The new 30mm gun is also smaller and lighter, so the new mounting has a MUCH wider range of motion, making the gun much more aimable and able to cover a much larger area from a given orbit position. And the old 40mm gun was manually fed with 4 round clips, but the new gun has an automatic dual feed system with a much higher rate of fire AND the ability to switch back and forth between 2 different ammo types. Finally, with the ability now to fire Hellfire and Griffin missiles, the AC-130J can finally deal with air threats like helicopters, many types of drones, and even slow moving planes.

The Corporal of Horse, he is one of my fav., he is a very nice Gentlemen, and talks to the tourist from time, to time. I watch every day, the guy that shouted at the boy first, I follow his Chanel. But there is an awesome Gentleman that, I follow the most, he exaplines a lot about the rules, customs, history etc., I have learned souch. Lol, day one in basic in 1984, meeting the training staff, Gentlemen, two things you need to know as from today, ONE, We are not your friends, TWO, pain is a sensation to be enjoyed, that definitely set the precedent for what was back then 12 weeks basic training. Revellie was 4.30 a.m and rarely got to bed before midnight. Learning to perform to a high standard whilst deprived of sleep, fierce discipline and constant physical and mental stress was what produced real soldiers in my opinion. I actually loved basic, what I see here is an army that is virtually completely civilianised compared to what I went through.

Greetings from Orange County, California. I was stationed at RAF Lakenheath in the late 70s so obviously I got to understand a lot of British expressions. I'm so fed up of seeing these idiots who try to provoke the guards or grab the horses reins then complain if the guard shouts at them. I'd like to see more arrests for obstructing guards while on duty and endangering them when pulling on the horses reins. People take real liberties in this country that they wouldn't try on elsewhere.

So they are doing what they done with the school system to the army. Teachers used to throw stuff at students and cane them, now they cant lay a finger on a kid and look what has happened, generations of kids that think they are untouchable but are soft as shit and even softer in the brain. Obviously the army are trying to appeal to this generation to get the numbers up but what good is that in a war zone.

I fully understand that the military is trying to make basic training and military service more appealing and no one likes being shouted at but training in the military is not simply preparing someone to do a job. Soldiering is a very stressful occupation, particularly in a combat situation and one of the reasons for putting recruits under stress is to get them used to reacting and carrying out orders in highly stressful environments. Failure to do so correctly can get people killed, an outcome that is not present in any civilian role and no military commander will have time in a combat situation to ask and persuade reluctant soldiers to put their lives on the line. It is on these occasions when training and discipline come into the picture. These, plus the ability to react to orders when all hell is breaking loose is what makes an effective soldier. These traits will NOT be developed or inculcated by soft words and empathy.

I was supposed to be cleaning the toilet but I decided to take a quick dump. This drill instructor came in while I was using the toilet, yanked me up, slammed me against the wall and gave me an ass chewing for disobeying orders. Then he made me pull up my pants and continue cleaning the bathroom without wiping my butt and later afresh inspecting the toilet I cleaned he gave me a PT session afterwards on the quarterdeck. I've never wanted to wipe my ass so badly.
