I really hope it’s good, it doesn’t necessarily need any references to the original show as much as it needs to expand on the world and lore more. You mentioned in a video how they never really show the Chinese federation or the more of the EU. I want to see more of the Chinese civil war that Zero caused in R2. They very briefly mention and show the war happening. Obviously this takes place after, but even the consequences of the revolutions in the EU and China would be fascinating. As well as showing the consequences of the reduced sakuradite supply since the majority of it was destroyed. I don’t think they’ll ever do that because they wish to sell more model kits. I just want to see the story show the effects of the original show.

C.C. is probaby related to or actually just "Snow White" as many have theorized... that might make her real name something akin to the historical Margaretha von Waldeck-someone Goro was definitely inspired by for C.C.'s character judging by the similarities. Alternatively, because C.C. lived in Medieval Europe, I've heard that the acronym of C.C. might just simply be something like "Cheveux Chartuse" which is French for "(one with) green hair" which would be fitting way to refer to a slavegirl like her who obviously didn't mean much to her former master.

I'm willing to bet that he'll show up again. My hope is that these four movies resolve/fortify some dangling plot threads (Euro-Britannian conquests, post-colonial Japanese ethnic/nationalism issues, etc.) that will lead us into another Lelouch-centric sequel series dealing with (Caretaker vs. Destroyer (Skull) issues, threats to the existance of Geass itself, Geass fragment issues, succession crises (Zero, Nunnally, etc...), lingering geopolitical issue (Sakuradite), UFN secessionist movements, Suzaku's geass command driving him insane in an attempt to "live" by becoming immortal, etc...)
For the 999th time, I command you to stop complaining about no Lelouch and give the guy a break! Do your research on Code Geass and you will see that it isn't all about Lelouch as the main character. Here's why: 1. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection/Rebellion means Lelouch is the main character. 2. Akito the Exiled means Akito is the main character. 3. Suzaku of the Counterattack means Suzaku is the main character. 4. Nightmare of Nunnally means Nunnally is the main character. 5. Renya of Darkness means Renya is the main character. 6. Oz the Reflection centres around the main characters Orpheus and Zevon (I think that's their names). 7. Nunnally in Wonderland also shows Nunnally as the main character. Therefore Rozé of the Recapture means that Rozé will be the main character. Hope that helped you guys!
Another thing, we really need them to expand on C’s world more. No one ever posts deep analysis of what C’s world contains or the very abstract concepts it portrays as well. They even show a very weird concept of C’s world at the end of the more recent Code Geass Manga where Lelouch wakes up in a world where he watches the events leading up to the movie.
@@klaasfaak4039 I’ll never understand that, they made such fascinating revelations in Akito the Exiled about the ones who maintain time and the universe. C’s world was the most interesting part of the show, dealing with human consciousness and what God really means.
We are so back! I’m hyped for this. I love Akito and this looks like more of that. Them being movies means higher budget and great looking fights Everyone wants a true R3/more lelouch and I get it but I also think those stories are so tight and revered it’s not easy to just add on something new. All that said I’d love for this new show to have some tie ins that lead us to something new. Whether it is far in the future or another spin off.

Yes! We don't need more Lelouch and all fans have done 99.9% of the time since this news dropped was complain about no Lelouch. They clearly don't know much about Code Geass. I have done my research and watched nearly every video related to Code Geass and even I know, as a huge fan myself, that it's not all about Lelouch being the main character.
Regardless of the lack of familiarity with the original series or Fukkatsu no Lelouch, I am genuinely more excited than ever for this show. I think something that this show will dive into is the geo-political effects of Emporer Lelouch abolishing the aristocracy and the Zero Requiem’s massive power vacuum that gave the Black Knights and U.F.N. the power they have. Judging by the outfits of who you think is the antagonist and the girl with pink hair they look like they are Britannian remnants or something related to them. Personally, I wanted the Akito OVA to be completely removed from Code and Geass because I felt like it took away from the extremely limited ways one could conceivably get Geass in the original show. All in all, the trailer definitely is lacking for probably most people. In my case, after having been negative about Star Wars since the sequel trilogy, Marvel since What If season 1, and Dragon Ball Super’s anime never returning… No way am I going to be negative about this one, especially since I thought it was never going to happen.
I never felt like they removed that element, Geass was still obtained by a contract. They just showed who else it could be obtained from. The Manga for Resurrection shows elements of the UFN’s power and the black knights with members of the Original JLF launching a terrorist attack. In which since Zero has no Knightmare they rebuild the Lancelot Albion into the Lancelot Zero.

I don’t think that aspect was “removed”; from what is presented in the original anime is Geass could only be given by C.C. and V.V. as well as Charles/The Emperor later on… My biggest of only 2 gripes with Akito was how Shin got Geass, as well as the introduction of the Manifestation of Cs’ World (Or whoever that girl is, haven’t seen Akito in quite some time and don’t play the mobile games). For sure pure copium lol. As for the manga, I’ve read resurrection and have private translations from an irl friend of what rainfall hasn’t released. I’m sure the events are probably the exact same in the movieverse, but the resurrection manga is a continuation of the Re; manga that covered and completely followed R1 + R2 and has added context to some parts of the original show. Personally, the ramifications that I want to be heavily dived into is more centered around the people of Britannia, as well as their Euro Britannian counterparts. As well as possible Charles zi Britannia loyalists who were in favor of the aristocracy that may have went into hiding. I would think the biggest threat to the post Zero-Requiem Black Knights and the peace of the world is likely someone of that faction considering the philosophy that Britannia indoctrinated into it’s citizens.
@@tzdeezy Oof, the way Shin obtained his Geass is actually one of my favorite aspects of what Akito added to the CG universe... The Caretaker of Spacetime says she is the manifestation of all living being's desire to live. By contrast, the Skull basically told Shin that he exists only to give Geasses to those who wish to destroy. It's pretty clear that the Caretaker and the Skull are similar beings. They are sentient, personified manifestations of certain universal desires. C's World is just a metaphysical depiction of the collective unconscious. This is a Jungian psychology term. If you don't know or care much about psychology or philosophy then that whole part of the CG universe isn't going to appeal to you. Basically, the CG universe works based upon the metaphysical principle that perception is the only truth that matters and human minds can shape the objective world around them through collective beliefs-this is how C's World and BRS tech work. I expect to see it in this new show too, possibly as a way to "will" Charles back to life or something.
@@I-am-Hrut Like I mentioned in my previous comment, my feelings about the Shin/Caretaker thing are just based on pure copium for the original series… Although I dislike it, the truth is that it is probably a better decision in terms of world-building and deepening the lore. Definitely going to rewatch Akito after reading that middle paragraph, it has been way too long and I honestly didn’t even remember them saying that… Cs’ World is one of the most interesting parts of the series to me, I would go further to say that it’s actually a multiversal concept of what Jung stated. Considering that in the Knightmare of Nunnally manga when she rejects Charles she also sees several events that happened across multiple universes. I really hope C.C. learns about that gateway beneath the water of Antarctica because it would be a shame if they didn’t deepen the lore of Cs’ World. I have some doubts it’ll happen in Dakkan no RoZe though.
Btw might as well comment on this apparently they changed it from Z of the recapture to Roze of the recapture because Russia uses the Z as a symbol of support for their invasion of Ukraine and they didn't want people to think they were implying that.
Im not gonna be too harsh on a 30 second teaser, this wasn't a synopsis trailer. And as i understand it this will be the first of 4 total films for the series which im glad to hear, while not a 50 episode show, 4 films is still a good chunk of time to tell a new story, and i doubt we go through all 4 films and they just ignore all the prior lore and story of Code Geass.
Now that the new Code Geass series is happening, it would be cool if someone finally made a full English patch of the 2 DS games and Lost Colours. Not to mention letting us emulate it through a proper PSP emulator so it's less complicated to set up. And perhaps the recap movies will get an English dub release also, and the Nunnally in Wonderland. I would love to hear Johnny Yong Bosch's take on Lelouch as the Mad Hatter and him muttering "Who puts butter in the Hadron Cannon?" after he fell asleep reading. Oh, and maybe the Sayoko's diary and Lelouch's Britannian history will finally get released in English sub and English dub!
What can I say, sunrise does it again with giving us shit we don’t want, along with giving zero budget to the Code Geass IP. A series with Lelouch and C.C. hunting down the Geass fragments would have been so much better.
Lelouch and CC's story is over now. Go and do your research on Code Geass and you will see it's not all about them. Have you seen the OVAs? Read the manga? There's more to Code Geass than just Lelouch and CC, you know.
I am wondering, is the same guy who wrote and directed Code Geass working on this? Or is it a totaly new director? I fell like they owe an apology to the previous Code Geass director they didnt belive in him and in the series success, but still despite all the difficulties and lack of support he made one of the best series ever and a LOT of money for the studio... He deserves a second opportunity with unlimited criative control. I think we all would love to see that guy cook again...
You have too much expectations in a 39 seconds trailer. They don't want to show any of the old cast or some reference of it because they want to show the new things not the old ones. Again its a quick first trailer new things should be prioritized not the old ones, they also don't want to give away lots of things that should relate for the past films.
Glad there is new content and it is coming in 2024! But could we be missing something from what the characters are saying in the trailer? I hope they release a subtitled English version or someone can translate for would be good to understand what they are saying which should hopefully give more content. The sense I am getting this is a war-torn area as Lylod alluded to at the end of Ressurection which could explain why the knightmares don't seem to have a float system installed. As well, the pilots using prototypes or older knightmares but they all look new. But yeah get the Akito vibes and Alexander vibes from the knightmares. So maybe it is a war-torn area of Euro Britiannia. This can explain why you see some people still wearing Britannia style clothing. Would be nice if they threw in at least one quick scene of something geass. Can even just be a quick glance at C.C. or L.L. or ever just someone activating a Geass power. Would be nice for as you mention it doesn't give any clear indication it is from the same franchise as it just shows mecha fights. However, all I have to say is that it is better we are getting some new anime content from the franchise which still shows that the franchise isn't dead and they are trying to keep it going. Hopefully this movie leads off to an actual anime season which can continue off from this movieverse timeline. Just got to wait for more trailer and info to be released. BUT CODE GEASS IS BACK!

Thanks. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. An anime trailer in Japanese without English subs? No wonder so many fans are disappointed. Look at the other Code Geass trailers that came out and the characters spoke in Japanese. They were all English subbed. Unless this is a raw anime trailer (Raw in anime terms means Japanese voices but no English subtitles). Hopefully an English subbed trailer (and a longer one too like the likes of the other Code Geass trailers) will come out soon.

I love how this really feels like it's own story instead of a continuation of Lelouch's like the Akito OVAs. But I do wonder how the conflict will be viewed. Code Geass is one of the few pro-conflict animes in the mech genre.
Hope this show will give lelouch new journey in his quest find geass fragment. Hope character like marybell or protagonis fromcode geass lost story and pendulum knightmare frame made debut in this too.
Do they ever mention how Orpheus and Marrybell survive that fall? We know how the the knife was stopped, but that fall would've killed them both, no? Unless Marrybell and Orpheus received failed codes like Shamna did just before impact.
"This has no Code Geass vibes" I understand what you mean, CG vibes were more of war, corrupt leaders, strange sects, injustices the order of the day, more Victorian style?) and royal elegance This, on the other hand, felt more Cyberpunk, using a lot of very strong colors, you no longer feel the presence of kings and tyrants, it has a more modern feel we can say. Even the design of the protagonists feels very different from the ones we already had, Lelouch was a rebel prince, Suzaku a talented pilot and a white knight, Akito and Leila were a soldier and his commander, Oldrin looks like a scout while Orpheus does look of the resistance. The two new ones, on the other hand, remind me of an effeminate version of Gino, who goes very happy through life and the older one reminds me of a more serious and edgy Jeremiah, it's a strange duo and they are supposed to be mercenaries, something that surprises me. Another thing he doesn't feel is the presence of Geass, which is strange, but we'll have to wait to see the other two characters on the poster. I feel that the PV is very vague, it tells us almost nothing, it seems that the Japanese are in trouble again... Despite everything, I have more faith in it for the simple fact that we don't know more and because I finally believe that they will leave the Lelouch be at peace in his grave.....or with his wife, was this a sequel to the movies or series?
The cyberpunk element is portrayed a little in the resurrection manga. It’s more modern and not the same as before. Which can be a great element to the story!

If this takes place after the original anime, it still doesn’t make sense to have such massive knightmares still fighting. I had this problem with the movie too since Lelouch blew up the majority of the sakuradite in Mt. Fuji. I am hoping the knightmare combat is not as much as the original and instead expands on the story and world more. Code Geass was a Soap Opera with knightmares as a background idea that didn’t take precedent over the story
Yeah until recently I hadn't considered that Lelouch destroyed much of the world's Sakuradite. I am going to assume they are other sources around the world.

Honestly this looks unintersting to me and it being movies(that will sell poorly) just kills the hype. They really don't get why Lelouch of the Rebellion was a hit show.
What disappoints me here is because they make movies, ova's and side stories that aren't related to Lelouch or do not make the storyline center around Lelouch.

This teaser is abnormal and not like any kf the previous teasers, even the most minimalistic ones had lore and locations and this teaser has none of that. Akihito spinoff is my favorite part of the code Geass series. I hate season 2 where Knightmare frames became all Gundam's shooting rainbows. I hope they use Sutherland's frames again, I loved how skilled the people driving them looked.
I didn’t mind the EU knightmares, but the Britiannian knightmares are pretty much gundam suits. I really disliked the Horse knightmare. It didn’t make sense since they already had the land spinners on pretty much every knightmare while still traveling a ridiculous speed off-road and on roads.
Unless Lelouch is in the movie I won’t watch it, the main character doesn’t look cool or dark. I don’t want to judge it before I see it but other than the mechs the character designs are meh and if the story is meh it’s a wrap
Akito only had Lelouch or rather Julius Kingsley in 2 movies and had Suzuko a little more but it wasn't even the first movies. You can't just assume old characters won't cameo or have a minor role when it's 4 movies and this is most likely footage from the first movie only Also neither Suzaku or Julius Kingsley were shown in the Akito trailers they were kept hidden to be a surprise

It's cannon to the main series, Rozé will be a sequel to the Resurrection movie yes and nothing says that it won't have Geass, the Geass user in Akito was his brother, not Akito, who's to say the Masked Dude in the Anime cover art doesn't have Geass? Main in this one the villain is the one that has Geass or maybe the protagonist will have Geass just not at the beginning, what I'm saying is that this trailer isn't enough to know everything about the 4 movies

A film limits what you can do compared to a TV series. For example the Re;surrection film didn't have enough time to fully explore everything which is what the manga did. Now I am hoping it's going to be four films which should help mitigate that. If it follows Akito I guess that would be okay. Maybe one day will get a tv show at some point. Btw it's not over hatred it's just disappointment. These complains come from diehard fans
@@MyMediaChops not necessarily, it all depends on the narrative length and pacing of the sort of story. Some films cannot be made into a show and some shows can not be summed up to a movie. Resurrection did explore everything it had to explore, that is considering the entire purpose of the movies, I think it did better job in writing and storytelling than the manga did which further leads to my point about how certain medias can’t be transformed or adapted into a different medium via the way the story is meant to be told. Oh yes, the films are set to follow as 4 acts I heard. I don’t know if it follows akito since akito takes place in the original timeline and if this movie follows resurrection instead then it means it is going to take place in the alternate timeline. Its overhated because people are disappointed without any justification, it’s not necessarily diehard fan or not, its just about fairness of people who experience the art in general. You can’t be upset about a series you allegedly love but can’t stand it as a franchise because of a different medium it has for its external contents.

So far I’m pretty interested in the design of the characters, KMF design and setting. What I’m disappointed in this trailer is how we got no Geass powers, the CGI looks pretty bad and I’m really disappointed this is a movie instead of series. So May 4, this movie will be released. Can’t wait
supposedly there's a special PV that shows Geass powers, but it was only shown at the event that this is showcased. I hope eventually that PV will be released to the public because it would have generated more hype. That's a mischaracterization of what I was saying. I wasn't saying it had to be exactly how it was before. Rather I just didn't see much in this trailer that indicates this is a Code Geass anime as a oppose to any other mecha anime. The comparison isn't of validity but of resemblance. Much of what we say didn't seem it was a Code Geass Story. I don't care if Lelouch isn't the MC or if the story structure is different. I do care about how these films will relate to the world itself. Which means the characters from the past in some way better be involved in this story. I never operated that the OG series was the only "Code Geass". I've covered the extended universe on this channel. Look I am going to watch the films of course and approach it with an open mind.
Code Geass was only ever good because of one man : Lelouch. And the writers don't realise it at all.. No one cares about akito or side characters regardless of the animation. The whole story was born with Lelouch and ended with him, the rest are side stories of characters no one cares about. Only Lelouch of the resurrection got the vast majority fans hyped thus far since the series ended.

I know. I love Lelouch but I love seeing new characters too. So I will gladly watch it when it gets an English dub. I actually liked Akito and Leila! I mean, look at the Tales series (another great franchise by Bandai Namco). New characters in all the games. Edit: 2 weeks later and still no comment or reply. This is with a lot of my comments.
There is Geass in the extended trailer, but no Lelouch i don't mind because his story is finished now and it's nice to explore new characters and mix it up a little. Sometimes it's nice to have a change, instead of having Lelouch all the time. If you had read the manga and seen the OVAs you would know Code Geass is not all about Lelouch.
While I wasn't impressed with this trailer people need to get Lelouchs D out of their mouth y'all acting like he was the only good character in that show

I really hope it’s good, it doesn’t necessarily need any references to the original show as much as it needs to expand on the world and lore more. You mentioned in a video how they never really show the Chinese federation or the more of the EU. I want to see more of the Chinese civil war that Zero caused in R2. They very briefly mention and show the war happening. Obviously this takes place after, but even the consequences of the revolutions in the EU and China would be fascinating. As well as showing the consequences of the reduced sakuradite supply since the majority of it was destroyed. I don’t think they’ll ever do that because they wish to sell more model kits. I just want to see the story show the effects of the original show.

Alternatively, because C.C. lived in Medieval Europe, I've heard that the acronym of C.C. might just simply be something like "Cheveux Chartuse" which is French for "(one with) green hair" which would be fitting way to refer to a slavegirl like her who obviously didn't mean much to her former master.
C.C.‘s original name before the series ever came out was Cera, maybe to Taniguchi-san that is her true name

My hope is that these four movies resolve/fortify some dangling plot threads (Euro-Britannian conquests, post-colonial Japanese ethnic/nationalism issues, etc.) that will lead us into another Lelouch-centric sequel series dealing with (Caretaker vs. Destroyer (Skull) issues, threats to the existance of Geass itself, Geass fragment issues, succession crises (Zero, Nunnally, etc...), lingering geopolitical issue (Sakuradite), UFN secessionist movements, Suzaku's geass command driving him insane in an attempt to "live" by becoming immortal, etc...)

For the 999th time, I command you to stop complaining about no Lelouch and give the guy a break! Do your research on Code Geass and you will see that it isn't all about Lelouch as the main character. Here's why:
1. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection/Rebellion means Lelouch is the main character.
2. Akito the Exiled means Akito is the main character.
3. Suzaku of the Counterattack means Suzaku is the main character.
4. Nightmare of Nunnally means Nunnally is the main character.
5. Renya of Darkness means Renya is the main character.
6. Oz the Reflection centres around the main characters Orpheus and Zevon (I think that's their names).
7. Nunnally in Wonderland also shows Nunnally as the main character.
Therefore Rozé of the Recapture means that Rozé will be the main character. Hope that helped you guys!

They even show a very weird concept of C’s world at the end of the more recent Code Geass Manga where Lelouch wakes up in a world where he watches the events leading up to the movie.

Everyone wants a true R3/more lelouch and I get it but I also think those stories are so tight and revered it’s not easy to just add on something new.

Yes! We don't need more Lelouch and all fans have done 99.9% of the time since this news dropped was complain about no Lelouch. They clearly don't know much about Code Geass. I have done my research and watched nearly every video related to Code Geass and even I know, as a huge fan myself, that it's not all about Lelouch being the main character.
Regardless of the lack of familiarity with the original series or Fukkatsu no Lelouch, I am genuinely more excited than ever for this show. I think something that this show will dive into is the geo-political effects of Emporer Lelouch abolishing the aristocracy and the Zero Requiem’s massive power vacuum that gave the Black Knights and U.F.N. the power they have. Judging by the outfits of who you think is the antagonist and the girl with pink hair they look like they are Britannian remnants or something related to them.
Personally, I wanted the Akito OVA to be completely removed from Code and Geass because I felt like it took away from the extremely limited ways one could conceivably get Geass in the original show. All in all, the trailer definitely is lacking for probably most people. In my case, after having been negative about Star Wars since the sequel trilogy, Marvel since What If season 1, and Dragon Ball Super’s anime never returning… No way am I going to be negative about this one, especially since I thought it was never going to happen.
I never felt like they removed that element, Geass was still obtained by a contract. They just showed who else it could be obtained from. The Manga for Resurrection shows elements of the UFN’s power and the black knights with members of the Original JLF launching a terrorist attack. In which since Zero has no Knightmare they rebuild the Lancelot Albion into the Lancelot Zero.
@@marcusgotosleep4853 Completely fair. Perhaps I misrepresented my thoughts. I don’t think that aspect was “removed”; from what is presented in the original anime is Geass could only be given by C.C. and V.V. as well as Charles/The Emperor later on… My biggest of only 2 gripes with Akito was how Shin got Geass, as well as the introduction of the Manifestation of Cs’ World (Or whoever that girl is, haven’t seen Akito in quite some time and don’t play the mobile games). For sure pure copium lol.
As for the manga, I’ve read resurrection and have private translations from an irl friend of what rainfall hasn’t released. I’m sure the events are probably the exact same in the movieverse, but the resurrection manga is a continuation of the Re; manga that covered and completely followed R1 + R2 and has added context to some parts of the original show.
Personally, the ramifications that I want to be heavily dived into is more centered around the people of Britannia, as well as their Euro Britannian counterparts. As well as possible Charles zi Britannia loyalists who were in favor of the aristocracy that may have went into hiding. I would think the biggest threat to the post Zero-Requiem Black Knights and the peace of the world is likely someone of that faction considering the philosophy that Britannia indoctrinated into it’s citizens.

@@tzdeezy Oof, the way Shin obtained his Geass is actually one of my favorite aspects of what Akito added to the CG universe...
The Caretaker of Spacetime says she is the manifestation of all living being's desire to live. By contrast, the Skull basically told Shin that he exists only to give Geasses to those who wish to destroy. It's pretty clear that the Caretaker and the Skull are similar beings. They are sentient, personified manifestations of certain universal desires.
C's World is just a metaphysical depiction of the collective unconscious. This is a Jungian psychology term. If you don't know or care much about psychology or philosophy then that whole part of the CG universe isn't going to appeal to you. Basically, the CG universe works based upon the metaphysical principle that perception is the only truth that matters and human minds can shape the objective world around them through collective beliefs-this is how C's World and BRS tech work. I expect to see it in this new show too, possibly as a way to "will" Charles back to life or something.

Definitely going to rewatch Akito after reading that middle paragraph, it has been way too long and I honestly didn’t even remember them saying that… Cs’ World is one of the most interesting parts of the series to me, I would go further to say that it’s actually a multiversal concept of what Jung stated. Considering that in the Knightmare of Nunnally manga when she rejects Charles she also sees several events that happened across multiple universes. I really hope C.C. learns about that gateway beneath the water of Antarctica because it would be a shame if they didn’t deepen the lore of Cs’ World. I have some doubts it’ll happen in Dakkan no RoZe though.

And as i understand it this will be the first of 4 total films for the series which im glad to hear, while not a 50 episode show, 4 films is still a good chunk of time to tell a new story, and i doubt we go through all 4 films and they just ignore all the prior lore and story of Code Geass.

Now that the new Code Geass series is happening, it would be cool if someone finally made a full English patch of the 2 DS games and Lost Colours. Not to mention letting us emulate it through a proper PSP emulator so it's less complicated to set up. And perhaps the recap movies will get an English dub release also, and the Nunnally in Wonderland. I would love to hear Johnny Yong Bosch's take on Lelouch as the Mad Hatter and him muttering "Who puts butter in the Hadron Cannon?" after he fell asleep reading. Oh, and maybe the Sayoko's diary and Lelouch's Britannian history will finally get released in English sub and English dub!

You have too much expectations in a 39 seconds trailer. They don't want to show any of the old cast or some reference of it because they want to show the new things not the old ones. Again its a quick first trailer new things should be prioritized not the old ones, they also don't want to give away lots of things that should relate for the past films.
That's a fair point I was being a little harsh at some points.
Glad there is new content and it is coming in 2024! But could we be missing something from what the characters are saying in the trailer? I hope they release a subtitled English version or someone can translate for would be good to understand what they are saying which should hopefully give more content.
The sense I am getting this is a war-torn area as Lylod alluded to at the end of Ressurection which could explain why the knightmares don't seem to have a float system installed. As well, the pilots using prototypes or older knightmares but they all look new. But yeah get the Akito vibes and Alexander vibes from the knightmares. So maybe it is a war-torn area of Euro Britiannia. This can explain why you see some people still wearing Britannia style clothing.
Would be nice if they threw in at least one quick scene of something geass. Can even just be a quick glance at C.C. or L.L. or ever just someone activating a Geass power. Would be nice for as you mention it doesn't give any clear indication it is from the same franchise as it just shows mecha fights.
However, all I have to say is that it is better we are getting some new anime content from the franchise which still shows that the franchise isn't dead and they are trying to keep it going. Hopefully this movie leads off to an actual anime season which can continue off from this movieverse timeline. Just got to wait for more trailer and info to be released. BUT CODE GEASS IS BACK!

Thanks. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. An anime trailer in Japanese without English subs? No wonder so many fans are disappointed. Look at the other Code Geass trailers that came out and the characters spoke in Japanese. They were all English subbed. Unless this is a raw anime trailer (Raw in anime terms means Japanese voices but no English subtitles). Hopefully an English subbed trailer (and a longer one too like the likes of the other Code Geass trailers) will come out soon.

I love how this really feels like it's own story instead of a continuation of Lelouch's like the Akito OVAs. But I do wonder how the conflict will be viewed. Code Geass is one of the few pro-conflict animes in the mech genre.
Hope this show will give lelouch new journey in his quest find geass fragment. Hope character like marybell or protagonis fromcode geass lost story and pendulum knightmare frame made debut in this too.

This, on the other hand, felt more Cyberpunk, using a lot of very strong colors, you no longer feel the presence of kings and tyrants, it has a more modern feel we can say.
Even the design of the protagonists feels very different from the ones we already had, Lelouch was a rebel prince, Suzaku a talented pilot and a white knight, Akito and Leila were a soldier and his commander, Oldrin looks like a scout while Orpheus does look of the resistance. The two new ones, on the other hand, remind me of an effeminate version of Gino, who goes very happy through life and the older one reminds me of a more serious and edgy Jeremiah, it's a strange duo and they are supposed to be mercenaries, something that surprises me.
Another thing he doesn't feel is the presence of Geass, which is strange, but we'll have to wait to see the other two characters on the poster.
I feel that the PV is very vague, it tells us almost nothing, it seems that the Japanese are in trouble again... Despite everything, I have more faith in it for the simple fact that we don't know more and because I finally believe that they will leave the Lelouch be at peace in his grave.....or with his wife, was this a sequel to the movies or series?

The cyberpunk element is portrayed a little in the resurrection manga. It’s more modern and not the same as before. Which can be a great element to the story!

I had this problem with the movie too since Lelouch blew up the majority of the sakuradite in Mt. Fuji. I am hoping the knightmare combat is not as much as the original and instead expands on the story and world more. Code Geass was a Soap Opera with knightmares as a background idea that didn’t take precedent over the story

Honestly if they keep failing to make characters as interesting as Lelouch, they should just remake the entire code geass series and fix plot holes/make up for what they couldn’t with the budget in 2006. Fans would appreciate that a lot more than millions of dollars going to movies and games no one’s really invested in

This such a moot point, at least the first statement. They have no reason to remake the entire Cg series because it has no plot holes or something thing couldn’t make up when they made it in 2006. The other sentence is entirely false objectively based off what the other content was made for.

My biggest issue is that Lost Stories is a gatcha game if it was just a visual novel I wouldn't be as upset about it.
well you don't know if this characters will be less interesting than Lelouch because this trailer doesn't show you enough also I liked Akito it was different but I liked how a Geass order is what made him go batshit crazy for survival. I also liked the cast of the Akito movies the only thing I didn't like was like the last movie and the ending it felt underwhelming

@@ItzSwxzy a mecha anime that is famous for its story and lore and not the mechas. Have you never seen any of Code Geass media teasers? They always feature characters, lore, Geass and mechs. Having an entire teaser with no Geass in itself is a problem, but having one that doesn’t even attempt to lure people in with old characters ks teasing the new ones is just shit. This teaser is abnormal and not like any kf the previous teasers, even the most minimalistic ones had lore and locations and this teaser has none of that. How can you not see a problem with something that shows less info than a no dialogue teaser of Akito lmao
Akihito spinoff is my favorite part of the code Geass series. I hate season 2 where Knightmare frames became all Gundam's shooting rainbows. I hope they use Sutherland's frames again, I loved how skilled the people driving them looked.
I didn’t mind the EU knightmares, but the Britiannian knightmares are pretty much gundam suits. I really disliked the Horse knightmare. It didn’t make sense since they already had the land spinners on pretty much every knightmare while still traveling a ridiculous speed off-road and on roads.
I love that the show improves from basic kmf to gundams, that's the best thing about the original Code Geass

Unless Lelouch is in the movie I won’t watch it, the main character doesn’t look cool or dark. I don’t want to judge it before I see it but other than the mechs the character designs are meh and if the story is meh it’s a wrap

Akito only had Lelouch or rather Julius Kingsley in 2 movies and had Suzuko a little more but it wasn't even the first movies. You can't just assume old characters won't cameo or have a minor role when it's 4 movies and this is most likely footage from the first movie only
Also neither Suzaku or Julius Kingsley were shown in the Akito trailers they were kept hidden to be a surprise

It's cannon to the main series, Rozé will be a sequel to the Resurrection movie yes and nothing says that it won't have Geass, the Geass user in Akito was his brother, not Akito, who's to say the Masked Dude in the Anime cover art doesn't have Geass? Main in this one the villain is the one that has Geass or maybe the protagonist will have Geass just not at the beginning, what I'm saying is that this trailer isn't enough to know everything about the 4 movies

Idk why i keep seeing a lot of people complaining about this before the movie even came out, so what if its a film and not a show, how does that make it inherently a bad media? How overhated has Code Geass became man. 🤦♂️
A film limits what you can do compared to a TV series.
For example the Re;surrection film didn't have enough time to fully explore everything which is what the manga did.
Now I am hoping it's going to be four films which should help mitigate that.
If it follows Akito I guess that would be okay.
Maybe one day will get a tv show at some point.
Btw it's not over hatred it's just disappointment.

@@MyMediaChops not necessarily, it all depends on the narrative length and pacing of the sort of story. Some films cannot be made into a show and some shows can not be summed up to a movie.
Resurrection did explore everything it had to explore, that is considering the entire purpose of the movies, I think it did better job in writing and storytelling than the manga did which further leads to my point about how certain medias can’t be transformed or adapted into a different medium via the way the story is meant to be told. Oh yes, the films are set to follow as 4 acts I heard. I don’t know if it follows akito since akito takes place in the original timeline and if this movie follows resurrection instead then it means it is going to take place in the alternate timeline. Its overhated because people are disappointed without any justification, it’s not necessarily diehard fan or not, its just about fairness of people who experience the art in general. You can’t be upset about a series you allegedly love but can’t stand it as a franchise because of a different medium it has for its external contents.

It just depends on who is working on it and the context of the story.
In this case Z of the Recapture could easily work as a show.

When I said follow akito I was referring to the style of having the story told in OVA like films.

The events of Akito the exiled are referenced in the second film and in Re;surrection it exists in all three timelines.
In all three timelines Akito takes place between R1 & R2 or the events of which.

Panzer is like German military tanks. Though it is sci fi genre but the whole franchised of code geass is like looking in the episodes and films which is about the western countries. Though in Japanese plot. I just scrolling every new released of anime titles from old to new.
So far I’m pretty interested in the design of the characters, KMF design and setting.
What I’m disappointed in this trailer is how we got no Geass powers, the CGI looks pretty bad and I’m really disappointed this is a movie instead of series.

supposedly there's a special PV that shows Geass powers, but it was only shown at the event that this is showcased. I hope eventually that PV will be released to the public because it would have generated more hype. Also idk if Rozé will have Geass or someone else, sure Lelouch was a Geass user, but Akito wasn't Akito was affected by a Geass order given to him by his brother (who was a Geass user) so I wonder if any of the MCs will become a Geass user or if the villains will be the only ones using Geass

That was the Code Geass then, but this is Code Geass now. The Code Geass you once knew, with the characters, the story structure, the protagonist, it doesn’t exist as the only Code Geass anymore, so it’s unfair to compare the present Code Geass with the past one, acting as if the last one is the only valid show worthy of being called Code Geass.
That's a mischaracterization of what I was saying.
I wasn't saying it had to be exactly how it was before.
Rather I just didn't see much in this trailer that indicates this is a Code Geass anime as a oppose to any other mecha anime.
The comparison isn't of validity but of resemblance.

I do care about how these films will relate to the world itself.

Code Geass was only ever good because of one man : Lelouch. And the writers don't realise it at all.. No one cares about akito or side characters regardless of the animation. The whole story was born with Lelouch and ended with him, the rest are side stories of characters no one cares about. Only Lelouch of the resurrection got the vast majority fans hyped thus far since the series ended.
Yes, but it would be nice to see new characters too. Lelouch's story is finished now. And besides, Lelouch is dead.

I know. I love Lelouch but I love seeing new characters too. So I will gladly watch it when it gets an English dub. I actually liked Akito and Leila! I mean, look at the Tales series (another great franchise by Bandai Namco). New characters in all the games.

There is Geass in the extended trailer, but no Lelouch i don't mind because his story is finished now and it's nice to explore new characters and mix it up a little. Sometimes it's nice to have a change, instead of having Lelouch all the time. If you had read the manga and seen the OVAs you would know Code Geass is not all about Lelouch.
