Which Platform is the Best for Selling LEGO Sets?
One of the most common questions I get from LEGO investors and LEGO re-sellers is which platform is the best to sell LEGO sets? In this video we are looking at 8 platforms, most of which I have some experience selling on. My goal from this video is to help you identify which selling platform fits you the best.
I also mention District as one of the options. If you are interested in exploring the Jake's Bricks District you can do that here: district.net/jakesbricks

This works great for me cause everything I build is modified in some wzy. I mis figures for my oene idias and modify sets to my likeing.

    So much copium here lol if you buy in bulk in hopes of selling, you are a scalper no matter what you want to call yourself lol if “resellers” or “investors” keep buying all the sets on the shelf as soon as they restock, then how is there plenty of sets for everyone else to buy?

  • @MarineMike
    @MarineMike Před 13 dny

    So many Lego scalpers trying to tell themselves they’re just collectors/investors to cope. If you buy multiple sets in order to sell for more money, it’s scalping. Just because you waited some time before buying or selling doesn’t make you an investor/reseller, you are still scum clearing the shelves in bulk and leaving none for the kids. Every “investor” that makes a video like this says they have scalped while doing it, so there is very little difference. Stores just need to start making purchase limits like they did for the pokemon card scalpers.

    With eBay, the fees are even worse now that USPS has gotten rid of certain cheap shipping options. Between a totally glutted reseller market and problems like these, making real money on eBay reselling sealed retired Lego is very difficult. And while you can resell certainly highly desirable used sets easily there, obviously the more a set sells for, the more Ebay is going to take from the sale.

    Thanks for the information. I sell on Facebook Marketplace and have done well locally. I use an average of brinklink, brickset and brickeconomy to set prices. No fees and buyers can see/inspect what they’re buying. I meet at a local Swap Spot in the parking lot of the Police Station. I think it’s easier buying large number of parts from LEGO instead of brinklink. Most brinklink sellers do not have a large number of a particular part. If you want a lot of one part you have to order from multiple sellers. Thanks

    Mercari has steep fees for buyers. There are at least 2 or 3 different fees (besides tax and shipping) to pay when you're checking out. It is ridiculous. I feel like Whatnot is doing okay because they are offering $15 coupons for new buyers, and if you watch the auctions you will notice that MOST of the bids come from new buyers using their coupons. I'm afraid that once they quit offering those, the platform will slowly cool down. I know you are trying to advocate for District, but the fact that almost nobody knows about this platform is just backbreaking. I've been buying and selling Lego for a couple of years now, and this was the first time I heard about it. StockEx is a joke. The prices seem very low, but once they apply all of their fees, you end up saving $15 in a $500 set. It is straight-up better to buy at the official Lego website and get your insider points.

    Sellers misusing the shipping cost (i.e. pricing product for 0.99 and grossly increasing shipping cost) on eBay was the probable cause for them adding fees for shipping. The shipping label bulk discount on ebay kind of helps with that. However, charging fees on tax is ridiculous and the high fees on eBay overall hurt.

    District sounds just like whatnot absolutely identical, if ur on whatnot your building a community or district and people come to your shows because they know you. U also sell stuff in the BIN just like district the big difference is the shear amount of people on whatnot compared to district, honestly don’t see district making it long. Even Duck bricks sells More on whatnot and M&R is on whatnot as well as a ton of other huge CZcams Lego channels
