I don't know how a humble person can call another person's hearing "false, somethings are just false." Hearing can even be affected by past hearing damage and concussions. The person is describing what they hear and interpret and there is only one judge. Same with art and paintings, that is pretty to you and ugly to another, there is no false.

I've used up to 4 of these little chifi amps from fosi and ayima to power various surrounds to take the load off of my avr. Things sounded fine to me, although I don't have a trained ear. On the denon 3800 I can turn off the avr amps that are not being used and I assumed more power would be available for the channels I left to the avr. I can't really tell it sound much difference. I finally noticed a difference once I put one lil amp to each of my L and R fronts though. It was clearly louder than using the avr. I know this because I'm very tuned in to the left and right and usually use them as the foundation for level and adjust levels based how I hear the L and R. But as soon as I put the lil amps on the L and R I had to turn down the level by 3 because movie music was so loud. As far as wides my Sony 7000 has a nice upconverter that makes good use of the wides for me. It also has another surround option that makes good use of the wides called 360 Sound Spatial Mapping, I like it too.

Well, if i have preouts for fronts on my Marantz, wich rca-in should I use on another avr if it have no any plugs as 'main in'. Just AUX or CD or DVD whatever?

Dirac set some of my 8 identical heights to 70Hz and others to wild numbers. They can't do below 118Hz at volume!

Not getting into on screen menu is a very common issue. I’ve had 3 Pioneer Elites over the years. Unplugging and replugging power typically corrects it.

It is called D to A and A to D and D to A. You or resampling the same signal 3 x. Bad form. Try to use EQ sampler in your digital sound chain. Someday Dirac, Audsey or PEQ will run in the 192 Khz / 24 bit domain for all 16 channels and subwoofers. That will change room correction dynamic EQ for the better.

Mini DSP is Down wind from the AVR so any information from the AVR passes through the mini DSP.

If youve got mini dsp, amps with dsps, processors with dsp, rew, mso, etc, you start to get lost at some point or at least i did.

I like your thoughts on “Room Correction “ Joe. It doesn’t do anything to the room, but it recommends adjustments that will help the speaker sound better within that particular room. Correcting speaker response for that measured space.

teknically an amp do not have eq, so you can not answer the question without assuming a lot of things. but if you have several eq in your system they do not talk to each other, it is always goin to be on top of each other.

I was gonna buy 125lb JTRs speakers and opted for 40lb Ascendos specifically because they're lighter and had a better sound signature for my room.

Been laid up a bit a home and I found Erin's channel and this channel just lately and Erin's graphics with his test gear and software could be a death knell for a few center channel speaker manufacturers that go for cool looks over science, lol! Keep it up! The spread on the SVS center blew me away.

Speaker placement - often reviews don't indicate the success of a given speaker when placed very close to the front wall, which unfortunately is something many of us often have to settle on. For many speakers it is absolutely terrible, and for others it is acceptable, and in rare cases a speaker is designed to be allowed to be placed very close to the front wall. Thanks!

My living room just has a sound bar, but I modified it's wireless sub to feed a corner loaded Monoprice 12" 150w RMS and it bumps more than the wife can tolerate. $100 for a bit more bass vs $1000+ for entire new sound bar system.

I love audio like you guys, but I'm super frugal. It's Erin's fault I redid my front sound stage. After watching a ton of videos I choose the KEF Q150 for the 3 fronts. My wife has hearing issues and I'm a cheap audiophile. These speakers were a huge hit in my house.

Once you are in this hobby for a couple weeks, you realize what you thought was budget was actually the floor of what anything costs. I remember when I thought a $2000 tv was ridiculous. But that’s just what stuff costs, especially now.

In your own home the subjective experience is all that matters. If a person believes a $600 wire sounds better than a $5 wire and it makes them happy, it hurts no one else. But if you take that “belief” and start making assertions that are not aligned with science (pseudoscience doesn’t count even though it sounds better than real science) that’s when I start objecting.

Joe, you have to remeber, there are reasons another reviewer can experience a different sound vs what you experienced with the same set of speakers. Its everything else in the chain. Cables, placment, equipment matching. And you'll be shocked to hear this, all cables, amps, and dacs don't sound the same! 😱 Blasphemy! Snake Oil? I don't drink snake oil. I prefer doing rails of Alicorn powder.

What people hear and want to hear is a tricky thing. Glad they tried to AB test though...we need more of that across the board to prove or debunk claims.
