the Shikinejima battle, when Suzaku proudly flaunted that he would suicide himself to ensure Britannia can kill Zero there and now, the shock of this resolve added to his buildup of negative emotions towards the earlier rejections finally caused Lelouch to lapse into temporary insanity. If that's how things would end, if Suzaku would sooner die than willingly help him, Lelouch decides that having a mindless Suzaku at his side doing anything and everything he told him to seemed much better than having no Suzaku at all. Hence his AU Geass command that Suzaku "become his slave". Never again will Suzaku stubbornly refuse him the world. Of course, Lelouch immediately falls into regret afterwards, with tragic consequences later.
I've never heard of this game.
But I have to say, why does this plot sound so cool? They couldve made it into a good OVA or movie.
Bring life back into Code Geass.
Like, Lost stories had its anime op and it slaps hard.
Alot of these artists and plots are too good for mobile cash grabs
Amazing video. I was going to comment some additional facts but someone commented them before. But this is a very good way to introduce the character for those who haven't played Genesic Re;Code (rip)
I love the video and story
Amazing vid
What was it Suzaku says in episode 23 or 24 of Code Geass? "Tell everyone not to look outside, because I'm going to become a murderer in the skies of Tokyo tonight", or something to that effect?
That was always one of my favorite lines and made me really want to see what a Suzaku who has gone completely off the deep end would be like.
Now I know.😂
if you see this comment you can make if possible a video that talks about the butterfly effect in the world of code geass since you are the only one who makes videos about code geass mainly and I am subscribed to your channel and I like your videos which I see them interesting.
Thanks for the video it was really interesting to watch, I really wanted to play that game but it's impossible
I have the story posted on the channel if you want to go through that. Also you are lucky to have not played it.
It was a horribly gatcha game
@@MyMediaChops thanks. I actually don't mind gacha games like bleach brave souls if they are related to my fav animes so it'd be ok, but I'm also glad I can only investigate the part I'm interested in thanks to your channel.
@@bizarre_edits5732 you are welcome
That awkward moment when you have to kill yourself from an alternate timeline that was driven insane by your former best friend also his sister and your childhood friend was killed in said alternate timeline, in order to protect the Lelouch and Nunnally of your own timeline. Also, insert obligatory "you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain" quote here.
I didn’t know there was an alternative Suzaku
The worst part is code Geass what have made a good game and that would make a good story
not a fan of this game but a fan of lost stories
sad backstory has this suzaku
but man wait a minute they really done it huh
nunuly and lelouch?!
the resentment by the masses doesnt help your chances of living but the status of being enslaved does.
Let me know your thoughts on Karma Suzaku and/or the format of this video.
Also, I place an easter egg in the video let's see who is the first to find it.
I wish there was anime or manga for this story
Maybe after Roze we can get something for it
Far-fetched, I must say, but effective all the same.
Am making a podcast would you like to be a part of it
