Id say battery to me is the most improtant thing on any of these. It's crazy we went from terrible Indy ports with blocky graphics that barely ran on things like the PSP and Vista, and now people complain if these devices don't get 60 fps on AAA titles. If you want a desktop experience you need to play on your desktop. It's amazing that we're getting almost xbox and ps capabilities in a portable device in general.

Not sure this guy has been using a the same handhelds as everyone else the Ally feels terrible in hand and has very badly placed buttons. The SteamDeck while larger is more ergonomic

Pick one up for 300 z1 extreme. I hate it. I have a steam deck but damn this thing stutters/lags. I even tweaking all the settings and still issues. Gonna install steam os and hopefully fixes it. If not gonna sell it. You got to do to much to make it work. I have a gaming pc. So its nothing new to me messing with settings but this is ridiculous. Steamdeck is a way smoother experience. Steam os is the way to go for handheld.

i think its a good call keeping the same resolution, i think they should keep it at 800 until they are ready to double it to 1600, it gives consistency without people having to decide which games can handle native res and which cannot constantly switching and dealing with scaling.

If a person wants the most optimized one? Steam deck no questions asked if valve could they would probably optimize games themselves if money wasn’t a issue

The ally is a scam....eventually you will have stick drift..when you send it in, they are gonna ad extra fees for things that don't matter like a weasel mechanic. Mark my words

Just bought a steam deck OLED. I am not super committed to gaming yet, but wanted to try some games I’ve always wanted to play or have played before. I’ve had friends that owned consoles but I never have myself, so this will be my first and standalone. I do realize it may not be enough storage especially if I get a bunch of games like bg3, but I might upgrade to a terabyte and put it in myself. Since I’m not super committed to gaming, but just want to do a little…I hope it wasn’t a mistake.

I tried upgrading my laptop ram to 32GB and unfortunalty the videos on youtube didn't fully cover the tricks and ended up screwing both my ROG Ally and my Flow x13 laptop. Very sadly scratch the pads underneath of the ram chips and screwed up the MB. if you are trying to upgrade please verify your capabilities as it is a very sensitive process and you may end up in full dissapointment like I did.
