      I don't understand the mentality of the CZcams "government." When I was a child, I looked at my fathers WW2 history books that had been printed during the war. They were intended partly for propaganda purposes, and to show Americans why the US was fighting.
      In sixth grade, my teacher, a former tail-gunner in the European theater, gave the class the homework assignment of watching an interview on tv, of Holocaust survivors.
      None of that (and more) has made me into a psychopath or pacifist. I wish my representatives in the US Congress had my education.

      @@TheDanEdwardsCZcams isn't always clear about their criteria. I've known channels who had content removed that seemed to meet their standards, as well as restricting the monetizing of content similarly. And there seems to be no process to appeal their decisions or even get details on exactly where 'the line' is drawn so you can oblige them. It reeks of despotic random censorship to me, and I'm not alone in that belief.

    • @oldgoat142
      @oldgoat142 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@TheDanEdwards Then this platform needs to get out of the video business and become a company where you have to literally sign up and pay for membership at various tiers, and then their ad people don't have to worry so much because then they'd know, "Okay, this is kid level, teen level, the "I don't want to see anything but cute puppies and kitties," level, etc., and then tailor their ads accordingly, (which I'm not interested in in any way, shape, form. If I want to see or hear commercials, I'll stick to TV and/or broadcast radio) .
      These people control narratives and information, and spare the nonsense that they don't, or the other nonsense of, "well, they're a private company hey can do what they want." So was Ma Bell, and other companies which were eventually broken up.

    • @oldgoat142
      @oldgoat142 Před 2 měsíci

      @@TheDanEdwards Their own actions over the last three years specifically makes that glaringly obvious. Silencing any critics of highly questionable medical mandates and offerings of alternative practices, not to mention removal of overwhelming evidence of occurrences where such mandates caused far more harm than good, by demonetizing and in far too many cases, outright deletion of accounts. We're not talking average people either, but medical professionals with the credentials to back up their claims. As I write this response, I have to tiptoe around the subject or have my comment deleted, as has been done to me far too many times to count. I haven't created content on my channel for several years now because of this very threat, so I know firsthand what I'm talking about.
      That's just for starters.
      What world war two and the war against humanity has had to endure, never mind far too many other serious content creators such as armchair historian, the operations room, kings and generals, et al;, is far beyond ridiculous. They present facts, and a chance for people to learn about new things, yet their channels are constantly threatened or routinely experience demonetization.
      When any company controls and shapes any narrative, be it medical, education, social, historical, scientific, (the list goes on), then that company should be held to greater standards and scrutiny. Any attempts to eliminate said content should be called out and spotlighted.
      Do I begrudge this corporation making money from ad revenue? Of course not. Support and maintenance of their infrastructure alone requires vast amounts of capital. If the concern is offending advertisers, then rational people can come up with solutions, and compromises, (such as a tier system which I advocate should that become necessary), can be reached if people are willing to do so.
      The average user, (myself for example), should also not be punished for using ad block or other programs because we have no interest in viewing ads. Nothing is more jarring to me than listening to music, especially a particularly calming piece, and having an ad drop directly in the middle of the piece, thus ruining the moment and the mood. But I digress.
      The punishment of which I speak started happening at the beginning of 2024. The deliberate slowdowns have directly affected the operation of our devices. My laptop has experienced highly suspect slowdowns and other problems as of late. Computer professionals have been shouting from the rooftops about it but that's a subject for another discussion.

      I live in the US. During Diwali, the Indian (Hindu) students at the university put on a big show and great meal for the festival. Many Muslim students(including Pakistani) come to this dinner, too. They want to eat food from their homeland. It is lamentable that others, in India, cannot get along as do the Hindu students and others from the US community do, at Diwali.

    10:45 the German Club is where members of the German community in Manila and hundreds of Filipinos were raped and massacred by Japanese forces. They even murdered card-carrying Nazis. This incident is why relations soured even further between Nazi Germany and Japan near the end of the war.
    “Over 100,000 Filipino civilians and a total of 25 Germans (five at the German Club) were killed in the battle for Manila,” Krohn continues. “The German-Japanese relationship during the occupation had never been very good from the start. We considered ourselves neutral rather than allies.”

    On 18 February 1995, the Memorare-Manila 1945 Foundation dedicated a memorial called the Shrine of Freedom to honor the memory of the over 100,000 civilians killed in the battle. It is also known as the Memorare Manila Monument and is located at Plaza de Santa Isabel in Intramuros. The inscription for the memorial was penned by National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin and reads:
    "This memorial is dedicated to all those innocent victims of war, many of whom went nameless and unknown to a common grave, or even never knew a grave at all, their bodies having been consumed by fire or crushed to dust beneath the rubble of ruins."
    "Let this monument be the gravestone for each and every one of the over 100,00 men, women, children and infants killed in Manila during its battle of liberation, 3 February -- 3 March 1945. We have not forgotten them, nor shall we ever forget."
    "May they rest in peace as part now of the sacred ground of this city: the Manila of our affections."

      😂 I love it when you all have a xenophobic, nationalist hissy fit about “your”language.
      Me 2018: pronounces Guerilla with the “ue” e and with the second unwritten I pronounced (like in Spanish)
      Umpteen CZcamses in 2018: “bro, I don’t care if that’s how you pronounce it in _your_ language. Speak ‘murican! It’s Gurilla - almost like gorilla!!!”
      Me 2024: tired of umpteen CZcamses commenting makes an effort to mispronounce the word.
      Random CZcamse in 2024 (you): bro, I don’t care if that’s how you pronounce it in _your_ language. It’s Guerilla with the “ue” e - like in Spanish!”
      BTW… “my” language is English, or should I say my _primary_ language is English. It’s my first native language (one of two native languages, and one of four with native level fluency). Like all native bilingual, and polyglots I have idiosyncrasies in my pronunciation, and vocabulary… deal with it!

      @spartacus-olsson hahah love your comment Spartacus!
      The word Geurrilla was named so many times in this episodes. I really got confused with actual gorrila's.
      I just think it's weird it's pronounced that way in English.
      But what do I know I'm a Dutch farmer second language German, 3rd language English, og jeg snakker litt Norsk. But that's just because my brother lives there and it's so similar to our saxon frisian dialect. I just prefer to pronounce foreign words in the language they originate from. 😅

      @@Hooibeest2D that’s pretty cool… 10 years is a true compliment! And so we’re clear: we agree about how guerrilla should be pronounced… but what do I know.

    Do you know why they censor it? Because they don't want you to know that that's what's going to happen again
