Before the movie Downfall I doubt many knew Steiner but now with the meme he has become a household name.
I had less than one hour of "training" when I made my first static jump. I was also picked to be 1st out the door. It ain't no big deal...
Great Monty Python reference.
Just a thought - has anybody researched if any those 100,000+ Chinese soldiers are Mao/Communist sympathisers and are in any way trying to sabotage the Chinese Nationalist Army? I watched a video accusing Mao of allowing the Nationalist Army to fight the Japanese and simply waiting for their defeat to continue the civil war. I can imagine the Nationalist Army being so tired after years of fighting that they just couldn't continue the civil war.
If you’re going to backtrack to cover the last few weeks in the Phillipines, it’d be nice to backtrack to cover - albeit briefly - the last 2 YEARS in New Guinea.
The Karen group you refer to in Burma is actually pronounced ‘kuh-RIN.’
ULM MENTIONED RAHHHHH
Hitler: "If your break a leg, it's hard to cook urangutan."

will this get a new channel or will it live on this one?
It is weirdly beautiful to see American and Soviet squares stand next to eachother
"Mein Fuehrer......Steiner......"
Mit dem Angriff Steiners wird das alles in Ordnung kommen.
Barbarossa went off years to early. Without a settled peace in Europe it was just dumb to start when it did. Also Stalin was doing more damage to his own country then even the Germans could during the early years. A couple more years so the Germans could refit after France and Stalin doing his thing the Germans would have walked into Moscow.
RAF Bomber Command might disagree with you. Three varieties of long range heavy bombers were rolling off British production lines. It's amazing how much a few large bombs landing on a factory slows down production.
@@Dave_Sisson The UK talked a big talk later on in the war and when they had no other option but after Dunkirk there was peace to be had. The Germans didn't want it but with the plans they had they should have went after it as best as they could.
Soviet Union won WW2
Love the Monty Python reference.
what was that guys name again?
I saw Steiner at Walmart this evening.
Steiner just be chillin and massing forced.
I am a bit sad that you did not mention Crailsheim the one big allied blunder at that time in Germany
nazi scum almost defeated thanks to our soviet comrades
That opening tho 😂😂😂❤
Brilliant Opening Indy. Your German is Awesome~ You must have learned that during Reinheitsgebot 😉😉
Logged in just to give a like about Gambleputty.... of Ulm
I’m just starting on 1942 but so far this series is great
I like that at 5:17 Hitler has the map from the video. And it updates in real time, I wonder how he still managed to lose despite the very informative map.🤔🤔🤔
At least there was a Downfall reference in the screenshot.
Outstanding Monty Python opening Indy!
Its ironic to see how the series began with an enthusiastic hitler , confident wermacht , high morale japanese as if it looked that they were truly invincible . But they say karma is a boomerang, and it definitely struck again with a lot of blood.
I'm quite curious why this video is the channel's most watched by over a factor of two (3.3 million views for this with the next closest being, unsurprisingly, the first video on Operation Barbarossa at 1.3 million.)
steiner is abandoning ship like everyone else.
It all would depend on the elevation of the source of the river and where its located.
The sort of "clever" reasoning which must be happening: "North is at the top of the map and south is at the bottom, water flows down and so no rivers can flow from south to north."
This week in French news. The 23th, Sigmaringen is taken by French troops, the Commission is over. The same day, in Dachau, Charles Delestraint ex-leader of the Secret Army dies. The 24th, Hitler calls Krukenberg, commander of the Charlemagne SS Division for a new Sturmbataillon to protect Berlin. 600 men volunteers but only 330 can goes in Berlin due to the shortage of trucks. They are the last Axis unit to enter Berlin. Krukenberg becomes the commander of the SS Nordland. The rest of the SS Charlemagne goes to the western front in Bavaria, among them 400 becomes workers in factories. The Sturmbatallion is positioned in Neukölln to counter attacks and one company in Tempelhof and Landwehrkanal near the Hallesches Tor. The 27th, the battalion is in the Belle-Alliance-Platz and rest the night in the Schauspielhaus. The 28th, some troops are sent to defend Wilhemstrasse. The 29th, they are in Puttkamerstraße until the 1st where they are in the Prinz-Albrecht-Straße but are sent back to the Wilhemstrasse even after the death of both Hitler and Goebbels. They do not try to fly by the Weidendammer bridge and they surrender like all other unit in Berlin the 2nd of May, they are one of the last unit protecting the Fuhrerbunker. The same day, beginning of French operation Laure in the Alps near Larche toward Italy. The 23th, Saint-Ours, Larche and Roche-la-Croix are taken, retaking part of the Maginot line in Italy. The 26th, after Italo-german units retreats, the pass of Larche is reached, where the Franco-italian border is. All Axis units are now withdrawing toward Italy due to operation in the Po Valley. Operation Pinguin is launch in the Alps, French forces reaches the Tende pass and the 27th, some units infiltrate Italy by Bagni di Vinadio and reach Vinadio. All the Roya valley is occupied and the operation is a success. The 27th, Mont-Froid is finally taken by the French. The 28th French troops are near Ivrea, Lonza, Rivoli, Coni and San Remo. The 26th, Eisenhower demands to De Lattre to withdraw from Stuttgart to establish a military government but the French General, under direct order from De Gaulle, refuses. The 28th, Eisenhower yield and French troops can stay in Stuttgart.
Indy, you are among the best historical journalists of all time. Thank you for your work.
I got an idea for a book you could write. 😄
Man that German wordplay in the beginning 0:16 was flowing so f*ckin smoothly like silk water, Indy Baby! 👏😎✨
Because depression kills. Case closed.
That is not true. Get a grip dude. Northerners think they are smarter than everyone else. Get bent.
That's the ugliest front lines I've ever seen from the Germans. It's got WW1 beat as millions of German troops and civilians flee west worse than 1918.
Cheers guys. The episode was pretty late, well 0400, so I missed it. 3 days.
I have to ask. Do we know if Hitler lasts longer than the OKW radio balloon? Please. I need this for a warm up on April 30th.
How dare they never heard of Ulm??? Glorious city
Loved the Monty Python reference.
